The original Mega Man Battle Network will be making its way to the North American Wii U Virtual Console next Thursday, July 31st. You can check out the announcement at the 2:45 mark above.

No word yet on price, though $7-$8 is anticipated. We'll have all the details next week!

Thanks to Axl_abe for the tip.

  1. No 3DS? No sale. Stop pushing the WiiU CONSOLE using HANDHELD -graphics games, Nintendo.

    1. Have you seen the GBA games on a TV? They look fantastic.

    2. My favorite graphics are sprite graphics, and GBA had some of the best. IMO, it along with NDS are the last of the great sprite era, an era I will dearly miss. Although there is Gunvolt.

    3. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who has a problem with the fact that the Wii U was chosen for GBA games, rather than an actual handheld system like the 3DS. Like I said a few months ago, even with the off-screen play feature, the range is severely limited, and strips the games of the portability that they originally had. Why they thought that was a good idea, I'll never know.

    4. I read somewhere that the 3DS isn't capable of handling the tricks Nintendo had to pull to make GBA games look good. Tiny Cartridge thread on some post about a month back actually. Anyhoo, I'm excited. I've wanted this since the first DS came out. =D

    5. That's a bold faced lie. Ambassadors like me already have some pretty good GBA games, we just can't buy them for some arbitrary reason. They work just fine, though.

  2. This might get me into that series; I skipped it before. Still, I'd rather hear dates for 5, 6 and X3.

  3. Maybe give the gba games to the 3ds and give some gc games to the wii u. It seems to make more sense to have the gba games on the e shop they were promised for years ago. Or did we forget about how there's still ambassador titles that still have yet to see daylight on 3ds' elsewhere.
