By way of Midtown Comics, the latest covers and solicitation to Archie's Mega Man #43 have surfaced. The variant cover holds a neat little touch despite the ecycled art. Can you see it?

VERY nice variant cover!
ReplyDeleteVERY nice variant cover?
DeleteIf by very nice you mean very lazy, than sure, why not. They don't even have the courtesy of drawing unique pieces of art in entirety for the comics. And no an edited Nintendo seal of quality emblem, doesn't make up for that.
Hiya Prof.
DeleteSeriously, though. Who gives a crap about the cover's effort? If it gets people to take it off the shelf and read it, that's good enough for me.
The only thing unique and cool about it is the background drawing, but the use of stock art in the foreground is kind of lame, I will admit. I wish the background was in the foreground. :/ Then it would have been an awesome variant.
DeleteDid they switch things around? Usually it is the variant that has the good art that looks like it took a lot of effort to make. This time the main cover is really nice and the variant is bland (sans background drawing).
@Cyberguy64: Dude are you a troll? This is like the 5th time I've had to deal with you, stop with your white knighting, face-saving babble, and let me live with my opinion. Why don't you go senselessly bash X7 or something? And no I'm not Prof! Guess I have to tag myself from now on.
DeleteAlso kindly stop with the assumptions, when the comics have great art, I'm usually the first to say so.

Being frustrated with someone who only goes into Archie-MM threads to spout exactly the kind of shit ProfessorMegaman would does not make Cyberguy64 a white knight or troll.
DeleteYou say you want to be left to your opinion, but it really does get to the point where one has to wonder why you're still commenting on this subject.
What are you talking about? Dang you people drive me nuts. This is my first ever negative comment on the comics on this site. Seriously, what are you talking about?
Delete-Eric Boom
@ ocelotl rama: Uh, BOTH the foreground and background are technically "stock art". Well... they're both reused art, anyway, and they both were originally made together that way. This is the original artwork: http://i767.photobucket.com/albums/xx312/IBENEPTUNE/RockMan3CompleteWorks.png
DeleteThe only difference is that they covered up Proto Man's face.
@ Anon
DeleteThat's the problem with using Anonymous instead of actually identifying yourself in every comment. There are tons of people who post negative comments on this blog anonymously, including a few who whine a lot about the comics. Since there's no way for a reader to differentiate between them they all blend together. If you don't like it, stop using Anonymous and pick a name. The Name/URL selection doesn't even require you to put in an email address.
True that the variant is lazy, but it is a homage to the cover (PS1 Rockman Complete Works version) of the game the current story arc is based on. That's what makes it appealing to some.
DeleteAnd with Auto discovering that Wily is the mastermind, he will likely fail to stop him (or get caught in the act by Light & Roll), steal Gamma and go for it.
That main cover..... that is truly sick!
