"Another Sun" Singer Publicly Supports Legends 3 Revival

Morishita Reika, who sung the theme song for the original Rockman DASH, has come out and publicly pledged her support for the tenacious efforts to reinstate Mega Man Legends 3. Word comes from her official blog, translated by Team Legends:

"As everyone might know, "Another Sun", which is my 7th single, was also the theme song for "Rockman DASH." I heard that this song and "Anata no kaze ga fuku kara" ("Your wind is blowing"), which was the subtrack for that single, have been supported by a lot of DASH fans. They even went so far as to refer to it as a godly song! So I thought, "Wow, were those songs really that powerful?" I've just recently become aware of it.

Another thing I recently noticed was that "Rockman DASH3" was axed just before its release! Oh my, that is so sad! Capcom, I wanted to work with you together again~
I wish for them to release DASH3 so that I can tie-up my business composing a reprise for "Another Sun" and "Your Wind Is Blowing."

Naturally, Reika's opinion is already being met with open arms by the Get Me Off the Moon masses.

And for the record, Reika is not the super secret supporter I've been teasing on my Twitter. That news is still forthcoming. When? I can't say. Nonetheless, it's something to look forward to. Keep your expectations in check and I think you'll end up pleasantly surprised.

  1. She wants to reprise "Another Sun"? Does anyone have a zillion dollars I could use to pay her for my project?

  2. Shoot, that blog post is over a month old! But better finding out late than never. Wonder how many other famous supporters the movement has that we haven't found out about yet?

  3. still capcom will not listen to all of us.. even though we still fight for the return of MML3

  4. I'll bet the secret supporter is actually a person well-known by the general public, like Robin Williams or James Woods or something (both of those guys are admitted fans of video games).

  5. Her songs have cheered me up several times in the past, in fact, when I heared DASH 3 to be cancelled, "Your wind is blowing" made me feel better! :)
    She's awesome!

  6. When is the big revelation (God the term is too mainstream nowadays)
who is this top-man you are talking about

BTW Thanks a lot Lady in pretty boots.United we stand indeed

  7. I would honestly laugh my ass off, tear up a bit, and then punch an innocent animal off a cliff (not literally ofc) if the secret supporter was the head of Capcom, whatever his/her name would be.

I am really hyped to hear who it is protodude: all I want to ask is will we get the news before the end of this year?

  8. @mike nope it not one of them .they said that the person was Japanese .It is best to stay cautiously optimistic. the biggest American backer we have right now is Del the funky homosapien. he did like 100k.

  9. @Kips:

Not too sure about that... we'll have to see.

  10. Super secret supporter? Who cares it's not gonna make Capcom change their minds anyway. I bet it's just Sven or Seth anyway

    ReplyDelete
  11. @Anon:

    Not Sven or Seth.

His direct involvement in the campaign will turn some heads at Capcom. Can't say they'll change their minds, but his support will elicit an interesting response internally.

  12. Well sounds good then. I'll hold you to that

    XD!

  14. All this secret supporter teasing is building up to a giant anti-climax, I think.

And that is precisely why you have to keep your expectations in check.

Most will like the unveiling -- others not so much.

  16. Still won't reveal who the secret supporter is, Protodude? =P Didn't you say that you would reveal them "shortly" when you first teased about it?

Anyway, nice to see that she supports the effort and still likes DASH. I really liked her "The Wind is Blowing" song.

Who sang the songs in DASH 2 and Tron ni Kobun? I wonder if they're on this too.

    hahaha wtf? shoe fetish much?

  19. Speaking realistically Protodude, is it something you are waiting on them for, or the other way around before the reveal? Is some type of content being created that isn't ready yet? Or is it a timing thing? And what kind of time table are we looking at for the reveal, (1-2 months? 6?)

    Just wondering :)

  20. @Anon Yeah darling. They look so fabulous, don't you think

  21. Obama is the super secret top-man. Calling it now.

If the prez can't do it, we're boned.

  22. @Dr. Jerk:

I'm can't recall who sang for DASH 2 at the moment, but the person who sang the songs for Tron ni Kobun was Mayumi Iizuka. Who by the way, was the actress who played Tron.

And yes, I suppose she probably would support reviving DASH/Legends 3 if anyone asked. (But that's just my guess.)

