Marty K whipped an Action Replay code that converts European signals to NTSC, subsequently making Battle & Chase fully playable on North American PlayStations. The only real drawback is a small part of the screen gets cut off, but other than that, it's perfect. The code below:
D0039168 0001
80039168 0000
D00B98B0 0001
800B98B0 0000
800B98B0 0000
Previously, the only method of fixing B&C was to burn a copy of the game and a patch onto a CD-R; a somewhat dangerous method as commercial CD-Rs can damage the PSX's laser.
Happy gaming! Thanks, Marty.
What happened to the post about the song in RnR3?
ReplyDeleteepsxe, epsxe, epsxe and that´s it!!
ReplyDeleteyeah, or if you want to play it in america, there's always Mega Man X Collection. may not be as cheap, but you do get the option of either GCN or PS2 controller, with no need for an action replay.
ReplyDeleteAnd Mega Man X Collection, but I prefer the Japanese version because of the things that where removed in the PAL and MMXC versions.
ReplyDeleteWhy this kind of codes are made for America, but never for Europe?
ReplyDeleteOk, I guess we'll never know where it went then.
ReplyDeleteThere's also a patch you can apply to the ISO before burning that will fix it completely. I did it once, I posted the offset values here:

Did you add that last bit after I posted my comment?
ReplyDeleteNope, it's been up there since last night.
ReplyDeletelol, never even saw it. Is that proven that they damage the laser? How is that, from reflection for the disc not being black?
ReplyDeleteSomething along those lines I'm told.
