Nintendo Holding Discount Rockman Sale on 3DS eShop
The Japanese Nintendo 3DS eShop is celebrating the Blue Bomber's 25th anniversary with a little sale. Starting today, all six Famicom Rockman games will be priced at 400 Yen each-- down from 500 Yen a pop. The sale concludes on January 7, 2013.
I'd like to be hopeful about a similar deal hitting America... but we still don't have any of these games. It can't be much longer now, right? Right?!

And meanwhile CoA has 12 days to figure out some kind of anything to do.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how bad it'll be when the day arrives and they don't do anything.
Meanwhile telling us to wait for December while Street Fighter got some huge box.
(Folds arms and glances at Capcom USA) ...Well?
ReplyDeleteWait did they say wait till December for a announcement? I thought we were suppose to hear something a while ago... *confused*
ReplyDeleteAll I got to say is - we better get a huge box too... A Mega Man figure, Art book, a 11 disc soundtrack collection, maybe the OVA and Ruby Spears cartoon on a blue Ray. Along with a game collection... There's no reason why they can't do this since they already did it with Street Fighter
Ruby-Spears cartoon on bluray? Someone mentioned Ruby-Spears Mega Man?
ReplyDeleteYou are my new best friend.
I thought it was Nintendo's choice on what to put on the VC and eShop?
ReplyDelete@MagicalWingLT
ReplyDeleteThe difference is modern Capcom cares about Street Fighter.
We'll be lucky if we even get 25th anniversary T-shirts for Mega Man.
Ooh! Famicom carts! Nostalgia! :3
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me that here in America, Capcom will end up doing something that they've already done before, such as temporarily lowering the prices of games that have already been added to downloadable services, such as Mega Man 9, Mega Man 10, Maverick Hunter X, etc.
ReplyDeleteWoo...
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Rock...
@Dr. Jerk: They cant if both sides dont agree on it. Obviously theres something wrong on our end with CoA and NoA(since idk whose to blame). We're missing VC titles on the Wii still and the 3DS VC hasnt seen a peep outta Mega for a while, and neither side has really given an explaination for it.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I must also put the doomsday option out there.... Capcom of America is holding titles from the eshop because it has nothing for the anniversary so this is the only thing they can really do. Sad, but possibly true.
Maybe CoA will re-release the NES MM1-6 and GB MM1-5 (and+) included in the memory of a GB-like portable that can run NGB and SGG carts? :P
ReplyDeleteWhat?
400 Yen each-- down from 500 Yen a pop??
ReplyDeleteWow ? NO! It's silly. I would buy them right away if they are 250 or 300 Yen each --- down from 500 Yen does make a sense. Do the math. Jeez.
Calling it now:
ReplyDeletePS Store:
-All Megaman branded products 75% off
-Bundle of MM9 and 10 with all DLC for $9.99 (or $4.99 for PS Plus)
Nintendo Stores:
-All currently released Megaman VC games on Wii Shop at 200 Points each
-MM9 and 10 priced to 500 Wii Points each
-MM9 and 10 DLC priced at 100 each
-MM GB VC games at $1.99 each
Xbox stores:
-MM9 and 10 bundle with DLC for 600 Microsoft Points
Oh, and Capcom Store will have a 10% discount on all their Megaman branch stuff.
And maybe a small article on the Capcom-Unity blog, with that picture of Keiji blowing out the candles of the Rockman cake again, for the 30th time.
Don't get your hopes up.
ReplyDeleteI say the best way to celebrate the 25th anniversary is to just sit down and play yourself some of the games again.
Especially the first.
