Rockman Corner reader Joshua sent over this interesting 25th anniversary comment from Capcom's corporate officer Christian Svensson. Check it out:
"In December 'some but not all' plans for the coming year of celebrations will be shared. There are many moving parts and not everything will be done and final come December. No one has promised a game or even an announcement of one at that time. Please do keep expectations in check." [source]
The only thing it seems we can be certain of is that Capcom will be doing something (i.e. "celebrations") involving Mega Man, at the very least. I get the feeling that after the widespread meltdown of Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe, Capcom won't be discussing the prospect of a new game until all the pieces are in place. The last thing we need is to have something announced prematurely and witness yet another cancellation because the project wasn't good and ready.
All we can do is simply wait and hope. And that's all that can be said for now, really.
Thanks for the tip Joshua!
If you're honestly surprised by this you have too much hope for your own good.
ReplyDeleteNo heroes left in etc etc.
ReplyDeleteCapcom snubbing us doesn't even hurt anymore. I'm used to it.
I wouldn't count on a new game ever :'(
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be sorta unrelated but: I think that the Star Force Mega Man in the image is going to give me nightmares.
ReplyDeleteinb4 "shut up zerker u idiot stahp going offtopic".
I am tired of waiting. I am tired of hoping.
ReplyDeleteThis is like telling your parents you want an action figure for your birthday and them saying "Nobody ever promised you a present. I have no idea where you got that idea from."
ReplyDeletePS: My condolences to those of you whose parents don't celebrate your birthday.
Correction for my comment: I meant ibn4. Whoops.
ReplyDeleteFuck this company.
ReplyDelete"This is gonna be sorta unrelated but: I think that the Star Force Mega Man in the image is going to give me nightmares."
ReplyDeleteIs that David Bowie?
"I am tired of waiting. I am tired of hoping."
Sounds like a Linkin Park song, but too true. At least they've finally admit they're not making any games. I mean, it's the 25th Anniversary, it's not like they didn't have enough time to plan a game release if they wanted to.
Remember everyone Mega Man is still an important brand to Capcom Sven said so himself and he's our best friend in Capcom and totally not just a PR guy with no real influence on what COJ does.
ReplyDeleteSurprisingly, I'm not the slightest bit disappointed. Because I don't expect anything from Capcom these days. Except games I have no interest in, like Resident Evil and Street Fighter x Tekken. Oh, and Devil May Cry. That's about all they do these days anyway.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, I am looking forward to Keiji Inafune's "J.J. Rockets" game. Provided it comes out on a platform I can actually play it on. ... and maybe in English. But that part's not a deal-breaker.
Damn you, Capcom. Just... damn, you. Especially COJ, since these guys are the ones who are responsible for making the games. >.< This is not really a suprise to me, though. I am just more disgusted with their typical, nonchalant behavior of the franchise.
ReplyDeleteI can't hate Capcom, itself, completely because Monster Hunter 3 Something got confirmed for WiiU.
ReplyDeleteInafune should just make a spiritual successor to Mega Man. I'm also tired of waiting and hoping.
ReplyDeleteIs that Mr. Famous behind the cake?
ReplyDeleteAnd look at Omega-Xis! His energy looks like fur! XD
No, Sven.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to keep my fucking expectations in check. Because you idiots have had all year to be planning something for Mega Man's 25th and you've screwed around doing nothing, focusing all your attention on the Street Fighter anniversary instead. You've canned two Mega Man games(possibly three) in the last year. Capcom has pretty much shown us exactly what the think of the franchise and us by their actions alone.
The 25th anniversary is your last chance with a lot of us to get your shit together and you don't look like your doing fuck all instill confidence or keep us as customers. You ought to be kissing our ass and promising us the moon(or to get someone off the moon) at this point. And so far we've got squat.
Fix this NOW. Because come Decemeber, that's the last chance you've got with me, and if you ain't got it right by then I'm done Capcom after that.
Everything seems to be in order, then.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous that said "Inafune should just make a spiritual successor to Mega Man. I'm also tired of waiting and hoping."
ReplyDeleteMaybe J. J. Rockets?
http://comcept.co.jp/projects/mobile/mobile01.html
MusashiAA:
ReplyDeleteIndeed. If nothing is in order, then, everything's in order.
Now new game? So how about a old one?
