Hopped on over to GameStop today, and sure enough, Dual Pack was in stock. As anticipated, it's nothing fancy -- just a simple bundling of Powered Up and Maverick Hunter X for $14.99. Here's what it looks like, for those curious:
Content-wise, it pales in comparison to the Japanese Value Pack; no bonus soundtrack here. Nevertheless, Dual Pack succeeds in being an ideal purchase for PSP owners on a budget, or if you haven't had the chance to play these two amazing games. Unless you're a hardcore compeltionist, the bundle is not recommended if you already happen to own both games.
Before heading out to your local retailer, it's a wise idea to call ahead and make sure the game's in stock. Dual Pack literally shipped yesterday, and may not necessarily be on shelves. If all else fails, it's ready to ship online.
As far as I'm aware, the bundle is exclusive to GameStop and EB Games. Still, it couldn't hurt to scope this one out elsewhere.
*sigh* I have these and their Japanese versions on PSP already. I would like a HD version of this on PS3 though.
ReplyDeleteI Like how they just threw both manual in the clip.
ReplyDeleteSo, they didn't decide to cancel this after it was "delayed"? I'm surprised, but this isn't worth buying if you already happen to own the two games individually. Especially since there's no new content. What would have been wrong with including the bonus track for the U.S. release?
ReplyDeleteSee me. Se me STILL not giving a f**k. You'll have to do better than that, Crapcom, because I know damn well that you can. Your cheap/laziness stopped being cute about 10 years ago...
ReplyDeleteEven if this were to somehow sell enough copies for Capcom to make sequels, they're only bound to cancel them midway through development, like they did to both Universe and Legends 3, needlessly getting peoples' hopes up over nothing.
ReplyDeleteLike I said before, I was no fan of the former, but for them to cancel two games in the game yet (and only a few months apart from one another) really delivers a powerful statement about them.
...Whoa. How do I make typos like this? I meant "in the same year".
ReplyDeleteYay, a new Megaman game. I've been waiting for one the entire year. Whee.
ReplyDelete/sarcasm
@Skybane_Zero
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way.
It's good though they are giving people another chance to buy them I guess.
sigh... if only they had released this on the PS2, XBox 360 or PS3 instead.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are such whiners. First you whine about the delay, now you whine about something else. Whine, whine, whine. Go play some of your old Megaman games.
ReplyDelete-ud
No, YOU try getting your hopes up, getting excited for a Prologue, get the news i was delayed, THEN eventually cancelled, even though it was said the Prologue was gonna decide the fate.
ReplyDeleteTHEN get yourself insulted in the arse by employees from the company itself. Let's see you handle that.
the cover is kinda frustrating...
ReplyDeletelame megaman cover...
I give up on Capcom forever, they obviously couldn't give two shits about their fans.
ReplyDeleteOh wait they did give two shits, in one package how convenient :\
A Gamestop exclusive, huh?
ReplyDeleteNothing like a deal with the devil, like when I bought my first ( used ) Playstation so I could get my hands on MegaMan 8 before the Sega Saturn version came out.
Wtf this undamned is talking about?
ReplyDelete@ZeroX_Syaoran
ReplyDeleteSorry for not blinded by fanboy rage but not everybody gets riled up when a game gets canned.
That said, for 15$ this bundle looks pretty cool.
The Japanese release came in two separate cases, right? Can anybody that owns the Japanese one confirm this for me?
ReplyDelete@Clown Price of Crime:
ReplyDeleteI can personally confirm this:

@anon @ing ZeroX
ReplyDeleteIf your parents ever die remind me to go to the funeral and complain about your whiny fanboy rage that causes you to mourn for your loss.
I seen a couple copies of this at my EB Games.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the guy who worked there, he seen a few of them not seal-wrapped, and had their games coming out of the cases, shaking about during shipping or something.
Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if half of these UMDs were just taken from unbought/used copies of the original games and just shoved into spare double-UMD boxes that's mainly used for the UMD Movies. (Speaking of which, wow, that died off fast, huh...) And then just resealed.
Much like the rest of the Collection/release Megaman games, I can see this game getting practically no sales in my city, and having a gigantic stack of unbought copies. Much like what happened with Zero Collection, X Collection and Anniversary over here.
It actually felt rather funny and sad to know that I was the single only person in my city who bought X and Anniversary Collection during their initial launches and not as used copies. XD
@rockman, Implying my reaction at my parents funeral would be "whiny fanboy rage".
ReplyDeleteNope.avi
Definitely need to pick these up. Don't have either of them, but I did give a go at MHX and it was superb. Just the right difficulty level.
ReplyDeleteNow if only we could get that Legends pack over here...
@Rockman
ReplyDeletePeople dying is not even remotely on the same level of some game you wanted to being canceled. I honestly don't even really know how to reply because the sheer arrogance of your comment has left me without any retort.
Just wow.
@Anon replying to Rockman: I agree with you, but "arrogance". I do not think this word means what you think it means.
ReplyDeletecapcom not make new game. capcom make player angry! capcom not like player when angry!
ReplyDeletesee, i don't get something. inticreates can make mega man. companies in other countries can make mega man. they can't sell it, but even the FANS can make mega man. now, why the HECK won't cappy let inafune?
oh yeah, capcom needs to make new games as well as re-release the old, blah blah blah rawr.
@ Anonymous asking what I'm talking about:

Sooooooo?
ReplyDelete@Amir
ReplyDeleteThere you go again with your Zero Collection hate. -_-!
Ya know, for a liar, you sure know to lie a lot. I bet the Zero Collection sell well and you made that up just to troll people who brought Zero Collection.
And come to think of it, when did you last chat with the Japanese MegaMan fanbase? Oh that's right, you didn't cause you fricking lied... -_- Atalaias (Damnit, can't spell her name right) was wondering about that a long time ago.
@ UD: get off your high horse so you can see the truth in front of you instead of stepping over it.
ReplyDeleteit was bad that they re-released these because they're just doing it for a cash grab. if capcom cared anything about mega man, we'd hear about more than just re-releases, and the characters being abused to draw fans to fighting games. (OMGZERO IS IN!!11!1!)
as for us being upset about the delay, despite it being a cash grab, good idea or not, at this point, any mega man game that's been even ANNOUNCED, SHOULD come out in the hopes that people will buy it, and capcom will see there is a demand for mega man again.
@ he who harvests the moon
ReplyDeleteI don't have to be on a high horse to get a clear view of the fact that Capcom announced Dual Pack, "fans" whined about delay / possible cancellation, Capcom delivered Dual Pack, and "fans" were still whining. Spoiled brats much?
Ugh guys lets just leave Undamned guy alone in his little world.
ReplyDeleteI already have it in digital form. Given my general aversion to UMDs and preference for having it directly on my PSP... I'm gonna have to pass. Maybe if UMDs didn't suck, but they do.
ReplyDeletethey should make a zero saga or something like that
