Mega Man 25th Anniversary Statue Hitting Mailboxes
Just a friendly heads up: it appears the limited edition 25th anniversary Mega Man statue is arriving in mailboxes this week. That is, if you pre-ordered from the Capcom Store back in May. JonBon sent in this image of his freshly unpacked statue, which just arrived this morning. Five other Rockman Corner readers recieved shipping notifications over the weekend too, so keep a lookout for the mailman!
If by chance you didn't pre-order, Capcom intends to sell more statues at their Comic-Con booth for $100. As for the Capcom Store... well, I don't know. There's been no word on a second wave, but we'll keep an ear out.
Thanks to JonBon, Eric, and RockX for the tips!

Yeah I just got mine now from UPS. Wasn't expecting it till Thursday. Opened up the box and smelled paint. Actually it smelled like auto paint... I took the bag off and looked at the figure. It's actually bigger then I thought. I did see a few lines of glue on him that I was able to smudge off but there is some small lines of it near his face and behind his arm cannon that I can't reach. Luckily you can't notice it unless you are looking for something. Capcom made 1,600 of this statue. I got number 125... Weather the ones that Capcom is selling at SDCC is a part of the 1,600 I don't know. We'll find out soon...
ReplyDeleteInteresting! Yeah, got my notification sometime last week. Didn't receive it via mail yet, so maybe it'll be UPS for me.
ReplyDeleteAre they including the inflatable buster arm with it like they are the Comic-Con purchases? I'll admit, I will be a little irritated if they don't since we committed way before the Comic-Con goers. But as with all things Capcom, "keep your expectations in check".
ReplyDeleteThat's what I was hoping too. It wouldn't be very fair if they didn't. As far as I can see from JonBon's pics, I don't see one. He didn't mention receiving one either. =/
DeleteMine should be coming thursday with any luck, I'll post some pictures.
ReplyDeleteI got mine today!
ReplyDeleteNo it didn't come with the inflatable buster or any other free goodies...
ReplyDeleteI got mine yesterday, no inflatable buster and there's a giant scuff on his arm in the front that goes far enough down to see the paint color under the metallic blue. Few other scuffs and nicks on it too, but that one was the worst. Hopefully capcom will be able to swap it out without too much of a hassle!
ReplyDeleteIs the scuff a white line? Try to wet a qtip and gently rub it. It might come off. Mine did.
DeleteI wish. The scuff is a matte finish oval that goes deeper than the gloss coat and metallic blue paint to reveal the lighter blue resin that the statue is built from. It's more like a gouge than a scuff i suppose.
Deletestupid quality control
Oh, that sucks! I'm sorry for ya. I hope you get it replaced.
DeleteJust got mine. Now all I need is a place to put it...
ReplyDeletePretty big mound of poop that they don't come with the busters. I suppose that's compensation for the people who buy a statue, on top of the entry fee to the con. Makes sense, I suppose, but still a drag. =/
ReplyDeleteHaven't received mine yet, but I reckon I'll report back with an analysis of it's condition and quality.
I got mine today after missing the mailman yesterday. Having a bit of the same paint/glue problems as others that aren't major issues. What really annoys me is the back of the helmet. There is a small nick on the light blue part where I see white. Then there is also a HAIR under the paint of the metallic blue. A bit disappointed, but still glad I have it. I've emailed Capcom to see if there is something I can have done about the hair under the paint.
ReplyDeleteJust got mine, and sweet lordy, this this is bigger than I thought. I have a tiny little white glue/paint spot above the right earpice that I'll try to get off later, and a little unpainted part on the underside crevice of his helmet, but nothing major or that noticeable to cause any concern. Boy, that paint smell was strong when I unboxed it. #105 outta 1600; I'm good with that.
ReplyDeleteFor all the issues/worry over his face and the armor color, I honestly think they did a great job with it overall. Color me impressed.
Again sounds like Capcom was rushing to get this available for the fans and for SDCC. They should have taken more time and quality checking the statues. Yes mine has glue lines that were easy to rub off, except for those on his left cheek and by his mouth. Can't reach them because it's so close to his arm cannon. There is one or two smudge marks on him but not that big of a deal. As long as there's no scratches or dings or cracks...
ReplyDeleteI don't even know why you guys are buying this overpriced thing. His face still doesn't look good..
ReplyDeleteI got both of mine yesterday. I got #1004 and #1107. Not too shabby.
ReplyDeleteThere is a small matter of cleaning them up, which could have been done at the factory. I mean these are hand-painted statues as far as I can tell. But both of mine had a good amount of hot glue residue around the joints and crevices.
On the subject of the eyes, they actually DO look a lot better than I thought they would. Truth be told, the eyes don't photograph well. I think it's the angle of the head.
It's still a damn cool statue, and it's interesting to note that the statue has a USB2 cord with detachable adapter. I've actually plugged it into my laptop and it works! I know it's a rather insignificant gimmick, but the novelty of it is just so cool to me: A light-up Megaman statue that can be powered by a PC.
It's so appropriate.
Just letting everyone know that the Mega Man and X Statue is up for pre order and only a 1000 are being made... Again it's going to be around $120.00 with the shipping and method you choose...
ReplyDeleteReceived mine today! Number 138. After taking out, plugging it in, inspecting it, the works, I have to say I am actually very impressed. Both the statue and stand are very sturdy and rather heavy. I like it, it feels very premium. It's also a pretty large. Truly an attractive piece and a nice sculpt overall. At first, I didn't know how I would like the metallic paint, but it works out just fine. All lights worked accordingly and there were minimal, if any glue spots or streaks. No dents or dings. To sum it all up, I am very pleased with my purchase. $125 is kinda a lot, yes, but once you own one and see it in its splendor, you can't really fault it.
ReplyDeleteGot mine yesterday. Noticed the right leg (looking straight at it, my right) that has the wires, was loose. I wiggled it and it fell off, but was dangling by the wires inside. Since it stands its not a huge deal and I guess I can just glue it back on.
