Our friend Skybane Zero of Get Me Off the Moon had the opportunity to chat it up with Inti Creates president Takuya Aizu. A number of topics are touched upon in the near 12-minute interview including Inti's rejected Mega Man Legends 3 pitch, the speculative relationship between Mega Man ZX Advent and Legends, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 and plenty more.
There's a little something here for everyone. Give it a watch!
Huh. I didn't realize it until just now, but... Inti Creates has been in charge of all things Rockman since like what? 2004?
ReplyDeleteThat's a little eye-opening.
2002 actually =)
Deletesince megaman Zero 1
Except that MMX7-8, XCM, MHX, MMPU, MMBN, and MMSF games (and other multimedia actually) were all released and had nothing to do with Inti during those times.
DeleteEnough with the Legends 3, let people live, damn.
ReplyDeleteIf you dont like to hear about the Legends 3 then you are no fan! Just BACK OFF! You forgot that Protude is a fan of Rockman and he wants Legends 3 happens as much as we do. Ok ?! Sorry about my English.
DeleteWell I do like Inti Creates 2d platformers(which is what they're good at and do). So I don't what Legends 3 has anything to do with that. So why don't you back off of them?

DeleteNo, if you don't like to hear about it then you just aren't a fan of the Legends series. Just because you don't like one spinoff of the series doesn't mean you aren't a Megaman fan. Seriously, being a fan of a series doesn't mean you have to like everything that gets thrown your way.
I have learned two things from this overly long and annoying interview. 1: Game producers in Japan have issues giving a direct answer. 2: Gunvolt might , possibly, maybe, have a second playable character. These interviews always bother the crap out of me, because they clearly have good answers to give, but they refuse to give them. it is so aggravating.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I blame it more on the interviewer's lack of NDA awareness. Of course you're not going to get answers from a contractor about a project that wasn't greenlit, so why bother asking?
DeleteI personally would've found the interview far more useful if they talked less about the meta-series and more about the development process, like difficulties self-publishing or things they wished they could've implemented post-release. I mean, did they seriously ask if ZX was going to directly lead into Legends with a great flood, in spite of the fact Legends takes place thousands of years later, on top of having its own backstory regarding the Master System, Elysium, etc? The interview could've been more gameindustry-savvy and less MegaMan-fanboy, imo.
Anyways, the interview is still appreciated, and there were still some good questions/answers to be had (particularly with the sound team).
"Aizu: ZX has been left with no ending, we really want to see what happens." yeah, well then MAKE THE GAMEU!!! Instead of releasing Street Fighter FOUR a million times in a row and making different CLOTHING , unless you're going to add an FASHIONSHOW DLC. Shhhhhhtap eet(Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)
