Ask Scott McNeil!

Unfortunately, it looks like my planned interview with Andrew Francis, the voice of Mega Man (NTWarrior), is going to have to wait a while. According to his agent, Mr. Francis is currently busy shooting a film in New Zealand and will not be available for quite some time. As such, he won't be able to answer your questions. However, once production wraps up (summer 2010), I'll proceed with the interview. In the meantime, I figured it'd be appropriate to secure another interview....

Anyone up for Scott McNeil?

For those who don't recognize the name, Mr. McNeil is a voice widely heard in three different Mega Man cartoons, including Dr. Wily and Proto Man in the 1995 Ruby-Spears cartoon, Dr. Wily in the Upon A Star OVA, and various Navis in Mega Man NT Warrior.

McNeil should be much easier to get in contact with, and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to answer your questions. Got a question for him? Ask in the comments.

  3. Screw Gutsman.
    This guy was frickin' SHADEMAN.

Also, Rattrap, Silverbolt, Dinobot and Waspinator from Beast Wars.

On that note, ask him which of the roles from Beast Wars he enjoyed more... OR, which one of all the roles from different shows he partake in, is his favorite.

  4. Meeting the voice of our old friend, the good doctor, would be pretty interesting. Are you going to get to meet him in person?

Either way, one standard question would be to see what his favorite Rockman game is/was, and what he thought of the new Rockman 9.

Also, it'd be interesting to see what inspired his version of Dr. Wily and why it varied so much from the games' version (and if he had a problem with that, or if Wily's zaniness made it that much more enjoyable for him).

I might have some more questions some other time, but you know, good questions are hard to come up with! Once you've got an interview locked completely in, I'm sure we'll all come up with some good ones!

  5. For Scott McNeil: What percentage of Gundam Wings total voice work was yours? 60%? 75%? Was it just you alone in the studio with the entire script before you?

  9. What was it like working on the Ruby-Spears Megaman production? (Did anything interesting happen, was it enjoyable, what was it like to work with the other VAs, etc.)

  12. Nice. Okay, here's my question for Mr. Scott McNeil:

Where do you get inspirations for the characters voices that you play? From the style of character or from your invisions of the character?

  13. Scott McNeil will definitely be available. He loves doing things for the fans. Unfortunately I went to a con and he was doing a panel. He got asked a lot of questions so I cant really come up with any unique ones at the moment, lol...at any rate, he is one of my all time favorite voice actors.

  14. My question is this: How was it playing Hohenheim in "Fullmetal Alchemist?"

  15. Do you ever find yourself speaking in the voices of characters you've done during everyday conversation.

  16. It's kinda funny how he went from ordering CutMan and GutsMan around to playing CutMan and GutsMan themselves, between the two MegaMan shows.
