While Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version will be missing out on the Nintendo eShop launch next week, fans can look forward to another downloadable title from the Blue Bomber. The original Rockman World (aka Mega Man: Wily's Revenge), will be among the service's Virtual Console launch titles, on June 7.
Rockman World will run 3DS owners a mere 400 Nintendo Points, purchasable directly from the eShop. To access the eShop, users must opt-in to a new firmware update. The update will go live during the evening on June 7. A number of classic games and original titles will be readily available, in addition to Rockman World. Click here for a complete list of all launch software.
As of this writing, it remains to be see if Rockman World, err, Dr. Wily's Revenge, release on the North America/European eShop. Nintendo is expected to reveal specifics tomorrow morning. UPDATE: Dr. Wily's Revenge will NOT be available at launch for North America or Europe. Disappointing, yes, but it'll probably end up on our shores eventually.
Awesome. :D If they release all the Gameboy MegaMan titles I might forgive them for not releasing MegaMania.
ReplyDeleteSuuuure, awesome news!!
ReplyDeleteSince they're starting with RockMan World 1, I guess the hardcore enthusiasts will have to wait quite a while for them to reach #5, the best of the Game Boy titles (and superior to several console MM titles as well).
ReplyDeleteWhile Capcom may hate the MegaMan franchise, that's not going to stop them from indulging in their greatest love of all: Re-releasing classic games!
This is great, but I wish they'd re-release the Game Boy titles as 3D Classics instead. I'd much rather have them in color and in 3D than Mega Man 2 in 3D. :/
ReplyDeleteMan, I've got to get myself a 3DS...
ReplyDeleteits crazy how nintendo pushes mario but capcom doesn't really do anything with the original mega man and they focus heavy on street fighter and RE
ReplyDeleteput some color and I'm in
ReplyDeleteSimple, it's because MM isn't as popular as it used to be, especially here in America.
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, I'd prefer if they had chose to release Rockman World 5 instead. I've played Rockman World 1 before, and it was more or less just a watered down version of MM1 with the addition of Enker and slightly new stage designs. I wouldn't recommend it. But they are harder compared to the NES titles, so I guess it's good for a challenge, if anything.
Rockman World 5 is what the other four should have been. But I guess it's somewhat forgivable for some of the earlier titles, the Game Boy was much more limited back in the earlier days.
ESRB has Wily's Revenge listed, so I don't think it'll be too long before it shows up here.
ReplyDelete*yawn*
ReplyDeleteLameBoy DS lets you play all the games without any problems at all.
Well, Amir, this is an actual legitimate way to play the game which, oh I dunno, MAKES CAPCOM MONEY TO FUND NEW GAMES.
ReplyDeleteGod you such a dick.
The ESRB has a rating for "Dr. Wily's Revenge" on the 3DS. It'll be here soon.
ReplyDeleteThe Megaman World is between Megaman and Megaman 2 timeline right, thats why the characters in 1st and 2nd Megaman is combine......
ReplyDelete@Anon Number 4
ReplyDeleteIndeed he is.
@HeroManX:
ReplyDeleteOh lol, you've been gone from this blog for like, 5 months, and the only reason you come back is to nuthug with some random Anon, who's likely just YOU, and further prove how dumb you are.
@Anon:
ReplyDeleteIt'd be nice if Capcom actually made something new as opposed to re-releasing their old backlog of games, maybe then people would be more inclined to pay the cash for them.
As of now, it's only the very small niche of the fanbase that's going to buy these re-releases. The rest either don't find them interesting enough, have the originals already (like me), or never actually bought any of the games to begin with. (You DO know that from the GBA games onward, Megaman games have become some of the most pirated GBA/DS games ever, right?)
So don't go around throwing your shit like you know what you're talking about.
When Capcom stops rehashing old shit and actually makes a new game (like Legends 3, and stuff like that), then people will feel inclined to actually care.
The firmware update is actually going live the night before, June 6th.
ReplyDeleteLooks like it'll be a while to get to the good GB games. (4 & 5)
