Brace Yourself: Plush Servbot Hat Incoming
Yet more official Servbot paraphernalia from our friends at GE Entertainment. The latest North American product listings have outed the existence of an absolutely charming plush hat, complete with pincer arms. Dare I say, this is the best piece of Servbot merch I've seen in a long time. It's not Servbot pudding levels of awesome, but still pretty darn fantastic. Perfect convention wear.
Release date and price has yet to be determined. My wallet, though, is open. Just, seriously, just take however much you need, GE.

Mega Man 10 Coming to "Capcom Essentials" Pack (Update)
EBGames Canada has outed the existence of a PlayStation 3 product called "Capcom Essentials", which is slated to launch on October 8th. The package reportedly includes Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising 2, Super Street Fighter IV, Resident Evil 6, and Mega Man 10. That's five games for $60 US.
Now, I'm going to go out on a limb and say this is not the physical release for Mega Man 10 many have hoped for. If this product is similar to Journey: Collector's Edition, the disc may simply include just the installer files for each game. In other words, the five games technically aren't on the disc, but you launch them as if you bought them off of PSN without having to connect to the internet. All speculation, of course.
Whatever the case, I think it's sort of nice we might get some physical representation of Mega Man 10. But would you pay $60 just to fill a space in your shelf?
UPDATE: Xbox 360 version has been listed as well.

Localized D-Arts Bass Now Available (Update)
Just a friendly heads up -- Amazon has begun shipping Bluefin USA's version of Bandai's D-Arts Bass action figure. So if you're on a budget and don't feel like kneeling to exorbitant import shipping fees, this one is for you. Grab yours here before they're gone.
As a reminder, the localized D-Arts figures are no different than their Japanese counterparts. Same figure, same accessories. The only true difference is the packaging; Mega Man branding instead of Rockman. No biggie.
UPDATE: Amazon's having a bit of a, um, glitch? The figure is not shipping. From Amazon, at least. So... yeah. You might want to look elsewhere right now.
Thanks to Chris Carter for the tip!

Say Hello to Rockman Nanoblocks
Ever heard of Nanoblocks? They're these Japanese LEGO-type bricks, but significantly smaller. Anyway, a set of Rockman Nanoblocks are coming to to e-Capcom. There is a Rockman set and a Cut Man set. Each set comes with just enough blocks to make accessories, enemies and other fun stuff.
The sets are scheduled to launch in October for 1,890 Yen a pop (roughly$19.25 US). There is a growing market of Nanoblocks here in the states, so perhaps we'll see them on our shelves too! I'll keep an eye out.

MMBN6 Boktai Sidequest Now in English
Here's a little treat for all you Mega Man Battle Network fans. The Rockman EXE Zone has released an English translation patch for Battle Network 6's special Boktai sidequest. If you recall, this crossover scenario with Konami's solar boy was completely gutted from localized versions. But now, several years later, we can enjoy it!
The video above shows the translation in its entirety. Hit up the Rockman EXE Zone for the download (be sure to read the instructions!). Enjoy and May the Sun be With You!

Servbot Heads Are Back for Dead Rising 3
From the outset, it was evident Dead Rising 3 was taking a darker approach to zombie-bashing than its two predecessors. Initial trailers and screenshots made it seem like the series' weird, dark humor was jettisoned. That's what made Dead Rising fun, after all. It didn't take itself too seriously. It didn't need to.
Fortunately fans need not worry. Capcom Vancouver has provided a healthy batch of new images touting the return of the insane humor. Among the lot, a shot of protagonist Nick Ramos thwarting of zombies in a Servbot head and dress with a toy teddy bear. Awesome? Yes. Unsettling? Yes.
So there we go; the humor is back and so are the oversized Servbot masks. Makes you wonder if the Mega Man X and Proto Man armors will return too. I mean why not? Everyone loves slagging zombies with a working Mega Buster.

Capcom's Considering Bringing Rockman Xover Outside of Japan
In a recent interview with Game Watch, Capcom staff expressed further interest in bringing Rockman Xover overseas. They say a release in North America and Europe is not out of the question, but the team are currently focused on strengthening the Japanese version via software updates, new promotions, etc.
On the contrary, it appears Capcom actually launched Rockman Xover in Korea a few short days ago on iOS and Android without warning. So, yeah, it's probably coming our way sooner than later.
Brace yourselves.

One More Shot of PrototypeZ Studio's Mega Man X
By way of Tomopop, here's an additional shot of PrototypeZ Studio's upcoming Mega Man X sculpt. From the looks of it, I believe we're looking at a concept mold. A few small cosmetic elements are probably subject to change by the time the final sculpt goes on sale.
Still no word on price or release date, but I have reached out for comment. I did learn, though, that the sculpt is being handled by the talented Erick Sosa (sculpting) and Burjis Shroff (CG modeling). In fact, you can see Burjis' conceptual X render here. From CG image to the resin figure above, things have already changed quite a bit.
I don't know about you, but I'm looking forward this one!

