Capcom Unity Hosting Mega Man 10 Leaderboard Contest
Think you're pretty good at Mega Man 10? Tackle Capcom Unity's leadboard challenge and you could win one of eight free 25th anniversary statues.
Each Friday Brett Elston will name a Mega Man 10 stage on either Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, and one week later the player with the best time (i.e tops Capcom Unity's "Friend" filter for MM10 'Time Attack' rankings) will win a statue. That same Friday another stage will named and the challenge continues until all eight Robot Master stages are completed. Capcom Unity will do four stages for Xbox 360 and four stages for PS3. In all, eight chances to come out on top.
If you'd like to give this a shot, check out the full details here. Best of luck!

Time to brush up on my MM skills and win a statue!
ReplyDeleteNot interesting. Making Megaman 11 instead!
ReplyDeleteThis game was released for the Wii as well....guess we're out of luck though.
ReplyDeleteYeah, elbowing out the Wii crowd is kind of a crappy thing to do. But the contest is kind of neat on it's own merit. I'd take a shot at it except I already have two of those statues and I'm far better at speed running Megaman 9.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I suspect that the reason the Wii users are excluded from this contest is because Capcom-Unity knows they'd beat the snot out of the competition, kinda like why they ban Akuma from tournament play.
"Yeah! I'm gonna win that statue... (reads it's PS3 and Xbox 360 only) ...crap..."
ReplyDelete@Rockman Craze: I think it has something to do with the Wii not having as many internet options like the PS3 and Xbox 360?
The reason they're excluding the Wii version is because the Wii leaderboards for Mega Man 9 and 10 are hacked to hell and back, and are in no way reliable.
ReplyDeleteIt's probably for both of these reasons, but it's more than likely the hacking that made their decision to exclude the Wii version that much easier.
DeleteFor this reason, unfortunately, I can't compete at all, thanks to my purchasing Mega Man 10 on the Wii only. And I love these types of competitions, too. See what cheating gets you?
Now that you mentioned it, I remember that in one Wii replay (Wily Castle 4?) the player did nothing but mess around in the beginning of the stage. All records should contain a replay video to proof that it isn't obtained by cheating. (and allow others to learn how to get better times XD)
