Nintendo has released a schedule of upcoming Mega Man 10 (WiiWare) DLC, and surprise, surprise, it confirms Bass as the third playable character, among other features. The details below:
I imagine we'll be learning more about Bass's specific abilities in the near future, but if rumors hold true, he'll have the same abilities as in MM&B: multi-angled shots, dashing and double jump.
Thanks SantanaClaus89 for the tip!
UPDATE: Reading over MM10's Operations Manual, one can find not only sprites of Bass, but Treble as well!
Also, here's some additional details over Bass Mode according to the Operation's Manual: "Bass can shoot in 7 directions. Some of his abilities differ from Mega Man's. Not compatible with Rankings or Challenges."
More info as it comes our way.
I wonder that rumor tipster was wrong on that one fairly big aspect...? Huh. Oh well. I can't wait to get home tonight and grab R10.
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! First Bass being among the characters in MM 10's "manual" (which to me confirms him as being part of the story), and now he's confirmed as the third playable character... looks like Capcom's giving everyone what they want!
ReplyDeleteGAH I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW! Argh, work will be the death of me today... x_x
lol, can't wait to get this game. I almost brought my Wii to work w/ me....
ReplyDeleteNow the majority of the fanbase can rest easy, lol. There will be happy repercussions because of this. XD
ReplyDeleteWeird... I could have sworn I posted here earlier, but I guess I'll do it again. It's about freaking TIME Bass and Treble made their way into one of the 8-bit games. This bit of news has certainly made my day. I was SERIOUSLY going to blow a fuse if they were left out again.
ReplyDeleteThat's not Bass' 1st 8-bit appearance:

THIS IS FREAKING AWESOME FINALLY BASS CONFIRMED!! i have to get this game right now.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a screen shot of bass? I don't have a wii to check
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to see Bass' 8-bit sprite. The one in RM7 FC was mediocre, so I'm hoping Capcom makes a pretty good official one.
ReplyDeleteI've updated the post with Bass and Treble's sprites. Have a look!
ReplyDeleteThis is AWESOME finally Bass playable after 10 years!!! also Is Bass going to have story? or just a sprite swap like protoman in megaman 9?
ReplyDeleteAmazing this news just made my day and protodude is there any artwork of Bass in the mm10 manual?
ReplyDeleteThat 8-bit sprite of Bass looks pretty cool.
ReplyDelete@NinjaDog:
ReplyDeleteNo artwork, just the sprite.
Sweetness! I'm uber excited that Bass is playable once again! ^___^
ReplyDeleteThough, it kind of suprises me.. All the 'rumors' from 12/10/09 are all true... Every single one... Except the 2-Player..
Or.. Is it? @_@ *Dun dun dunnn.* We know that Capcom shot down the Co-Op mode. But, could there be a possibility that there is still a 2-Player Mode? I just find it a bit odd that EVERY rumor except 2-Player is true, since that seems to be a huge one.
I'm thinking more along the lines of Mega Man 7's 2-Player VS Mode.. But. I'm just tossing out some ideas. :3
Treble looks awesome! And Bass looks much better then I thought. He looks like a true Robot Master!.. Hopefully you can fight him in the story line!
I doubt he's going to have his own storyline, playable wise, but odds are he'll make some kinda appearance during normal play!
<3
I think he will have his own storyline because in the description of dlc protoman in mm9 it says he has no story but in Bass description only says he can shoot in 7 directions.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he'll have his own story. And personally, I don't like his sprite. It's a pretty mediocre edit of RockMan, but whatever. Gospel looks good, though. I guess he'll be Forte's version of Rush Coil and the other items.
ReplyDeleteWow love that he's in and all but when i saw the sprites i thoght it was a joke. they look terrible, Bass's sprites look waaay worse then the other 8bit sprites they have made. even that fanmade 8bit version och rockman 7 did a much better job. and dont even get me started on that nose or whatever that is on treble looks like a nose from a bugs bunny or rin and stimpy show!

ReplyDeleteI exposed DLC secrets from tiles of the game.
That's the official 8-bit Bass sprite we've been waiting since MM9 to see!? What happened!? Neo Geo Pocket's was better! Even RM7 FC was better!
ReplyDeleteWhat happened, Capcom? All the graphics are great ... but not Bass? Why?
I feel the same way, Gauntlet, haha... it looks so messy. Oh well...
ReplyDeleteBass is suppose to be megaman clone that is why his sprite is just a megaman sprite edit.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the posts above...I am happy he is in there and all, but really now. IntiCreates got TOO lazy with Bass. I think Treble looks fine, but man...why couldn't they have made him look a little different from MegaMan's form? Like Proto Man does. The fact that he is a "clone" of MegaMan, doesn't mean an aesthetic clone. I mean, they all have the same body structure, but they LOOK different and stand different. Bah, I can't make sense of it, so I will just quickly make fun of it. They really think that little rectangle on his chest represents a blue (or purple) triangle? Whats with the one on his forehead?
ReplyDeleteBut you know...we all saw this coming. Judging from the blueprint sprite at the end of MM9, they probably already had this one drawn.
Protoman is a prototype of Megaman, that doesn't mean he should be a MM sprite edit any more than Bass.
ReplyDeleteI just don't see any excuse for the poor job on Bass' sprite. All the other sprites are great.
Bass is the 1st MM guy 2 have as I call it the Power Core like MMX or Zero, I Dont mind the sprite seeing as though Bass' detail is still there even with the low tech look, I can't wait to get him... Even Though in my eyes there is no better MM guy then Protoman... lol also known as Viewtiful Pro
