Rockman Zero Collection Trailer

Well, what do you think? The bottom screen looks to be used to navigate through a database of sorts and depict character artwork during gameplay sequences.

So far, Zero Collection is looking pretty spiffy. Here's hoping Capcom will shed some light on extra content and such soon!

UPDATE: Upon closer inspection, the menu depicted at the 1:15 point looks to an e-modification card menu...

The Rockman Zero modification cards were cards sold exclusively in Japan in 2004, and when used with Nintendo's e-Reader device, they would make minor modifications to Rockman Zero's 3 gameplay.  To accommodate for the lack of an e-Reader, Zero Collection looks to be integrating this system into the game in some way.  'Course, this is just speculation, so don't take my word for it.

  1. Some would say that the bottom screen is underutilized here, but I think focusing on character art works well for such an artistic series.

Also, the focus on the various weapons makes me wonder if Collection Mode lets you use any equipment in any game, making it one continuous experience.

  2. Do you think that they can put the RMZ remastered tracks on a DS cart even if there's 4 GBA games on it ?

  3. Oh God, I hope so. Having the remastered music on there would be great.

Man, I can't wait for this. I wonder what else they'll have in there? Hopefully they'll at least update the graphics a tad to match ZX... And expand the screen display so that it fills up the whole screen, without the need for black borders.

  4. Although I have all four GBA games I still crave a western release of this badly.

  5. I really wish they replace the GBA tracks with the remastered tracks for this. I really do. Unlikely, but a man can dream, can't he?

Still, all 4 games in one cart is more valuable than a single port. And the cost isn't that bad for 4 ports in one, unlike OSS which was a complete waste of cash.

  6. Holy cow, if those are the e+ card effects integrated into the game, I REALLY REALLY have to question why Capcom didn't start with an EXE Collection with the same function. Bahhh. Oh well. I like RZ's remix of Zero's X1 theme...

  7. I have never played any of the zero games before. This means that I have zero knowledge on the zero games. I am also not sure if I should buy the game.

  8. Looks more like they just included the artwork that was featured on the e-card (in a Gallery Mode), but you never know.

I was also wondering how they'd support EXE/MM:BN4 linking (the cyberworld addition of enemies, which if I remember correctly, made it harder if you used the cyberworld, but why would you use it anyway since using it would decrease your rank [seriously, wtf]?). I guess they could use the GBA slot on the DS, but that's incredibly unlikely, seeing how the DSi doesn't have one, and I can't even remember the last game made to use it as GBA connectivity (the last I remember was either Lunar Knights or the Castlevania before the last one?).

  9. Wow, I hope they include the e-cards. I was really annoyed how much the US got screwed over on all games that used e-cards. We never even got the rest of the levels for Super Mario Advance 4 for crying out loud.

  10. I've never played all 4 games, but it looks good, lets hope for a US release.

  11. The collection mode they spoke of might actually be collecting those E-reader cards or something similar that enhances the gameplay? Awesome.

On the subject of this game, anyone else hankering for a portable classic/X series collection? Why can't I ever play those games on the go?

  12. The text from the screenshot says the same thing as the card picture. I'm sure that means it's true, the e-reader functions will be integrated into the game in some way.

I really doubt any remastered tracks will be, though. They still want you to buy those separately, and besides, most of those would need editing to meet the stage music requirements and space requirements. But the original music is good enough, IMO. Being able to import weapons between games would also be awesome, but I kinda doubt it, especially for the poor Z-Knuckle, which didn't even get featured in the video.

This might be the best collection since.... well, it might be the best. We'll see.

  13. I'm just glad they're paying it some goddamn attention.

  14. I think they should have a megaman zero 5 in it. That would really make me buy this game.

  15. Zero 5? How is that supposed to work? You can't have a new game if the hero's dead, you know...

Pop in some extra goodies and some remastered music/visuals and I'm sold, though.

  16. yea zero 5 like something that would lead to zx