  23. @Dr. Jerk(again):

The singer for DASH 2 was Hara Fumina. (Just checked for that in a comment on GetMeOffTheMoon)

  24. I think you've teased this secret supporter for too long. Why's it so secret? What's the big deal? The teasing gets pretty bothersome. Call me impatient but if I don't know who it is soon, I think I'm going to lose interest.

The long wait has to do with what the supporter is bringing to the table. "Materials" are not ready just yet.

    ReplyDelete
  26. WTH!! We are waiting for materials now?How does that work?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh Protodude you're such a tease. Just tell us now. XD It's the UN isn't it? If the UN can't bring back DASH3, nothing will. XD

    ReplyDelete
  28. Materials you say Protodude?

Hmm, I guess what you say by "Might turn some heads over at Capcom" makes sense now.

I'm still doubtful, but I'm more curious than anything, like the most of us I'm sure.

  29. i know i'll catch flames for this, but if you haven't noticed, everyone that's supporting legends 3 so far, besides the fans themselves, are people that stand to make money if it does return? keiji inafune may be the only one who doesn't. sven would make money, seth would, and so would this singer. her tracks were part of the OST!

i'm sorry, but if money isn't involved, then a personal desire must be there. the only people where money is not involved, is keiji, and the fans.

(note: fans refers to the people who don't work for video game companies, yet are trying to revive the game.)

hey, if i'm wrong, i'll admit it, but if you're going to try to prove me wrong, gather your evidence first. and don't even try mentioning the solatorobo devs wanting to make the game. if they did, they'd make money.

P.S.: i don't see nintendo mentioning any of this, and the game was going to be a console exclusive.

  30. It's nice to see Legends 3 is getting so much support. but it's really not going to change anything, since those who have the power to produce the game are not among the supporters.

    ReplyDelete
  31. even if everyone in the world supports the revival of Legends 3, I doubt Capcom would do it unless Legends 3 is made into a reboot to the Legends Series where Mega Man somehow gaining the ability to turn into a mutant vampire-werewolf and wields 5 giant swords and a bazooka at the same time and the game becomes a blood-soaked sex romp through New New York City. or something.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @ last anon:

i know what you're trying to say, but if everyone in the world wanted legends 3, then capcom would either deliver, or suffer some serious consequences. when the whole world dissagrees with you, you know you're in some deep @#$!.

but yes, if a game doesn't have zombies, blood, first person shooting or adult themes, there's a small chance it'll be a huge seller. zelda and mario seem to be the only ones imune to this. more zelda than mario however.

  33. @ December 13, 2011 1:49 PM

And one could argue that Zelda and Mario are only immune to this because they had already established a strong foothold in the gaming industry decades ago, and Nintendo is excellent at keeping them relevant.

But that's another rant for another day.

  34. @ dec. 13, 8:36 PM anon

    OBJECTION!!! (sorry)

mario did indeed make his first appearances in donkey kong and DK Jr. but zelda first released in japan in 1986 with mega man releasing just over a year later in 1987.

i do agree with you on relevance though. the last time we seen a change up in mega man gameplay was the battle networks if i'm not mistaken. ZX maybe? but still, ZX stuck to the general formula that i believe has worn the series out. and mega man 9 and 10 were a step backwards in fact, with mega man losing the slide and charge abilities, which were transfered to protoman IIRC. (not sure about the slike, but he can charge). and bass... well, sure, he's fun, but he can't charge, and he plays like axl without the hover! OBJECTION!!! IRRELEVANT!!! (capcom: over ruled.)

at any rate, the time of release has nothing to do with mega man's imunity to the modern trend. he just doesn't have it. it lies in the gameplay. like you said. he's no longer relevant, and needs to be changed. what was good yesterday, needs to be updated today. mario and zelda have done that. to play ostrich and stick your head in the sand every time someone mentions change will only kill off a series. how many kids today turn a blind eye to the NES? so why would you make an NES game for a Wii, when you know you'll make more money if you make a modern game?

and also, i actually take offense to the gaming industry. they apparently think that common society is only interested in sex, murder, and morbid undead beings. i sure wouldn't want to have a lawyer or judge or doctor feeling that this is today's average person, which happens to be tommorows doctors, judges and lawyers. HEY! no wonder crime is so high! i just figured it out!

  35. I've been playing my Mega Man Legends Games since High school. I can't believe Capcom would screw the series that practically made them like that. Did they even advertise about the DEV Room? or was it one of those hard to find 'Clerks the animated Series' situations?
