Mega Man Star Force Now Streaming on Hulu
Viz Media is amping up its streaming library with all thirteen dubbed episodes of Mega Man Star Force. The animated series is now available to stream from Hulu and Neon Alley, respectively. You can start your binge right here.
Star Force originally aired in 2006 for 55 episodes. It premiered in English the following year as an online-exclusive through the now-defunct Toonami Jetstream. The English version, produced under Viz, typically took two Japanese episodes and combined them to one 30-minute episode. Unlike Mega Man NT Warrior, the English Star Force features significantly less cuts, censorship and a considerably more accurate translation. It remains a fan favorite today.
Streaming is currently limited to residents in North America. Those with a Hulu Plus subscription can watch the show on your TV or on-the-go.

How indefinite was the contract with Viz anyways?
ReplyDeleteI've watchdd the whole thing subbed. Im curious how this will be. 13 episods is only half kf the series though (26 of 50) which makes me leery
ReplyDeleteActually, having watched all the episodes on the Jetstream service when it was there, the actual number of Japanese episodes used is 25 out of 50: The first half of episode 13 is Japan's episode 25, while the second half is a clip show recapping most of what happened so far: It ends with Geo sitting by the river, looking up at the stars (and EM Waves) & making a promise to himself that he'll go to outer space and find his missing father, wherever he is. Still makes me sad that it ends there because I REALLY enjoyed watching the series.
DeleteI have watched them a long time ago and it was not so bad.
ReplyDeleteStop the presses!! Mega Man returns in 2017 in an all-new TV show!!
ReplyDeleteSo who has the rights to NT Warrior and why can't we see that? :/ I would've thought that one would've been released for streaming first..
ReplyDeleteViz, ShoPro, Shokagukan. We shall see.
DeleteI remember watching the hour long premiere on Toonami. After it aired they said to catch the rest on the Jet Stream sevice. Was pretty sweet to see a MegaMan series was on Toonami & on TV again in general with mainstream spotlight for a bit.
ReplyDeleteSo does this mean we may see a continuation of the dub? NT warrior probably isn't going to happen at this point, but this still has a chance, right?
ReplyDeleteIt's highly unlikely. At the core, the purpose of these shows is to promote the games and sell toys (Toys being a selling point more-so for NT Warrior.)
DeleteAt this point neither is relevant. Starforce also has its 10 minute episode format kind of working against it. It's not really common for shows to divide a screening into two parts like it used to be (Such as PowerPuffGirls) meaning it risks alienating the audience more.
I do wonder who would voice Solo.
