Capcom Unity has just announced a whoppin' 21 titles coming soon to the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console. Among the lot, players in both North America and Europe can get their hands on no less than TEN Mega Man games. Two of which, might I add, are often requested...
Coming this year to Wii U...
- Mega Man 5 (NES)
- Mega Man 6 (NES)
- Mega Man 7
- Mega Man X3
- Mega Man Zero
- Mega Man Battle Network
- Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge
To be announced dates (possible late 2014, 2015)...
- Mega Man Zero 2
- Mega Man Battle Network 2
- Mega Man Battle Network 3 (Blue and White)
Lastly, some good news for our friends in Europe. This year, you're about to get caught up on the following:
- Mega Man II (3DS)
- Mega Man III (3DS)
- Mega Man IV (3DS)
- Mega Man V (3DS)
- Mega Man Xtreme (3DS)
- Mega Man Xtreme 2 (3DS)
And there you have it! Ten Mega Man games, a handful of which are hitting Nintendo's digital platform this year. Naturally, we'll keep you posted when these games drop. For the full list of Virtual Console titles, head to Capcom Unity.
That's a pretty good mix. It's nice to see the floodgates opening on the VC scene.....finally.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSS Mega Man 7 and X3 !!!!!!!!! Now give us Rockman & Forte (SFC version) and Wily wars !!!
ReplyDeleteCome on! Give us Rockman & Forte and Wily Wars versions!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo! I want GBA Games for 3DS! (Specifically Mario Party Advance, Mega Man Battle Network, and Sonic Battle)
ReplyDeleteBuy a Wii U and you will be fine...
DeleteNo, Sonic The Hedgehog sucks. Rockman/Megaman rules! :D
DeleteLOL.
DeleteSonic and Mega Man are both equal. Quit being stuck up.
@BassDS:What does that even mean equal? Anyhoo in my opinion, Rockman is far superior than Sonic. Sonic has no true identity. It's like a series with no cohesiveness, and scrambles to appeal to all audiences while borrowing elements from many many many series in history, in the name of cool or popular appeal while not understanding how to use effectively what it borrows well, to incorporate it into it's own formula.
DeleteI think of it like, OK I wanna lets say, make a DmC-style Mega Man? So I Make a series in a world modeled like a robotic waste land, I change the atmosphere, and setting give it a darker tone and design a protagonist and supporting characters accordingly to fit that setting. Or in instances where the characters that exist in the series already work well with the setting I maybe redesign them to fit more and use them instead. Then I set it in an alternate universe or timeline. I barrow elements and features that made Mega Man stand out, then I apply them to the new game in a sensible fashion. So let's say I make it so you can choose which stages and bosses you could play after an intro stage, I add melodic music with a genre style (Techno, Rock, Jazz etc) to suit the game while still reminiscent of previous titles. Then I add the ability to gain boss weapons and use them on bosses that are weak against them, but to spice it up, it only does a specific effect to the boss or maybe the area the boss is in. Maybe I have to have a certain level on the weapon, by leveling it up, for it to truly shine, or something. This way fans of the series that also likes DmC can enjoy the game, and those that dislike it don't ever have to follow or play it, because I created it with both groups in mind.
Now here is how Sonic Team would approach this situation. WOW DmC is making a lot of money, why not make a DmC Sonic? So they take regular old Sonic (or any popular Sonic character) plop him in a dark and gritty DmC-like universe, don't even study or are well in tuned to the mechanics of what makes DmC great, then adds broken s*** to the gameplay engine, stuff that doesn't work well with either franchises. All this while making the most retarded narrative, utilizing the features and atmosphere of DmC while connecting to Sonic's main plot continuity, while using those asinine anamorphic character designs that had no business being in that setting in the first place.
If this were to happen tho, the MM game would get ridiculed and mocked by fans and media alike with crap like 'this is not MM are you stupid crapcom?' 'I never ask for this stop trying to make MM DmC' all with the admission that the theme and game mechanics do work well, by a large majority, as an individual product. Then it sells like crap .
Meanwhile the Sonic game gets panned by reviewers saying the game doesn't work together with it's theme, reporting many bugs and glitches, but it sales like gold because kids eat it up, because it's DmC, edgy, sexy Sonic so why not, right? Only for Sonic to be pimped out by SEGA again and again, and move on to its next source of inspiration and shock value.
sorry I meant anthropomorphic* not anamorphic. Stupid spell check >_>'
DeleteLOL! Sorry but I played Sonic and I disliked it. Quit being stuck up! :P
Delete*shakes head*
Deletethat doesn't even sound coherent.
@Bassds Then your reading comprehension must be really low.
DeleteIf you don't get it, Anon3 says Sonic sucks.
You say no it doesn't it's equal to MM.
Anon4 goes on a rant about how its just opinion, but in his opinion Sonic sucks for various reasons.
Anon5 (guessing it's anon3 again) retorts by playing your words against you, stating his opinion yet again about Sonic.
You come back and act like you've been knocked over the head with a baseball bat. That's as simple as it gets, if it is still incoherent, I don't know what else to tell you. Maybe read more books or forums for commonsense?
No. That whole wall of text just sounds completely redundant.
DeleteRedundant/=coherent. It made perfect sense to me.
DeleteThe gist being, Sonic has no identity and that Sonic strayed from what it once was in an incompetent way. Period. I skipped the two walls of examples the first time I read it, but read it now so that I could break it down for you.
It basically says as coy as possible that.
Mega Man Legends, and/or Mega Man BN along with Command Missions, B&C etc are sensible adaptations into different genres and expansions for the Mega Man franchise.
While Sonic and the Black Knight, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Chronicles, Sonic the Fighters, 06 etc were not, I'm guessing. Period, done, simple, move on from these opinions dude.
Oh my. The original Battle Network? Can't say I'm looking forward to that. I am happy about X3, though.
ReplyDeleteThis is extremely nice.
ReplyDeletei wished it was legends games included but this works just fine.
ReplyDeleteBattle Chip Challenge? Heeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllsssssssss yyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI mean it looks like it sucks but I've always wanted to play it.
It's in my personal opinion the worst game ever created.
DeleteI love Battle network 3, not to mention I owned the original NES Megaman 5 & 6! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteSee. I told you X3 was coming sooner or later. Oh wait, I'm an anonymous source, nobody would even know or care. :(
ReplyDeleteEither way, glad people are finally going to get to play the ORIGINAL version of X3 legitimately without paying with an arm and a leg.I just hope it ends up driving the price down of the SNES version because I'd like to own it still.
Do you have any more insider info that you can share? Like maybe of any more classic MM games will be headed to PS Store?
DeleteI hope someday we can finally get GBA and SNES games on 3DS Virtual Console. Not all of us want to hack a PSP to play portable SNES and GBA games, and some of us crazy people actually want to give Nintendo money!
ReplyDeleteIf only the bn games had online play
ReplyDeleteWell, although this may be good, its still too bad they won't bring up Mega Man 8, Mega Man X4 to 8, Mega Man Legends series, and even Super Rockman Adventures and Battle & Chase.
ReplyDeleteHeck yes! That completes my Capcom VS wish list.

ReplyDeleteI'm all set.
MMZ games are kinda pointless considering there is Mega Man Zero Collection for the DS, but the others are good.
ReplyDeleteExcept Battle Chip Challenge. I hope it is released after the first 3 MMBN games, because it will very likely drive newcomers away from the MMBN series. Not a good title to start...
Sweet! I look forward to the Wii U releases especially!
ReplyDelete*Still on the side patiently waiting for the ingles version of Operate Shooting Star*
