Wow, I completely forgot about Rockman VS, the mini-manga inspired by Rockman EXE Operate Shooting Star. According this Japanese blog, the comic saw its final chapter in last month's issue of Coro Coro Special, sister magazine of Coro Coro Comics.
Rockman VS, originally marketed as a one-shot to promote the release of OSS, went on for an additional four chapters spread out throughout the remainder of 2009 and February, April 2010 respectively. The story revolved around Raito Amino and his Navi Rockman.EXE on their quest to become strong enough to defeat a childhood rival and his Navi, Shooting Star Rockman.
At this time, there are no plans to compile the manga into a single collected volume.
I hope someone has translated or will translate this series.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering what the heck happened to this manga. I guess everyone forgot it in the wake of Operate Shooting Star's release.
ReplyDeleteWell thats a dumb ending I think in the actual game SS Rockman couldnt lose to Rockman EXE who couldnt beat Clock Man but SSR could meaning.....MEGAMAN SF COULD NEVER LOSE TO MEGAMAN EXE!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI actually liked the first chapter of this when I found a scan of it.
ReplyDeleteSucks that it's so unpopular that it'll never get translated so more people can appreciate it.
Much like the old SSR manga. :/
I'm not a big fan of scanlation or theft, but the Mega Man franchise is big and it's doubtful that OSS or this comic are ever coming over. If I get my hands on a copy of it, I might translate for the internet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame! A Starforce/Battle Network crossover had so much potential and they could've milked this branch of the name like the cash cow it is, but no...
Oh well. It happens. We have other stuff to look forward to. Haha.
I'm sad they botched the whole OSS thing. Could have been awesome.
ReplyDeleteHope someone posts these for reading. I guess at the very least I could fantasize about a true revival.
@ Dark Edge: Errr... You haven't played OSS (or much less watched a YouTube video of the scenario), haven't you? >_>
ReplyDeleteWho cares anyway...??
ReplyDeletePeople who like EXE/SSR, that's who.
ReplyDeleteYou'd care if something from one of your favorite series ended, wouldn't you?
I'll be looking out for it online, but I've gotten rusty ha.
ReplyDeleteStar Force Sux, 3games and a bad anime of 10min and a 1/2 season 2.
ReplyDeleteDark Edge, are you sure? =)
