“…we don’t have an “official” mascot. We have a logo, that’s it. As far as unofficial mascots go, however, yes, MM would definitely be that. I have actually heard someone discuss this, and I think the reasoning was something akin to Mega Man best embodying the spirit of the company. With so many characters under their belt, I guess it is difficult to determine just who best represents Capcom....though I personally like to believe it has always been the late CAPtain COMmando.
So apparently in addition to making great games, Capcom is also here to save the planet from overthrow by evil robot masters (and according to recorded history so far, I’d say we’re doing pretty well–2009 and still no overthrows). ” – Capcom’s Senior Manager of Community, Seth Killian

FUCK YEAH! CAPTAIN COMMANDO!
ReplyDeleteI think it should be a Servebot or Dan Hibiki
ReplyDeleteWhats with the swearing ? Jeez!
ReplyDeleteWasn't Captain Commando Capcom's mascot back in the old days? I remember him being in all the Megaman booklets. I wonder why they decided to stop using him?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I was thinking the same thing, I'm pretty sure he was the mascot, everything Capcom had a Captain Commando character on it somewhere in the manual.
ReplyDeleteCaptain Commando was indeed their old mascot. Even so, I think his look and game rather faded with the late 80s into the 90s. Thats when the Blue Bomber burst onto the scene and truly placed Capcom on the map. And look at them, they don't even consider him their mascot. Mega has a lot more character than their logo alone, thats for certain. Although still a Mega Man series, I think the ServBots were designed based upon their yellow and blue logo. Thus, I think they should be their mascots as well. Doesnt really matter though, Capcom is a great company, its just that some of the time they can release some mediocre mess.
ReplyDeleteits better if they add Capt.Commando in the up coming Tat.VS.Capcom..... plzz....
