Last month, BC Direct showed off his homemade Doc Robot figure (of Mega Man 3 fame). The figure was met with mixed reviews from our colorful band of commentators with criticism largely directed towards the realistic skull face. Taking the criticism to heart, BCD went back to the drawing board and fashioned a new head that looks a lot more like the Doc Robot we know and love.
MUCH better, don't you think? You can check out more of BC Directs creations at his blog here.
Oh yeah, that's more like it...
ReplyDeleteLove it! Much better, BC!
ReplyDeleteThe other one was good, but this one's a MAJOR improvement.
ReplyDeleteI preferred the older version, myself.
ReplyDeleteA little bit wrong:
ReplyDeleteOn the Right buster is a little bit longer than the left hand.
Yeah the pic makes the arm look a little small, but it is to scale with the model, the buster is just a little large.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the atta-boys guys! Now onto another obscure Megaman figure!
I was the first person to suggest the cartoony skull on the old post, and I just have to say, I LOVE the improvements. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteA crazy accurate awesome figure. It was before, but the head does make the difference. With the use of official parts and the great paint job, it looks to fit perfectly with the other figures.
ReplyDeletejust please stop destroying super-rare rockman model kits in your customs.
ReplyDeletethis one looks good. the drawn on eyes are a bit odd, but it is very obviously Doc Robot, and does a damn good job of replicating the art. good job.
Next, watch me make Quick Boomerang Megaman using only the Shadow Armor! :P
ReplyDeletehaha jk
again, rare or not, this figure is bringing me a bigger smile than any of those kits ever did!
...ok except my Shadow Armor! :D
Very nice. Doc Robot was always one of my favourite characters that doesn't get much lovin'
ReplyDeleteMuch better! Not that there was anything wrong with the old version, but hardcore Doc Robot fans/purtists like myself prefer the cartoony version over a more serious one. Though a serious one done well looks very nice, too...
ReplyDelete@BC Direct,
ReplyDeleteNo, look at the cartoon pic.. His right and left arms are equals even buster is equal correctly.
You paid for the figure its yours to do what you want with it, I personally take every figure out of their boxes regardless of the rarity just to display them in badass posses.
ReplyDelete@ the last Anonymous- I'm talking about my pic, not the concept art pic. If you want to get into semantics, the drill is longer in mine, there's no head hoses, and the chest is different. It's called stylization. If you look at the concept art and the game sprite, it's completely different!
ReplyDelete@ JinzoNingenX- Here here! Toys are meant to breathe!
This one's pretty cool, but I prefer the first one. :D