ReplyDeleteCapcom, can we haz MML3 prototype, pleaze? (Puss in Boots face)
I don't see how anyone is even surprised about this, I'm not going to have false hope for a new megaman game. I'll just keep enjoying the classic mm and mm x games that I grew up playing.
ReplyDeleteYeah, so in other words, they don't have anything special planned for the 25 Anniversary. Not surprised, really. What an absolute slap in the face.
ReplyDeleteThe smart money says that their idea of celebrating Mega Man's 25th is to have Gregaman make a post on Unity about how they're going to discount the prices on the Rockman Perfect Collection games. Not for release on the Vita, mind you, but for the PSP. And yes, if this sounds familiar, it's because they already did it back in August 2011. I'm honestly saying I wouldn't be surprised if they did it again but this time they'll put a "Happy 25th Birthday Megaman!" banner gif above it.
ReplyDeleteIf I must be optimistic (even though all empirical evidence suggests that I have no real reason to be even a little optimistic), then I'd like to believe that they'll rerelease Megaman X3, Mega Man VI and Mega Man VII for Wii Virtual Console and maybe one or two of the Game Boy MM titles for the 3DS VC. Maybe even the original NES MM for 3DS VC or Mega Man: The Wily Wars for Wii VC.
Yes, I'm setting the bar pretty low as it all pertains to rereleases but hey, I'll gladly pay for rereleases at this point if the act of purchasing them somehow suggests to Capcom that I'd like to see more MM in the future.
Not holding my breath, though.
it seems kinda strange to me that street fighter gets a anniversary release but megaman does not, sure street fighter is a big seller for capcom but megaman also was one of their big sellers that made the company successful. it's as if they have completely forgotten about how popular megaman was during the late 80s up until the mid 2000's. the least they could do us at least give us a ultimate collection of every classic mm and mm x game in one disc for ps3 and xbox 360 including mm 1-10, mm x 1-8, gameboy mm 1-5, gameboy color mm xtreme 1-2, wily wars, battle & chase, super adventure rockman, megaman & bass, power battles & power fighters, mmx command mission. now that would be a amazing collection to release for the anniversary, how hard would that be?
ReplyDeleteJ. J. Rockets looks like it has potential, but I sure wish it were on a console :(
ReplyDelete-ud
way to take a shit on your loyal customers and then piss on their mothers Capcom.
ReplyDeleteI've been saying it on and off in various comment threads here for months but we all need to consider that Mega Man is no longer a video game franchise instead purely a merchandise based one. Capcom seems to have no intent on making a game but is glad to make countless nicknacks and to them from a business stand point they probably don't see anything wrong.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bitter pill to swallow but the sooner we except Mega Man has moved away from video games towards pointless collectibles the sooner the we can stop being upset.
@9:56 Anon: I feel like if I did that, then I'd be giving in to despair and no longer trying to hold Capcom responsible for all their crap.
ReplyDeleteAnd really, how is "Megaman's been reduced to this" supposed to make anyone feel better?
"We're a game development company with a wildly popular franchise that hasn't seen a new game in some time and whose fans desperately want to throw money at us. That series is turning a quarter of a century old this year, but A NEW GAME IN THIS GAME SERIES IS TOO MUCH TO EXPECT. CHECK THEM UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS, FOLKS. CHECK 'EM."
ReplyDelete...And then there was this one time where I just accepted the fact that the glory days of the Blue Bomber were behind us and stopped getting mad at the corporate dickbags at Capcom Japan. It's easier this way.
ReplyDeleteIf something neat comes along eventually, then it will be a pleasant surprise. Much better than getting pissed every time Crapcom spews out the same old song and dance.
I honestly, not surprised in the least. But if the Blue Bomber's birthday is worse than what it is now, just screw everything.
ReplyDeleteI'm heading to NYCC this year again, I'm going to be forceful and see if I can get better answers or die trying, because I'm not letting a good IP go down the drain to a company that milks only 3 IPs. >:T
For those of you who say it's not worth getting mad at Capcom every time they say something stupid, we really angry people have been stuck on on high heat hate ever since the initial game cancellations, and every new stupidity is just fuel for the fire.
ReplyDeleteAs for this? I get the picture of a family, with twin boys. The parents are planning the most extravagant birthday bash for one twin, but the other has been given underwear and a toothbrush and has been sent to his room for his brother's party.
