As we've discussed in the past, Mega Man has been making a huge splash in Capcom's Sound Rangers: Rhythm and Battle. As one of the company's most marketable, recognizable icons, Mega Man and friends are constantly appearing in the game in the form of playable characters. More recently, however, Robot Masters are showing up again... and they're putting up a fight.
For your viewing pleasure, here's some gameplay from the most recent Mega Man-themed event. It's a fight against Cut Man in a no-holds-barred musical throw-down. If you've ever played Elite Beat Agents, you know how this works. You tap, hold and slide in time to the music (remixed Mega Man music, no less). Things can get pretty crazy, so watch out for random difficulty spikes. If you're interested, hit the jump below to see Snake Man and Flash Man's stages.
For a low budget iPhone game, Capcom's Sound Rangers: Rhythm and Battle is actually pretty fun. The game is free to play, so if you want to set up a Japanese iPhone account, you can check it out for yourself.
Damn... that Cutman boss battle remix was awesome! Wouldn't mind hearing that in Smash Bros or if a remake ever happens!
ReplyDeleteAh! Seems you watch the same channel I do. I thought this might interest you, so I'm glad you already posted it!
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeleteThe gameplay seems a little disconnected. The beats during the basic enemy phase didn't seem to sync up all that well with the actual song playing.
But the remixed songs sounded pretty cool and the sync between the inputs and the songs seemed to get a bit better at that phase.
The Snakeman and Flash Man remixes aren't even original.
ReplyDeleteThey're good, to be sure, but you'd think they'd do them again for something like this. Or perhaps I overestimate Capcom again.
Wow EX Troopers are in this? I love Tiki!
