CutmanMike's multiplayer Doom mod Mega Man: 8-bit Deathmatch is still a ways away from release, but to keep you entertained till then, here's a video exhibition of every usable weapon the final game will have to offer. A detailed description of how each weapon works available here.
For the uninformed, 8-bit Deathmatch is a custom Doom mod developed by CutmanMike that "aims to put Doom and Mega Man into a blender and spew out a fun new way to blast your buddies online." The game is rendered entirely in 3D, with textures based upon classic 8-bit Mega Man sprites. You can play it solo in single player or duke it out online with other players.
A demo of the game is available for download via this link. This version contains includes four maps, five playable characters and ten weapons. Enjoy and look forward to the full game soon!
This might wind up being my favorite FPS.
ReplyDeleteFreakin' awesome! Can't wait to play the full version *although admittedly, it's been ages since I last played the demo*.
ReplyDeletechargeman swings a dil...do?
ReplyDeleteThis game receives the award of awesome. I seriously approve!
ReplyDeleteGreat game! Any plans to add the Stardroids too?
ReplyDeleteThis looks pretty damn cool but that Charge Kick sprite looks really stupid.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous #2: Lol. That's just his foot. Y'know, because Charge KICK?
ReplyDeleteWhoa, whoa, WHOA! Was that Bass vs. Ballade I saw at 4:26!? You know, I remember saying back in April, how awesome it would be if the two of them squared off, and it finally happened! Even though it WAS just for a few seconds, but still!
ReplyDeleteSeems pointless to cloak Protoman, Bass and the Rockman World RMs in shadow. We already know who they are.
ReplyDelete@Anonymous I didn't know who some of them were. I'm more of a ZX fan. This still looks cool!
ReplyDeleteOh man, I saw a trailer for this a while back and thought it looked awesome; this looks even better than I remembered it. o__o
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't Capcom make something like this!?
EXCELLENT! I WANT THIS GAME, a real DOOM LIKE with ROBOTMASTERS!! :DDD
ReplyDeleteBest..... Doom..... Mod..... EVER!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI just noticed Yamato Spear is missing in the video, but it is listed in the game's arsenal.
ReplyDelete@Krazy Monkey: Bass fought against Ballade in one of the mangas:

This is one of the biggest and most ambitious MM fangame projects out there. It never ceases to amaze. Can't wait for the final build!
