Get Me Off the Moon Reaches 100,000 Members


No less than nine months since its inception, the tenacious Get Me Off the Moon Mega Man Legends 3 campaign has arrived at their goal of 100,000 members. Convention appearances, contests, fan-art... it's all led up to this.

It remains to be seen if this is the catalyst needed to breath new life into the Legends 3 project; nevertheless, this is a crowning moment for everyone involved. Great job, everyone!

Onward an upwards.

  1. As has been said, whether or not this changes anything remains to be seen. But regardless, it's been awesome to see the support. Legends Never Die!

  2. I think what excited me most about Legends 3 - and probably many other Mega Man fans - is the fact that Legends 3 would've been a game that fans could play without knowing what to expect. Any other series (including BN/SF), the main installments pretty much fall into the same formula with little surprise. One thing I've often become annoyed about is that before I buy a Mega Man game, unless it was the first of a new series, I already knew pretty much 50~80% of what the game was going to be like just based off of trailers. But Legends, being an adventure game, has an element of exploring the unknown. It may not be the most action-oriented, but its sense of discovery has always been an addicting factor for me.

    With that said, I sincerely hope Capcom reconsiders their decision. Legends 3 alone would convince me to invest in a 3DS.

    I congratulate 100k Strong for reaching their goal.

  5. And here's Capcom's soon to be response:
    "We appreciate the tremendous and ongoing support for the "Rockman Dash" series, however we have nothing to be announced at the moment or for the foreseeable future."

    Basically Capcom still doesn't care :(

  8. Yeah um hate to rain on your parade but....

    Get Me off the Moon aimed too low for it's petition.

    Yoshinori Ono said, in order to get Capcom even REMOTELY interested in a new Darkstalkers game, a petition would need FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND SIGNATURES. What makes you think 1/5 of that will even make Capcom consider Legends 3? Especially since there's a fairly decent number who don't actually have a 3DS who signed the petition, meaning you can't say that group is guaranteed sales numbers to Capcom.

    Furthermore, Starforce 3 and ZXA each sold only 100 000. Why would Capcom, who have to make all NEW assets from scratch for this game, settle for THE SAME AMOUNT ESPECIALLY WHEN THE ZERO COLLECTION SOLD OVER DOUBLE THAT. Better sales = Better games and production value. That's a fact. Now start going for a higher goal that will actually have a chance of doing what it intends to do.

    And is Legends niche? I would hardly consider it so since it's the most used Megaman series for Capcom's crossovers and the most referenced in general. Perhaps Capcom wants to bump Legends up from being niche, you ever consider that? The company doesn't get money from trees it gets it from SALES.

    It may be fine to YOU for low sales to happen, but for Capcom, WHO IS PAYING TO MAKE IT, low sales are something it will not accept.

  16. Legends is niche. Just because development teams tossed Legends references in their games doesn't mean it's not.

    They reached their goal, but honestly the low number and how long it took for them to reach it doesn't make it impressive at all.

    This thing really should have gotten started as soon as the game was announced shelved. The outrage during those first 3 days alone would have put them to their goal much faster.

    Sure, it isn't niche, but it's unprofitable outside of those cameos.

    PS: Does citing the time really work? I think it shows to each person according to their time-zone. So we all probably have a different time shown.

  19. Impressive. 100,000 may not seem like much in comparison to some things, but you must remember that this is the number of Facebook likes for one particular fan page. I think you'd be surprised to see how many people want the game but haven't liked the page. It's been talked about on many sites and in many magazines, after all.

    I still haven't liked the page, because I'm very sparing with what I do on Facebook. I would snatch the game up right away, though. In fact, it's part of the reason I got a 3DS.

    I think a misinterpretation of online participator numbers is what led to this mess. Capcom sees the 5000 or so (?) devroom contributors as a small amount. I see that as a huge number. How many people will actually sign up and turn something in? I didn't. How many others were content to watch, like me?

    Anyhow, I don't think 100,000 likes will be enough to turn any heads, but I still think that this is still a milestone nonetheless. I mean, not every Facebook profile gets that many likes.

  26. I hope this at least makes Capcom aware that a sufficient demand for Legends 3 does exist. They seem so stubborn in not continuing with the project, not even releasing the beta WHICH BY THE WAY WAS FINISHED. What do they want from us? Do we have to cure cancer? Prove the existence of aliens? End every war on the planet? Why do you hate your own product so much, Capcom?

    100 000 is not that great of a number if you want them to make the game.

    Remember, the sales of the games pretty much determines their budget. Did you ever think maybe, just maybe, Capcom wants Legends 3 to be successful? So then it can contnue Megaman on the handhelds AND the home consoles with graphics that we like and do the series justice, other than going back to NES sprites? A successful Legends game, which sells MORE than the previous titles, means we, the whole fanbase, win.

  30. I am glad we reached 100,000 but we need more member. 500,000 is the number we need or 1,000,000 members if we get a million members I think Capcom would change their mind for sure after all what compy really want to make a million fans mad
