Tron Bonne and Servbot Confirmed for Project X Zone (Updated)

According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Tron Bonne and a Servbot will join the roster for Project X Zone. Alongside Mega Man X and Zero, that brings the total Mega Man characters up to four! The characters will be voiced by their veteran actresses, Mayumi Izuka and Chisa Yokoyama, respectively.

We have no images of the two currently, but stuff should surface within the next day or two. UPDATE: Oh look, an image.

  1. Always my least favorite characters from the universe being picked. -_-

  2. Every time a console hacking site updates, the region lock on my 3DS cringes.

It won't be long, my precious...

  3. In before- Okay, I'm sure you know what I'm going to say. =P

All I can say is, indeed, Project X Zone is a spiritual-sequel to Namco x Capcom.

  4. Wait, how long before the region lock is hacked? Does anyone have a site or something?

  5. I'm with Hypsershell. Highly doubt this is coming over here, in which case, the companies inadvertently promote hacking/modding/etc. Great work!

Or it could just get ported. People enjoyed the shit out of Tatsunoko VS Capcom. Lots of fans know who all the characters are. So what gives?

  6. Inadvertently promote hacking, eh?

Putting a padlock on my treasure chest is just asking for theft!

Suppose you're selling that treasure box. If, the free market being what it is, your box is sold to someone you know doesn't have a key, then what do you THINK they're going to do with it?

Wouldn't you rather take the lock off yourself and not teach your so-far-otherwise-honest buyer how to pick it in the first place?

  8. So no f*cks are being given to canon... Excellent... *begins praying for Classic and Zero series charies to pop up*

Also, Tron and Volnutt are two peas in a pod, especially in Namco x Capcom.... I wonder if Volnutt and Juno will pop up... Juno was a big villain in NxC.

Well, to be honest, the ONLY thing region locking does is promote piracy. There's quite literally no reason to do it anymore, since it just gives people a reason to justify piracy.

There's plenty of people who wouldn't mind importing this game, but those same people probably aren't interested in buying a whole separate 3DS along with it just to play. As much as I hate pirates, for stuff like this, I just have the attitude "it's yer own damn fault for being an idiot and using region locks".

To be honest, unless I know this is coming here... I'm just plain losing interest for this title, since I wouldn't even hack my 3DS to play it. I mean, hear we are with an actual GAME to get excited about, but... I just can't, because all signs point to Japan Exclusive.

  12. I'd say the reason it's not going to be localized, MegaMac, is the same reason Namco X Capcom wasn't. It's not as popular as the other Capcom Vs. Whatevers in the west because no one knew who those characters were, unfortunately, or they were too obscure. There's not enough emphasis on Street Fighter for them to make the jump. Other than Capcom and Tekken characters, the average westerner wouldn't really know many others.

I mean, look at the confirmed character list from Namco Bandai and Sega. Regardless of how awesome they are, no one who's not into games would recognize anyone, seeing how most of them never came across the pond.

Glad that Tron is making a return to Crossover SRPG.

Say, I wonder how Tron will react to KOS-MOS Xenosaga 3 4th form since they last fight alongside each other in NXC?

It delights me to know that my comments bother you so much.

  15. @Hypershell: If I've sold it to them, they can do whatever they want with it. I'm not encouraging them to steal it from me because I put a lock on it though.

There are plenty of reasons for region locking. Different currencies, paying for localization and taxes, ratings and classifications, distribution and timing, and so on. It's a pretty complicated thing to manufacture and sell something worldwide. Granted, digital distribution handles some of these things, but this is a 3DS game.

    What?

There's no reason to do it since it gives people a reason to justify piracy?

So if something makes people want to pirate, all other potential reasons just go away?

THERE'S NO REASON FOR THE INTERNET.

  17. This conversation smells of "I don't get what I want so the reasoning behind it must be stupid or wrong" Internet logic.

  18. Seriously, why lock a game so that only people from one country can play it?

It's stupid. It drives away potential customers, and it makes those potential customers sometimes turn to piracy.

@ no internet anon: ...Wow, way to take words out of context. That's not even close to what I said either. Question, are you actually pro-pirate, or anti-pirate? Me? I'm anti-. You can't snuff it out entirely, it'll always exist... but you can fight it by beating them at their own game.

The internet is good, so take advantage of it. It provides better means of distribution than we've ever had, and the reason piracy is rampant isn't because "Free stuff", it's becuase they take advantage of it when the big publishers and companies don't - they get left behind. The best way to fight piracy, ironically, is to adopt their distribution methods. Basically, to beat them at their own game.

That's why Steam was such a big hit - it does just that. Next time, try thinking before you try to sensationalize someone's claim with flawed rationale.