To say I'm mad at Capcom would be a falsehood. I've gone beyond mad and am just flat out disappointed in them. They know we're here; they've heard us for over a year now. And yet, they continue to troll us, the fans that have supported them since the early days, who've seen them through thick and thin, who so desperately want to support them. But they say no.
ReplyDeleteThis is kind of like watching your best friend of many years suddenly turn into a different person through something or another. You try and help them, but they keep pushing you away until finally, you realize that you just can't help them; they need to first learn how to help themselves. That, or die either trying or not trying at all.
I am not saying to give up hope; there is always that small chance that they can change. But, as it stands, it is time for us to show that, while we want to live with Capcom, we can live without them. They've done absolutely nothing to repair the trust that was so utterly shattered, and have, in fact, damaged it even further. What I am saying, is that since they have hit us where it hurts most, our hearts, it is time to hit them back where they hurt most. No, not their hearts; it is clear that those poor things have already well dead, shriveled and blackened. Hit them where it hurts most: their wallet. Don't buy Capcom. Period. Games, merch, you name it, you don't buy it. If for some reason you feel you must absolutely OWN something Capcom, try and make sure the thing is used. In that way, no money goes to them.
Does this further endanger the prospects of not seeing Mega Man or other beloved franchises return to the prominence they deserve? Unfortunately, yes. But, at this point, it's clear that something drastic needs to be done to change their minds because what we're doing right now, sadly, is just not working. We either help them wake up and smell the roses, or help them fade into obscurity and infamy. The choice, is theirs.
That's great in theory. But the truth is you could get maybe a few hundred people to not buy re6. Even if you told most gamers about capcom's past and what they have done, the truth is they wouldnt give a fuck, because it doesn't effect them. They just wanna play re6 and fuck everything else. To make my point, I will use the activision fiasco; look at what happened to those guys who slaved away at the call of duty series. They got shitcanned for no reason and then people where pissed. There were threats to boycott, then the next call of duty came and look at what happened, it sold millions. In order for boycotts to work, everyone needs to be on board. And good luck in getting people to care about anything but themselves in todays world.
DeleteSo, guys, do you remember how awesome the 25th Anniversary of Mario and Metroid were? No?
ReplyDeleteThen why are all of you complaning about Mega Man getting the same treatment?
If anything, at least Capcom awknoledges the franchise and, y'know, doesn't let it rot for 25 years until someone picks it up.
Mario got acknowledged. Though it was just Mario all stars, it did include collectible soundtrack & history booklet
Delete@Rockman
ReplyDeleteThat's hilarious, yet accurate. I'm trying to hold my sides together.
Lol, don't really have anything to say that hasn't already been shared. As a fan I feel defeated, betrayed, and forgotten. Most of all, disregarded.
ReplyDeleteI thought that "top men" were discussing something for quite a while now? Is it that hard to come up with a game or two or something equally as special for the 25th? What company pulls this garbage? Only Capcom, it seems. In a perfect world, the games should be Legends 3, X9, ZX3 etc, etc, but that is indeed like asking for the moon. Even so, its what fans desire. What they go so far as to plead for. That has to amount to something...
Unlike some, I still have hope that things are just taking longer than they should. That hopefully they're really working at something behind those curtains. I'm going out on a limb again, but don't let us down, Capcom!
@Sep. 16 3:43 AM Anon: The difference is that Metroid and Mario didn't have 2 games cancelled in a row, they weren't excluded from a crossover that should have them by default (Think of a smash bros without them), nor they were disgraced with a cameo in the form of a fat bastard pretending to be them.
ReplyDeleteThis is why Megaman deserves a good anniversary.
*sigh* Look, at this point, it's not just a matter of giving him another game. It's a matter of showing us that you care about him. So far, all we have to show is soundtracks. While that might pass for other game series (like Zelda), for a series as starved as Mega Man, that just won't cut it.
ReplyDeleteWake Up, the only way for this stupid company to learn is if we gamers boycott their games. As much as I want to buy RE6, Capcom doesn’t deserve jack, because they don’t care about gamers or about their own developers. Ono was nearly worked to death, and there is also that story about the girl who nearly committed suicide because of the company.
ReplyDeleteThey need to suffer for what they’ve done. We can hope that they will be good on their word, but to them mega man is worm food, and ryu is capcom. BOYCOTT CAPCOM. Maybe it’ll help them hire a spell checker to.
