We can now say with absolute certainty the 3DO version did exist at one time. According to our previous findings, it would have launched on the same day as the Sega Saturn/PlayStation version. Less-than-stellar sales of the 3DO, itself, presumably led to the game's cancellation.
But who knows? Perhaps one day it will leak out onto the net. Even if it appears to have been a straight port from the PlayStation/Saturn version, I think it's worthy of preservation!
Thanks again, KeijiDragon!
Good job! Now, I have other commercial in my library. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Protodude. I am in the process of ripping the entire "CSG TV-Game Collection '96" VHS cassette that features lots of old Japanese Super Famicom, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn, NeoGeo CD, and PC-FX games from from many Japanese developers of the say including Capcom, Sega, Konami, NEC, MediaWorks, Game Arts, Takara, Tomy, and much, much more.
ReplyDeleteAlong side the Rockman X3 video, I've put up a trailer video of Resident Evil (PS) from the same videotape: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSymGU9WIsA.
If you are interested in the developer list, and have some understanding of Japanese katakana, you can read them at 0:49 on the front label of the tape. If you are looking for what games that what developer has, I can report them here too. I happen to have photo of the front label of the tape in question, in fact. https://twitter.com/OKeijiDragon/status/226883861529886723
Lol, the song in the Biohazard/Resident Evil video made it not scary at all really.....lol.
ReplyDeleteThe way they highlight the anime cutscenes and having Zero in it reminds me of how excited I was when I first saw it on a magazine, at that age when videogames were a magical thing. Good memories!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see better/actual confirmation of the 3DO version. I too hope it'll someday leak to the net for preservation. Awesome stuff.
