Mega Man 9 Arrives on PlayStation Now
If you have access to the closed PlayStation Now beta, you'll be pleased to know that Mega Man 9 was recently added to the streaming service. Rental fees vary from title to title, but Mega Man 9 is starting at $2.99 for 4 hours of play, $3.99 for 7 days, $5.99 for 30 days, or $7.99 for 90 days. Compared to, say, Final Fantasy XIII-2's rental tag, this isn't too bad.
Also worth a mention, if you own the game digitally on PS3 it will be free to stream right away on your PS3. Similarly, it will be free to stream on PS4 after you rent it on PS3 first. As long as you have a decent internet connection, you should be able to jump right in and play.
Thanks to Johnathan for the tip!

Hell now. Considering it's a precision platformer and you could be potentially plagued by lag, there's no way I'm touching this, not with a 10 foot pole.
ReplyDeletePricing isn't too great. I could just buy it and keep it for $10 instead of only renting for 90 days for $8.
ReplyDeleteI know I wouldn't be able to play it on my PS4 or Vita, but that doesn't justify the slightly crazy pricing, granted it's still only beta so there's time to change the pricing. Personally I think the PSNow service would work better as a subscription Netflix type service.
This is some stupid, stupid stuff. The mind boggles.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for renting games. But the pricing, while not as bad as the others, is still bad. I believe it's the game companies that set the price and not Sony.
ReplyDeleteNo thanks. Not only do I already own this on the Wii, complete with all downloadable content, but this disappointment of a game isn't worth paying for twice.
ReplyDeleteWould like to point out that those 7 days do not refer to real time days, but to actual gameplay. That means that for $4, you can play this game for up to 168 hours. Not bad, IMO, especially considering I've never played /any/ game for that long.
ReplyDeleteNot much of a gamer then.
DeleteAhh, so pissing your time away playing nothing but video games is what qualifies you as a gamer. Good to know. I thought it was just enjoying the medium, not how much time you put into them. Guess I was wrong all these years.
DeleteI see that Anon1 doesn't have very many games. I don't play games much after I beat them because I have a library to catch up on, kid. I can't just keep playing the same one for days on end anymore.
Delete" I can't just keep playing the same one for days on end anymore."
DeleteIt's sad to hear that. Man, I couldn't imagine what it would feel like to only play Street Fighter,or Mega Man BN, or Mario Kart, or Smash Bros, or any of my favorite competitive or favorite games in general only a couple of days. I'd feel so incomplete, like I only demoed them and didn't give them the attention they deserved,or like I'm just using games going through the motions. But to each their own.
I guess that's what games encourage now. Not for me tho, when I play a quality game, you best believe I'm gonna enjoy it to the fullest, no matter how long it takes. Now back to the new card setups I've thought of for my 15 year old Card Fighters Clash game on NGPC that I believe is timeless and I may very well play in till an update of equal value is released. See ya.
Yes. Please charge me a premium price to rent a game I could own forever for barely more money.
ReplyDeleteWhenever insane greed rears it's ugly head, you know Sony will always be there.
You know why? They need to stop focusing on the most super, duper, out of this world advanced technology, they can barely afford to make. All in the name of "graphics" and "picture" that is truly unnecessary, and most of the time only holds the attention of most casuals a short time, till they get tired and move on to the next thing, that they'll no doubt start not to appreciate in a short time as well.
DeleteWith how unnecessarily expensive games have gotten, no wonder companies pull out these desperate money grabbing ploys, or die trying.
No PSVita version, right?
