Nintendo unleashed a bevvy of new details for Super Smash Bros. Wii U on today's livestream event. Sprinkled throughout, a few fun Mega Man bits...
For those who haven't seen it, here's the show:
New Mega Man trophies include...
E-Tank!
Final Smash!
Classic Roll!
Masterpieces from Brawl are back. Among the Virtual Console demos... Mega Man 2!
You can freeze your game and use the Wii U GamePad to doodle. Here's a shout-out to Metal Man, for example.
Last, the very awesome prerendered Mega Man appears in Bowser Jr.'s reveal trailer.
And that's all. For now.
The Direct promised a huge amount of music from tons of games, so if you were disappointed in the Mega Man selection on 3DS, there's a good chance Wii U will have something to your liking.
November 21st can't come soon enough!
Woohoo!! Awesome stuff but I kinda yearned for the mm8 Roll but I have high hopes of having some mm7 music and the wily station theme from mm4(game boy). Thinking about it is making me drool with hype.
ReplyDeleteMan, seeing Classic Roll rendered like that got me smiling all over. It's like seeing your childhood come back to life in a new format, while still looking awesome. :)
ReplyDeleteNow if only she would be playable...
COSTUME DLC
DeleteOnly thing I don't like about Mega Man's render is his skin colored neck. Oh and Bowser Jr. is epic haha. Could care less for Roll, not gonna pretend to care for a house keeping robot with a broom. She didn't even have enough of a design to modify, which every single other character form the Classic/X series got and ROCKED in this game. Nintendo should put a little more effort in Zero's saber though and fix EXE's tinny hands. Nintendo get on DAT!
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, Roll isn't wearing armor, if she was they likely would have touched up her design a bit, all she has on is a dress.
DeleteYeah he knows, hence the statement "She didn't even have enough of a design". In other words, she's so plain and boring that there was barely anything to modify.
DeleteAt least they put Bowsers other kids in there. Been wondering what happened to them
ReplyDeleteThe Koopalings have been appearing regularly in the series again since 2009.
DeleteThey've been regular bosses in the New Super Mario Bros series since the Wii entry. In addition, they were bosses in Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, and they all appeared in Mario Kart 8. They've been back in the light for a while now.
DeleteThat settles it. I MUST get a Wii U! (Is it backward compatible with Wii and GameCube?)
ReplyDeleteOnly with the Wii version, but they have a GameCube adapter that lets you use the GameCube controller as a controller for the game.
DeleteWiiU is great as a 2nd console! Backwards compatible with Wii but not Gamecube however Smash Bros is being bundled with a Gamecube controller adapter so you can use Gamecube pads soo maybe down the road it'll support them? ... nobody knows
DeleteIt has BC for Wii games, but not GameCube.
DeleteJust the Wii.
Deletewii yes but gc no
DeleteOnly the Wii. You'll have to hang on to a GCN or early model Wii if you want to play your GCN collection.
DeleteDon't forget the Proto Man figure on the Smash Tour vid!
ReplyDelete@16:24 top right corner has a Proto Man figure.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to point out, the E-Tank trophy is actually in the 3DS version.
