In lieu of anything from Capcom, the Mega Man fan games really seem to be coming out in force... or maybe we just have more time to focus on them these days. Whatever the case, here's a neat project from Drsypher and HeatPhoenix: Mega Man Battle Network 3D.
As you might have guessed, they're attempting to recreate the tried and true Battle Network formula in 3D. "Battle chips, navis and program advances are all back in three dimensions in Mega Man Battle Network 3D," reads the above video's description. "Collect chips and build your own folder and take on a variety of battles and challenges!"
According to "Team MMBN3D", the project aims to combine the very best elements of all the Mega Man Battle Network games into one engine. The game will be available on PC later this summer.

Thanks for the heads up, Team MMBN3D!
Awesome! And it even says "coming summer 2014". Yay!
ReplyDeleteWow I love MMBN3D
ReplyDeleteWhy don't people appreciate spites? Sprites are the bombs dudes! Just improve on them with higher resolution and more fluid animation and we're golden.
ReplyDeleteNot bad.
ReplyDeleteI've wanted this forever!
ReplyDeleteThis is... a step up from Network Transmission's 3D models. But it still needs a lot of polish to really shine.
ReplyDeleteNo it is not a step up on Network Transmission's 3D models. What the heck are you smoking?
DeleteActually, Network Transmission's models were kind of cruddy. They just kept the camera far away and used nice shading. http://oi60.tinypic.com/34hyzd2.jpg
DeleteYeah as oppose to this up in your face 6 frame animated 3D master piece huh?
DeleteI hope the game is really "something" epic and worked, it's a fangame but i miss really a good EXE game..... if we can have some transformations (like Soul or cross) or netnavi playable, it could be cool.... <3
ReplyDeleteI miss EXE games!!! :'(