Mega Man X Model Kit Revealed at SDCC
Spotted at the San Diego Comic-Con preview night, here's a sneak peek at PrototypeZ Studio's 1:6 scale Mega Man X model. It remains to be seen if we're looking at a prototype mold, or if a paint job is required to complete it. Nevertheless, it looks pretty great so far.
No word on price or release date. Stay tuned for updates.

Mega Man 25th Anniversary Statue Hitting Mailboxes
Just a friendly heads up: it appears the limited edition 25th anniversary Mega Man statue is arriving in mailboxes this week. That is, if you pre-ordered from the Capcom Store back in May. JonBon sent in this image of his freshly unpacked statue, which just arrived this morning. Five other Rockman Corner readers recieved shipping notifications over the weekend too, so keep a lookout for the mailman!
If by chance you didn't pre-order, Capcom intends to sell more statues at their Comic-Con booth for $100. As for the Capcom Store... well, I don't know. There's been no word on a second wave, but we'll keep an ear out.
Thanks to JonBon, Eric, and RockX for the tips!

Archie Mega Man's Ryan Jampole Nominated for Harvey Award
The Executive Committee of the Harvey Awards and Baltimore Comic-Con have announced the nominees for the 2013 Harvey Awards. Ryan Jampole earned a nomination in "Most Promising New Talent" for his work on Archie Comic's Mega Man. He penciled issues #19 through #23 and select Worlds Collide variant covers.
Unlike the Eisner Awards, the Harvey Awards are nominated and selected by the comic book professionals themselves. The winners will be announced at Baltimore Comic-Con on September 7th. Congratulations and best of luck, Ryan!

The Rockman Soccer Commercial Has Been Found
For your viewing pleasure, here is the lost Japanese commercial for Rockman Soccer featuring dazzling animation and comedy singer-songwriter Tatsuo Kamon flying around on a jetpack. Yeah, it's pretty awesome.
For those wondering, the song is "We Are Rockman." You can hear the full version here but be warned you: it gets really, really crazy. There's a very special "moment" at 0:46. It's so bizarre, so oddly out of place that no one has ever been able to explain it. Do enjoy.
Thanks to Hikachi8 for the heads up!
8-Bit Legends 3 Prototype Version Demo Released
Get Me Off The Moon has released the first demo for the fan-made 8-bit version of Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version. The playable stage challenges you to destroy 50 Reaverbots as Barrett.
Now before you jump at the download, do note that your PC must be set to Japan regional mode. You can read up on Skybane's post here on how to do it, or download a little program called AppLocale to run the game with your current locale settings. This issue should be sorted out by the time the full version is released, due out later this August.

Could There Be Mega Man News At Comic-Con?
New information regarding Capcom's 2013 Comic-Con panel has surfaced courtesy of the official SDCC schedule. Among topics intended to be discussed, “The World of Capcom Games" panel will reportedly bring Mega Man 25th anniversary information and a "few other surprises":
"Moderator Francis Mao (CAPCOM) leads a panel of CAPCOM's producers and product managers to share the latest details on all their upcoming games, such as Dead Rising 3, Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, Lost Planet 3, and DuckTales: Remastered, as well as information about Mega Man's 25th Anniversary, and a few other surprises! Plus, some lucky fans will be invited to play the CAPCOM 30th Anniversary Trivia Contest to win cool prizes!
Thursday July 18, 2013 3:30pm - 4:30pm Room 6BCF
At the very least we can expect to hear a little Smash Bros talk and maybe something Archie related. But given the fact we're seven months into the 25th anniversary, I like to believe it's about time we heard something about the future.
We'll just have to wait and see how things play out. For the time being, set your expectations appropriately.

Capcom Hit By Lay-Offs, Christian Svensson Steps Down
Unfortunate news on the Capcom front today. According to a Polygon report, the company is undergoing a staff reorganization, resulting in the resignation of its Senior Vice-President Christian Svensson.
Svensson shared the news on his Facebook, saying that he volunteered to be let go as part of the reorganization. He did not say who else has been affected, but said "sadly, I'm not the only one affected by the reorganization today. Over the next few days, I'll be gathering resumes from as many as I can and will be sending them out to my contacts around the industry to see if there's a 'love connection' to be made."
Svensson has been part of Capcom U.S for eight years, candidly serving as the mediator between Mega Man fans and Capcom Japan's head honchos. He's an advocate in getting the franchise back on its feet; keenly aware of the community's diverse opinions. Though the fruit of his labor has yet to become apparent (a new game, a new direction for the franchise, etc.), know that he has tried to do right.
“I’ve had the opportunity to interface with the best fans any company could ever hope to have,” he continued. “I know that I wasn’t always able to deliver what they wanted, but I promise that I did my best to champion their needs and wants. So thank you to the fans who made my job rewarding, challenging, and, if nothing else, interesting.”
I wish Svensson good luck on his future endeavors.