I can see why Sven would say that though. I mean, it's September right now. Can you honestly make a great new game in time for the anniversary in just three months? That's far too little of time.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Capcom COULD have started much earlier, but I guess they were so focused on Legends 3 and Universe at one point that it didn't hit them to make a good anniversary game then, and when those two titles were cancelled, it was too late to get started on one in time. I do like to hope that Capcom does have something big in store, and if the do, they simply don't have the time to release it by December.
...That is, provided if CoJ even has any desire to treat the franchise good of course.
Oh, and also,
ReplyDelete@cacpcom: Did you even read turianx9's comment? Boycotting will not work because the majority of the general public of gamers will still buy RE6.
Honestly, when the hell as boycotting EVER worked with anything? You can boycott all you want, no one stops you then, but it will actually make zero difference in the long run.
If RE6 does happen to sell extremely poorly though, then it'll be because the game had its own fault in some way, not because of people banding together to boycott.
In all honesty, there's only two situations possible to hope that Megaman can possibly have a future.
ReplyDeleteThe Anniversary either has to:
A: Be so good that all becomes forgiven and Capcom gets all our faith back.
OR
B: It has to be so bad, that no matter what kind of fan you are, the hate and disappointment will be so grand, so impossibly enormous, that the shitstorm that erupts from it will make the initial week of Legends 3 cancellation look like nothing. It'd have to be so large, that it'd reach every single gaming blog, vlog, podcast ever, all knowing what happened.
Every stream, bombarded with hate. Every major spot in Unity, attacked and flamed. Every one of their official Facebook pages, flooded with anger. All their upcoming convention appearances, ruined from protest.
And if it had to come to it, even a large strike and protest in front of their buildings, around the world.
Sounds like two major extremes, but the sad truth is, those two are the only outcomes that can occur if we are to hope for an actual TRUE change to happen.
:(
ReplyDeleteDidn't knew Capcom threw a party in Mega's 20th b-day. Where can I find photos or a video of it?
ReplyDelete^
ReplyDeleteThere was a big event in Japan for that. I held onto a lot of pics... might put them up one day.
I was there. It was fucking awesome. I have been looking for my photos from it and I can't find them. But it was really amazing, there where games, production art and tons of figures on display. I even got to meet Keiji and I saw my contact at capcom jp who speaks really good english there. She translated everything for me and was generally awesome to me. The 20th was such a good year for me. Its too bad I no longer live in japan and no longer have her info. I really should have gotten an email so I could ask her what is going on.
ReplyDeleteWell........while it is clearly too late to start making a new Megaman game, they could do a little work on the Megaman Legends 3 Prototype and release that, I won't count on it, it would be great-too good to happen actually, but if they do that Capcom will see that they are wrong about the franchise and see just how dedicated and loyal their fans are, personally the idea that there is no interest in the Megaman franchise seems like a pitiful excuse now, after seeing all the activity on the internet about Megaman from the fans, personally I think the reason Capcom killed off Megaman might be to get back at Kiji Inafune, that could be it, let's hope they change their mind, not likely, but making money is the only purpose of a corporation, what do they gain financially by earning the hate of their fans like this??? At the very least releasing the Prototype of Megaman Legends 3 could not hurt them, then they will see whether there is interest in Megaman or not. Personally I would give up hope, this world is not fair and just, and corporations are hardly kind and responsible entities, they only care about making money, and guess what?? As long as they make enough money from their other franchises, why should they care about Megaman??? Sorry for this but... Stop supporting Crapcom if you seriously want to see another Megaman game released!!! Even though I know there is little chance of Capcom releasing Megaman Legends 3 Prototype, I still want that game, and badly. That won't change just because it is not going to be released. I saw too much, I can't un-see it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm not getting my hopes up. I'd have to believe that the CapCON-artists were actually planning to make another Mega Man game EVER first.
ReplyDelete@Dr Jerk
ReplyDeleteWhen has boycotting ever worked? Boy...did you ever just fail history class. Would you like a list? Here you go.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=successful+boycotts
Yeah, I'm keeping my expectations in check and didn't even expect a game...
ReplyDeletebut there goes all hope of being pleasantly surprised, heh
How disappointing this is...
ReplyDeleteSonic and Kirby had their anniversary game, but nothing for Mega Man!?
Capcom is so screwed...they should fall into hell.
Yeah guys. Everybody has brought up good points.
