Well that didn't take too long! Rockman Unity is showing off images of the colored 13-inch Mega Man figure from X-Plus Toys. Magnificent, isn't? But wait! There's more...
HAIR.
An interchangeable helmet-less head accessory. It's a dream come true!
More images at Rockman Unity!
Oh good lord I must have that now for the helmet-less version.
ReplyDeleteDoes anybody know the kind of paint they are using? : /
ReplyDeleteWhen will people learn that this guy's neck is gray with a tall blue color around it, while he's in his traditional blue body, even without his helmet?
ReplyDeleteOtherwise nice figure.
when the official art agrees with that statement.
Deletewhen have you seen him with a grey neck without his helmet? the only instance I know of where you can see his neck while he's suited up without his helmet is in the opening of mega man 4, and his neck is clearly flesh colored there.
His neck is also flesh colored in the Rockman 3 commercial while suited with the helmet, and its pretty hard to argue that it's suppose to be grey. His neck is also flesh colored even after he puts on his helmet in the 4 opening, which is made clear in other media that is not suppose to be the case. Also the credibility of the NES style sprite scenes aren't the most reliable source in this case, blue hair color isn't exactly this figure's strong point.
DeleteI guess you're right though, there really isn't any evidence otherwise. I was basing my judgement on ground work set by MML and MMBN subconsciously I guess.
Wow, that really does look great. Will probably be gettin' one for sure. Helmet-less alt though? Now collectors and otherwise must buy two? I think it would be much more convenient to have the head pieces be swappable if that's the only difference between them.
ReplyDeleteSince this is a soft vinyl figure: the "without helmet" configuration may be achieved by just switching-out the heads; we should just have to buy one figure & get two heads. The rough translation hints at that; the caption beneath that final photo says: "...by replacing the head," so it's possible this will be a single figure with alternate heads.
ReplyDeleteThe figure looks really well-sculpted.
Not shiny enough. :p
ReplyDeleteGET MY MONEY AND MY BODY NOW!
ReplyDeleteSo....
ReplyDeleteMuch....

Flashman, 2012
Okay, yeah. I want this.
ReplyDelete(*Having said that, the figure is immediately cancelled*)
That is gorgeous! Do want, yes!
ReplyDeleteThat figure's fantastic. I love seeing things like these.
ReplyDelete- Dr. Jerk.
Yep this one is worth getting methinks, not sure if there's been a helmetless statue before either come to think of it...
ReplyDeletewhy does mega man suddenly have kitty kat whiskers all the time now? It looks horrible. Just stop it capcom. He's not one of those cats from monster hunter, just stop.
ReplyDeleteHe's always had 'em. Look up any official classic series art.
DeleteThat is sweet, I'm definately going to buy this. I hope they make a megaman x statue too.
