Okay, so Capcom did not flat out confirm a new Mega Man game at PAX East. It was a statement taken out of context. But hey, there was still some good news from the panel. In addition to release dates for Mega Man 4 and Mega Man 5 on the eShop, Capcom revealed the production of two new figures.
The first figure is a USB powered statue due out this summer at the San Diego Comic-Con. You can see a hi-res image of it after the break. The second figure has Mega Man and Mega Man X together as a representation of the X series' upcoming anniversary. This figure will be exclusive to the Capcom Store (source: Siliconera) .

I just can't be excited by this. The fact that we STILL dont have anything solid on a Mega Man game for the 25th fucking anniversary, while Ducktales, of all Capcom games, gets an HD remake, is just shameful, and all we really get are two commemorative 25th statues?

ReplyDeleteWayforward seems to be doing most of the work, Capcom just brought in since it is a remake of their game after all.
I'm not fond of the games art style but they sold it to me when they announced they're bringing back many of the VAs from the Duck Tales cartoon to read lines.
Hehe, I have a ton of MegaMan figures, but I can't very well go without these : ) They do look pretty great.

You know, some merchandise just doesn't cut it, but I think now they're thinking more like an anniversary. We had a statue for the 10th, remember? I just wonder how much both of these will be...probably pricey. They are pretty nice-looking. Interested to see what the Rock and X one looks like with some color.

As a collector of toys, this makes me happy. :D I do like action figures and not BS like an overpriced lanyard and some dumb air fresheners.
