Looks as if a third Mega Man graphic novel is coming down the pike. According to Amazon.com, Mega Man Megamix volume 2 is slated to ship out on May 14th, 2010 -- a mere three months between volume 1's release (Feb. 13, 2010). Given the fact that Udon's recent MM books have seen their fair share of delays and bumps, this release date is most likely subject to change.
On a related note, LilFormers has posted the English cover art for Mega Man Megamix volume 1 and the upcoming Mega Man ZX graphic novel:
From the looks of it, they're both practically identical to their Japanese counterparts. No complaints here!
You'll have to excuse me if I'm a bit skeptical they will actually release on those dates. Don't get me wrong, I'm very grateful to them for picking these up. I just don't hold my breath for the release days :)
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though they're adapting the 2002 editions of Megamix instead of the 2009 ones, despite Matt's report that they were using the latest art from Ariga. Strange.
ReplyDeleteMatt here from UDON!
ReplyDeleteYes, we are adapting the 3-volume Enterbrain version of the series, no the more recent Wedge version. This is mainly became manga deals, especially video game manga, take a long time (you need to make deals between the Japanese publisher, Japanese game company, American wing of the game company, the artist). When we started this deal, the Enterbrain version was the latest version.
Though what I say is accurate, that Ariga himself has given us the best files of the artwork.
Interesting. So the art edits Ariga made to the 2009 version will be present in this one? Cool.
ReplyDeleteI don't think he's saying that Anon #2, I think he means Ariga has given them the highest quality art of the original series.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would release digital versions. I'd gladly pay money but I'm not the only one who uses my mailbox, hehe.