Destructoid Reveals Mega Man #31 Covers
Our friends over at Destructoid have just gotten their hands on the two variant covers for Mega Man #31, which make up part three of the “Blackout: The Curse of Ra Moon” story arc. Fan favorite Patrick Spaziante is handling the visuals on the "regular" cover, while Brent McCarthy's work dazzles the variant.
No sign of the solicitation yet, but we do know this issue will introduce Ra Thor, a guardian created by the sentient alien super-computer Ra Moon. Mega Man and Break Man appear to be teaming up for the first time too. Will they take on this new menace?
Hit up Destructoid for those covers. They're in high resolution and look fantastic!

Mega Man 2.5D Coming Later This Year
It's been a long time since we last heard from Peter Sjostrand’s Mega Man 2.5D fan-game, but an announcement has been posted to YouTube. The above trailer reveals the project is well on its way to completion, with the first single player co-op stage based on Shadow Man's domain due later this year.
For the uninitiated, Mega Man 2.5D is a new take on classic 8-bit gameplay combining 2D sprites with dizzying 3D environments. You can see the original 2009 pitch here and a year-by-year retrospective at The Mega Man Network.
Look forward to more news soon!

'Mega Man Revolution' Fan-Game Finally Arrives
Mega Man Revolution is a fan-game that began development way back in 2002. Due to a string of bad luck, it went through several instances of on-again, off-again development. Today, however, the team is pleased to announce the full game, front to back, is done and released. You can download version 7.0.0 from the official website here.
For those unaware, Revolution is an 8-bit adventure built from the ground up for PC. The entire game is designed to meticulously emulate the NES classics, right down to sprite flickering and slow down. Much like Mega Man 9, these effects can be toggled. A co-op mode is currently on the burner, which sounds like a lot of fun. To learn more about the game, visit Fifth Independent.
Thanks for the tip, spd12!
There's a New Rockman Xover Boss Contest
No less than a few months after the previous boss contest, Capcom is kicking off one more for everyone's favorite iOS/Android app Rockman Xover. This time there's a theme: they're looking for entries that represent each of the 47 prefectures of Japan.
Indeed, this one is going to be difficult to enter if you don't live in Japan. But you can look forward to the contest's byproducts: a batch of new Battle Memory cards. According to Famitsu's report, 11 grand prize winners will have their characters made into Battle Memory cards (as opposed to being made into an actual boss) . They will also receive a special Battle Memory available only to contest winners, and an E Tank water bottle.
Nico Nico Seiga is handling the submissions once again. The dealine is September 2nd, and we should start seeing the winning Battle Memories in early October.

Black Zero is the Next D-Arts
Hot on the heels of yesterday's post, Rockman Unity's Ucchy has revealed the next character to get the D-Arts treatment: Black Zero. If you've been keeping track, you'll note Black Zero came in 10th place in the recent character poll. He was also teased back at the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con.
Black Zero will ship with the same accessories that the Zero Type 2 figure included, but his Z-Saber is purple. That's three purple Z-Sabers, four detachable hands, two faces and a normal arm. Black Zero will be a Premium Bandai figure in Japan, but I've recieved word from our friends at Tamashii Nations and Bluefin that the figure will indeed be headed stateside. We'll have more news (and images) soon.

We're Getting an Official Mega Man Board Game
No relation to RockBoard. Sorry!
This is something I've known about for a little while now, but it looks like the cat is (almost) out of the bag. So here it is: Jasco Games, makers of the Universal Fighting System trading card game, have announced they will be producing a Mega Man board game. It's an officially licensed product due somewhere between late 2013/early 2014.
...and that's all that can be said for now. I've spoken with Jasco and it sounds like I should be getting a few images of the board and additional details soon. We'll keep you up to date!

Closer Look at D-Arts Ultimate Armor X
Rockman Unity's Ucchy has returned from a trip to Bandai's headquarters, and he's returned with a batch of images showing off D-Arts Ultimate Armor X. We get a great look at the figure's detail (the translucent effect looks great), as well as the detachable jet accessory. There's also a brief peek at the upcoming Figuarts ZERO Sigma. Click here for the report.
Ucchy also adds Bandai are just about ready to reveal the next D-Arts following the recent character survey. Those details will come in a future update. Stay tuned!

Yellow Devil is the Smash Bros. Pic of the Day
The daily Super Smash Bros. screenshots on Nintendo's site are kicking the week off with a closer look at Yellow Devil. The big guy made a brief appearance at the end of the SSB announcement trailer some weeks back. This time we get to see his eye and hands! Pay no mind to Kirby; he's just hanging out.
Yellow Devil's role in the game is entirely up for speculation. Is he a boss that shows up in the single player mode? Perhaps an adversary for an event mode of sorts? Or, just maybe, a hazard for Dr. Wily's stage? It could be a while before we find out.
Thanks to Jeremy for the tip.
