There's a prototype Mega Man 5 cartridge currently up for sale over at the Nintendo Age forums. With no specific price, all you have to do is make a (realistic) offer and it's yours.
Now, because this is a Mega Man 5 proto and not a Rockman 5 proto, bear in mind there won't be any major differences in graphics or gameplay; it's likely a sample cartridge that was sent out to the media for preview/review purposes or testing purposes, too. Nevertheless, it should be a nice addition to anyone's Mega Man collection

It's kind of disappointing than it's not a Rockman 5 prototype, since it would have contained actual beta leftovers, but I guess we'll just have to take what we can get. Here's hoping that someone manages to dump a ROM of this, along with that Rockman 1 Competition Cartridge (or whatever it was called).
ReplyDeleteI wish I had money to buy an expensive copy of the final game, but I'm flat broke right now. Hopefully someone else is able to grab a copy so the retail ROM and this can be compared for any leftovers.
ReplyDeleteJudging from the PCB I would say there is no difference at all other than the case labels.