ReplyDelete1) A boycott seems like the most logical answer. However, as others have stated, RE6 (and Monster Hunter, and whatever Street Fighter game they have coming down the pike) are also coming, and those games WILL SELL.
2) Sadly Mega Man (an all of his incarnations) are sadly becoming an icon of nostalgia more than anything else. This is apparent with all of the merch coming our way. While Nintendo will always re-invent an IP when needed and make a new installment when the cries are heard, Capcom has proven to us time and time again that Ryu and Chun Li are much more important to their income levels than Mega Man is. I think the problem is we have too many versions of him, honestly. If we stayed with the original trio of Classic, X, and Legends we may have been alright right now.. I think when we started getting into EXE/Zero/StarForce/ZX (as much as EXE dragged a ton of new fans in) is when things started breaking for the series. It seemed like every year there was a new Mega Man. Now we have Xover and I'm wondering if this isn't some last-ditch effort to generate income and 'give the fans a game for the 25th', despite the fact that most of us do not own an Apple product capable of playing this... and we all know this game is going to suck. I think we can all tell the level of half-assery from the few screen shots we saw already.
3) As I've stated before and time and time again... There are fan projects that people are making that honestly have me more excited for the series than anything Capcom's released in recent memory. If you want to save Mega Man, make a fan project or get involved in one. There are a kazillion out there.
4) I just don't see huge amounts of complaining to Capcom working because nobody is going to get on board to make their life a living hell constantly. People have tried with some of the BS they've tried in recent months (Angry Joe and AlphaOmegaSin on YouTube, for example) ... it doesn't work. Capcom is deaf to westerners and westerner complaints. They do NOT CARE if a bunch of gaijin are upset at them, they care if a bunch of their fellow country men and women are but not so much the other fans around the globe. They are a JAPANESE COMPANY and only care about the local interests in their IPs. They do not care that Mega Man is still hugely popular overseas to the point where it warrents a game... in Japan he's a symbol of nostalgia and they're only concerned with that.
I could go on but I won't.... but yeah. At this point I have no faith in seeing a console-based, disc-based game out of them that would be worthy of my $60... I could see another "Collection" title but otherwise, I gave up a while ago. Like, around the time X was reduced to a costume for Zero and Mega Man was turned into a fat 50-something that I figured I'd see washed up in a bar before a fighting game.
Ugh.... the very least they could do is re-make or re-release the MM Anniversary Collection and the Megaman X Anthology for the PS3 and 360....
ReplyDeleteDon't count on new Mega man games? Well...

I like how you guys demonize Street Fighter when years ago the franchise was considered a waste of time by the company. It was in the exact same situation as Mega Man right now until it got a huge revival. The fanbase is willing to go out of there way and attack other games and their events just to get their message across like the SFxT unity streams. It's absolutely disgusting and it's more wonder we don't have more support on our side.
ReplyDeleteAnd honestly, I'm glad the series is dead right now. Mega Man in his current state is over and irrelevant. After years of getting bad to mediocre games destined for handheld and digital only releases, I rather see his name be laid to rest for a bit. We have over 100 entries in the series. I'm sure you can remain calm for the next one in a few years.
I want Mega Man back, but I want him to come back big and in a way that everyone cares, not just Legends and other Mega Man fans.
It's not like they could have started working on a game earlier for the 25th.
ReplyDeleteWhat I just read was:
ReplyDelete"Oh, there's an anniversary this year? Oh... That's cool... Yay."
September 17, 2012 12:51 Anon: You know what else is disgusting? Arrogantly declaring how glad you are that the series is apparently dead (even if you DO want it to come back) in a thread full of people worried about its survival.
ReplyDeleteGiven that its Prototype Version would've been the only worthwhile thing in the eShop for months, Legends 3 could've easily appealed to people outside the fanbase if Capcom hadn't dropped the whole thing.
There was also MMU (level-building and sharing) and Rockman Online (MMORPG), but guess what? Those got cancelled too.
Just how little emotional investment do you have in MM if you brush off three cancelled games in a row (which is an incredibly bad thing even if it's not unprecedented) and tell everyone to be patient? How self-centered and dickish do you have to be to pretend that it's not alarming?
As for Street Fighter--I don't approve of outright (verbally) attacking things like the SFxT stream, but most of the resentment I saw was aimed at the blatant favouritism in its 25th anniversary, NOT the series itself.
