Toast, Mega Man! For Everlasting Peace!

Toasters aren't usually very exciting to look at, but all it takes is one creative person to turn a run-of-the-mill kitchen appliance into an awesome work of art. John MacInnis, a student of Industrial Design at the Wentworth Institute of Technology, is just that person. Lo and behold, the Mega Man toaster:

"For this project we needed to pick a cartoon/video game character and create a toaster specifically for them," writes MacInnis. "I chose my all time favorite character, Mega Man."

Mind you, this isn't a real working toaster -- it's a conceptual design made from "half renshape, half love." But who are we kidding? Working or not, this is a pretty cool concept! It has "do want" written all over it.

Fund it, Capcom.

  8. Anyone know how this thing works? The slots there look too small for bread or toast to fit in to heat up. Why does it open up toward the middle? Do you put dough in there or something? I also don't see where the power cord is, unless it's one of those battery powered toasters or something.
Anyway, it's a neat design. Kind of looks like the mega buster. He did a nice job on it. :)

  9. My guess is that you'd open the buster, put in the slices of bread, and shut it and press one of the red buttons to start toasting. Maybe when it's finished, the bread comes shooting out from the barrel end...? Even though the slots look too small, it's only a conceptual design. And I'd just assume that it's not plugged in at the moment, but the plug goes on the back end somewhere. But oh man, I'd love to shoot toast from that thing.

  11. Hi guys, this is John (MacInnis) Thank you so much for the kind words and the write up! If only I got to do more Mega Man themed projects. The way that it works is you put a small loaf of "bread ammo" in the top part and it loads it in like a shotgun. Then Mega Man would shoot it out at the bad guys.

  12. There is no plug it's a Mega Man toaster. You wear it as a gun on your arm. I was in his class and I watched him make it. The bread loads into the middle, heats up, and shoots out of the barrel. It actually fits on your arm too.

  15. Well, now that I know how it works, I can officially say this is one of the cooler, albeit somewhat impractical things I've ever seen based on this game series. I kind of wanna see a video of this thing in action! XD

  16. I agree with what Joseph Collins said. I also want to see this thing working in action if possible. :)
