Online retailer Fukkan are kicking off a special Rockman promotion this week. Dubbed "Rockman Fair 2011", customers who purchase certain Rockman goods will be eligible to receive one of three limited edition postcards, each adorned with all-new artwork from the likes of Hitoshi Ariga, Shigeto Ikehara, and Koji Izuki.
Unfortunately, the promotion is only limited to residents in Japan. However, that won't stop us from enjoying the artwork! Cap Kobun has taken the liberty of locating high-quality shots of each postcard, pictured above. Spiffy stuff, no? I can't quite decide which I like best...
Fukkan always seems to have neat exclusives up their sleeve. I highly doubt these will be the last!

The one on the left is my favorite of the three.
ReplyDeleteThough Roll in the middle one seems like she's trying to pull a trollface. XD
"Get over"
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you could argue that that means "Get over a certain obstacle", but that's a REALLY touchy phrase right about now.
They look awesome. Koji Izuki? you mean the creator of the Rockman & Forte and Rockman 10 mangas? AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteThese are all pretty cool, but I'd have to say that Ikehara's is the most appealing to me.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked the way he draws, he's got that great Tezuka-inspired style that links Mega Man to his Astro Boy roots.
@ HyperSonicEXE:
ReplyDeleteYeah, I read the same thing and thought "Get over Rockman?? Not you too"! Needless to say, I didn't look at the whole picture, lol!
These are all great, but of course, Hitoshi Ariga wins this one. Mainly because he drew one of my favorite Robot Masters, Fire Man.
Not related, but someone knows the results of this poll?

Ooooh, I really, REALLY like Ariga's! This is the first time I've ever seen him draw Roll in her original dress (well, in his own style, I mean, and not in the few pictures where he was aping official Capcom artwork ).
ReplyDeleteAnd this proves that Ariga is my fave Mega Man manga artist. :D
ReplyDeleteBeing a slight fan of Shigeto Ikehara's works, I especially like his postcard.
ReplyDeleteDo these postcards reuse artwork, or are they entirely new?
@ProfessorMegaMan: You know, Shigeto was actually one of Tezuka's apprentices. He even drew one of the chapters of Tezuka's Marvelous Melmo.
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda nice to see where certain styles had their roots.
@Dr. Jerk: Entirely new.
ReplyDeleteAriga's is the best, as always : )
ReplyDeleteI want so much to meet this man in real life someday...
@HyperSonicEXE and EngineR2
ReplyDeleteIf you look closely, what that postcard actually says is, if read from left-to-right and up-to-down, "Get over Rockman 8". Because, as everyone knows, nobody likes Rockman 8. :B
Am I the only one who thought 8 was awesome?