I suggest that in the future, you take a second to consider how others feel about the subject before you say shit like that.
@Anon that said "It's not like they could have started working on a game earlier for the 25th."
ReplyDeleteUniverse? Legends 3? Online? Guess not. *shrug*
@RADIX:
"Given that its Prototype Version would've been the only worthwhile thing in the eShop for months, Legends 3 could've easily appealed to people outside the fanbase if Capcom hadn't dropped the whole thing."
What is done is done. Capcom screwed BIG, but we should focus on the present and future. Reset... er, restarting the Mega Man Legends 3 Project, either with what was done or from scratch!
"Rockman Online (MMORPG)"
MORPG. It is not massive.
"you brush off three cancelled games in a row and tell everyone to be patient?"
Agree. 1 year already... Plus 10 for a Legends 2 sequel. Patience? Seems we fans have a lot.
"As for Street Fighter--I don't approve of outright (verbally) attacking things like the SFxT stream, but most of the resentment I saw was aimed at the blatant favouritism in its 25th anniversary, NOT the series itself."
Also agree, attacking other series will make things worse. Can't really say if there is a favoritism as Street Fighter's 25th is earlier than Mega Man's. Mega may (hopefully, but considering all things...) get more attention soon. I wonder if there will be a "Mega Board" (NES > WiiWare and real) a la the Street Fighter Monopoly.
@September 17, 2012 5:35 Anon: I know I sound like a broken record, but we still don't know why MML3 was cancelled. I'm not saying that we shouldn't look to the (incredibly dim) future, but it's much harder without closure for MML3.
ReplyDeleteDunno about the "it's not massive" bit. :/ Was RMO explicitly labelled a "MORPG" and I just forgot?
People need to stop comparing Megaman to any other series, because NO OTHER SERIES has gone through the shit we have this past year.
ReplyDelete@ radix, legends 3, universe and online weren't the only cancelled megaman games, remember megaman mania/ anniversary collection for gba? capcom cancelled that too, not to mention all of the extras that were supposed to be in the megaman x collection that capcom removed at the last minute.
ReplyDeletecapcom has been slowly destroying the megaman series since 05 or 06, it seems strange to me that they have all this extra money to put towards all of these new ip's they keep releasing but they supposedly have no money to make a actual quality retail megaman game? something is wrong with that picture.
@September 17, 2012 7:36 Anon: Didn't Megaman Mania's cancellation have more to do with Atomic Planet than Capcom?
ReplyDeleteAnd I dunno if this decline began all the way back in '05 or so, but yeah--definitely something wrong with that picture. Especially considering that another 8-bit numbered title--while not exactly the right direction to go in at this point--probably wouldn't cost much to make if there's a pre-existing engine for it.
@ radix, I don't remember. I thought capcom was developing megaman mania, I just remember that the cancelation of megaman mania seemed like the beginning of the downward spiral since a few years later we would have two more megaman games cancelled. then there was the whole megaman x collection fiasco where capcom was communicating with the members of megaman network back around 04-05 and promised many extras in the collection that were removed at the last moment.
ReplyDeletewhile what happened with mmx collection was not really a game cancelation it just seemed like the beginning of capcom mistreating the megaman fanbase which would later continue in 2010 and 2011 with universe and legends 3. I just hope that eventually we get a high quality megaman or mmx game that does the series justice and isn't just a simple quick cash in with minimal effort.
even if capcom doesn't make another megaman game at least there is still the fans to keep the series alive with all of the fan game projects out there, as long as there's decimated megaman fans the series will never really die even if the fanbase has to make fan made mm games themselves.
I meant to say dedicated fans, not decimated.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Rockman X3 for 3DO? :P
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, Capcom didn't care for the series since the very first game, but A.K., Inafune and the other staff members insisted to make a sequel, and worked for hours to finish it before the deadline given while also working in other game(s). Now that Inafune left, Capcom is doing whatever they want with Mega Man. I wonder if Mr. Famous and the other staff members didn't try to push MML3 further, or they couldn't because of Capcom's Top Men or other reason. Mr. Famous was quite tired in one of Kinako's reports, and I think he said it didn't go as he planned.
Capcom =

ReplyDelete@ recoil, that's exactly my mindset about capcom preparing anything worthwhile for megamans 25th anniversary. I'm not expecting anything so I'm not going to be dissappointed because it's pretty obvious we are not really getting anything.
ReplyDelete
