Above, Professional digital artist
David Espinoza (who worked on games like
Knights of the Old Republic 2 and
Neverwinter Nights 2) paid tribute to the cast of Mega Man 2 by immortalizing them in Hollywood-quality CG. They just scream animated film, right? Love the art direction, but the lighting is just the icing on the cake. Excellent work! (
Update: added Mega Man's render)
See more of David's art and designs at his official site
here. Thanks for the tip, Shayne.
Take to a 3D Scanning Figure Factory ASAP!
ReplyDelete:D
The reflection's pretty weird.. They're surrounded by black, while there are buildings in the reflection. Was weird to me, metalman's legs appear a bit short, but I suppose it's nice overall.
ReplyDeleteOh, yeah...! It should be in a CG movie instead a live action movies!
ReplyDeleteDigital Wonders did a good job on CG of Bubbleman, Heatman, Flashnman, and Metalman! They are so mega-awesome!
@Hazard Films
ReplyDeleteLol, my thoughts exactly. They do look a lot like figures. Maybe Imagi or some other CGI movie studio should take notice! These are awesome and pretty much how I would imagine them looking like in a cgi film. Eddie Lebron should take it up a step like these if he makes a MegaMan 2 based film. :D
Hmmm, they just don't feel right. Their shape and faces look very cartoony but the material too realistic for that look. It's like a clash of two different styles. They'd look better if their faces were less cartoony or if the materials didn't have all those reflections and bumps.
ReplyDelete@ MegaMac
ReplyDeletemy gf and friend work at Dreamworks Animation. Might have to have them mention something... :D
if the artist is reading these, and you are close to Chatsworth, you should take them to SOTA TOYS, I know they have a 3D scanner! Make some awesome Evil Robot mini statues!
Hmmmm....3ds max??
ReplyDeleteHoly. Crap.
ReplyDeleteScrew Astro Boy, I want a Megaman CG movie.
WOW! These are amazing!!
ReplyDelete:O WOW are they planning to make a Megaman movie animation, these are awesome....
ReplyDelete"Impressive", but not that much. I see it as reworked chars, there are tons of differences. Sounds similar to those Hyadain videos.
ReplyDeleteFlashman in the house and I'm breaking the rules!
ReplyDeleteIn all seriousness, though, that's some amazing stuff man! Brings a tear of awesome to my eye. I would really love to see Airman!
ReplyDelete...I've got more hot than a cow has moo.
ReplyDeleteOk now, I love the others. But Megaman... not so much.
ReplyDeleteSuch a very good post. Their shape and faces look very cartoony but the material too realistic for that look. thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteI hate the way MegaMan came out. His face is wonky and his hips are...huge. Like womanly. And that's not good. I understand he was trying to emphasize the robot-ish hip joints but...yeesh.
ReplyDeleteThe other Robot Masters came out extremely well though. Good lighting, good expressions. They almost look like action figures.
thanks for the information. such a very good and informative post...
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see some X renders.
ReplyDeleteall of them are awesome except rockman himself, i mean his face is like... wtf, i dont even..
ReplyDeleteI would like to say that you really made my day, it's wonderful when you just look around the web
ReplyDeleteand find something like this, reminds me of that ''How to make a dinner for a romantic...'' by Elsa Thomas,
