Spotted at a local BIC Camera in Tokyo...
Hi-Def TV demonstrations usually tout visually impressive spectacles that really show off what the output can do, but here we have Mega Man 2, an old 8-bit game that's not as technologically advanced as one would suspect. Interesting choice for a demo, wouldn't you say?

- The image quality is too good for the NES output, so I assume it's an emulator running Rockman 2.
ReplyDeleteOr it could be a downloadable version? Maybe? Seems like that's more likely.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the Virtual Console version of Rockman 2. ^^
ReplyDeleteIt is possible to make older games look and run as they did on a CRT on an LCD screen. Granted the addition hardware needed, such as an XRGB device, but they could be trying to sell that in addition to the HDTV as well. That or they could be running Rockman 2 off of the Wii or PS3. All I can say is it would be really cool if I walked into a large retailer here in the States one day to see Mega Man 2 running on the big screen.
ReplyDeleteI guess someone was screwing around and felt like doing it for the lulz. XD
ReplyDeleteOn another note, the word verification I just got was "cunnilingus"
This thing is psychic. :/
Uh... Yeah, watch it expand that 256x224 output ever so crisply!
ReplyDeleteShoulda been Megaman Powered Up 2...
ReplyDeleteoh no, you got them backwards. The NES output is way too good for the HDTV. :D
