Meet the Electrifying Mighty No. 3!
Another Monday is upon us and that means another Mighty No. 9 boss reveal. So give a warm welcome to Mighty No .3. As you've no doubt noticed, Number 3 is a female robot whose fundamental attacks involve using electricity.
Much of her body is compossed of lightening rods. She can control a number of little drum conductors that can be used in a number of ways, from clinging to walls to redirecting electrical currents or acting as a shield. Her cloak is designed to resemble a vinyl umbrella. When she uses her electricity attacks, her whole body lights up and can be seen through the cloak!
Personally speaking, Number 3 is my favorite boss design yet. It's a simple design with a lot of personality. As per usual, a lot of work went into her development. Check out today's Kickstarter update for more concept art and details!

I think these designs are getting progressively worse, but it's nice to see that a female boss will be included in the game.
ReplyDeleteWhat don't you like about these designs? I think they've been pretty imaginative so far. Definitely quite a bit different from anything I've seen in the Mega Man series, which is good because for a while I was worried this new IP would be too derivative.
DeleteWow, do you ever stop complaining? (yes i support mighty no 9 since capcom keeps fucking up when it comes to megameen)
Delete@Anonymous:
DeleteI can't put my finger on it exactly, but something about the designs just seem...off, for some reason. Maybe I'm just more used to the humanoid designs that the Robot Masters had in the Mega Man series, or maybe I just happened to prefer some of the prototype design sketches they've shown. I thought those looked a lot better.
@Zerker:
...What are you on about? I simply said I was not impressed with the designs, and I left it at that. That hardly qualifies as a complaint at all. Aside from that, the only real "complaining" I've done on this site (not counting the few times I've criticized your beloved Xover) was about the Mega Man 2 craze that the series was stuck in as of Mega Man 9, and I've barely had anything to say about either of those games in about two years.
bring on the rule34
ReplyDeleteLOL...
Deleteno.
YES
DeleteNeed to see more of her "thunder bits"
Delete(pretty sure there's already R34 on her)
I'd like to light her up with my rod. *bricked*
ReplyDeleteNah, just playin'. But seriously, that looks tight. Getting more hyped for this by the day.
Heh she has Raijin drums cute.
ReplyDeletelooks better than most of the recent MM bosses, these guys have outdone themselves!
ReplyDeleteAfter how they said there would be no more female Robot Masters after Splash Woman, I'm happy to see that they decided to go ahead and include a female robot with the rest of Mighty 9's cast. I kind of wondered if her silhouette was supposed to be female.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a nice surprise. I had expected it to be all male. Here's hoping for at least one or two more female mighty numbers to keep things interesting.
ReplyDeleteHer announcement blurb on the main Kickstarter page says "Our first female Mighty No. boss, and already one of our favorite characters yet!".
DeleteThe use of the word first might imply there is at least one more.
Looks pretty fragile, with that bulby body of hers.
ReplyDeleteIt would be freaky to see her shatter to pieces...
Still, well done! :D
@ Dr. Jerk: "They?" This no Capcom.
ReplyDeleteOf course I know that.
DeleteI think it might've been Inafune who said that specifically, but I cannot remember. Either way, I'm happy to see that Inafune and the rest working on this are allowing a female robot.
why is it that for most of the mighty no. 9 bosses the early concept designs all look much better then the final design?
ReplyDeleteI actually preferred the concept art design where she was armless and her thunder bits formed floating arms for her.
ReplyDeleteOh well.
Really awesome!
ReplyDeleteLooks like Elecman.EXE's psychotic sister.
