From the North American Command Mission "five new games" ad to a very Tron-esque Rockman.EXE 4.5 spot, YouTube brings us a new batch of previously lost Mega Man commercials. Kick back, relax and enjoy the nostalgia.

Mega Man Mania was really ahead of the curb in the direction for the series.
ReplyDeleteOh my god
DeleteOkay, credit where it's due.
DeleteThat was a pretty good one.
Is this some inclusive thing or something? Cause I am not following any of these comments at all.
DeleteMega Man Mania was the first cancelled game.
DeleteEvery game these days gets cancelled. Therefore Mania set the precedent.
What is Mega Man Mania, wasn't the first cancelled game Scrabble Battle or some jazz like that?
DeleteI want my Mega Man fighting crossover DAMMIT!
Mega Man Mania was meant to be a collection of Mega Man I through V made for the original Game Boy. This collection would have given the games a color palette to replace the old Black and White scheme.

DeleteOh ok I thought it was a brand new game not a collection of slightly enhanced older games. What's up with the random Sakura music?
DeleteNow this is interesting. Actual advertisements for Mega Man games are pretty darn rare outside of Japan, and while I don't think the commercial was particularly good as it didn't show off the gameplay or the difference between the games, I'm more thinking about the time frame that these came out.
ReplyDeleteThe Battle Network series was easily one of the most successful series of the franchise and it was also the only series that Capcom really seemed to consistently support with things like this. Wonder why they only really tried it with that series when it worked.
I collected Rockman CM games from Japan> :D
ReplyDeleteMan, I miss Battle Network.
ReplyDeleteIt begins, da da DAAAAAM.
DeleteI remember the Blue Bomber commercial growing up. It was cringeworthy even back then, haha.
ReplyDeleteBeing a bit generous counting Command Mission twice in their "Five new Megaman games" spot, huh?
