Now don't get overly excited, but N4G and VGReleases have added Mega Man Legends 3 to their respective databases, listing the title for a PS3/Xbox 360 release. Whether this is a screw up or a leak is anyone's guess:
Mega Man Legends 3 PS3 (VGReleases)
Mega Man Legends 3 X360 (N4G)
Mega Man Legends 3 PS3 (N4G)
What do you think?
UPDATE: Hate to say it, but this is looking mighty fake right now. Apparently, game listings on both N4G and VGReleases can be edited by anyone without moderation.
Hmm... I think capcom will release MML3 on Wii (for budget, popularity, etc...) but XBOX and PS3? Is this fake or is it real?
ReplyDeleteWell, we'll see what happens.
wait wat omg wtf do want!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope it's not a fake...
;_;
A part of me is hoping this is true, but the other part is hoping it's for Wii instead. I'd love to see Mega Man Legends 3 with the best graphics possible, but I'd rather not have to buy a PS3 or Xbox360 to play it. >_> Well, let's just see what happens. This is the same way we found out about Mega Man 9 isn't it? I'm still going to take it with a grain of salt for now.
ReplyDeleteI remember that Capcom wants it over to Wii. I hope it is just a screw up. We will wait and see what happens.
ReplyDeleteI would *guess* that it's just speculation. Kinda like how a lot of sites used to create pages and categories for games they expected to one day come out. Gamefaqs used to have quite a few of those.
ReplyDeleteI most certainly am going to get as excited as I've ever been in my life and I'm not going to let you or anyone else stop me.
ReplyDeleteI find this really hard to believe. I don't think it's true.
ReplyDeleteAll three systems? You'd think it'd be another digital distribution game if it's true.
ReplyDeleteIt's a tiny bit more likely than your usual leak with E3 going on though, so let's keep our fingers crossed!
I want to shoot at the person who listed that because as far as I'm concerned, there won't be a MML 3 soon enough. There's no solid evidence of it coming out. No, I'm not being pessimistic, I'm just trying to be realistic here. If it sounds to good to be true... it is.
ReplyDeleteOh, misread. Wii wasn't included.
ReplyDeleteA disc-based MML with current-gen graphics? Wouldn't complain!
Well, if it's not for wii, then crap.
ReplyDeleteI don't think this is too hard to believe.
ReplyDeleteCapcom has really been bringing on the retro fan service lately. Bionic Commando, Mega Man 9, Street Fighter 4 etc.
Also we've been getting a bunch of hints in other games. Dead Rising had a servebot cameo, Trigger appeared in Tatsunoko vs Capcom.
Speaking of Dead Rising, I don't think the first one sold all that great, at least not enough to really warrant a sequel, yet its getting one, it shows Capcom is willing to take a risk, so a title like Legends 3, isn't really all that far fetched. Now if you'll excuse me I'll be in that corner silently getting my hopes up.
I doubt it. Capcom has already stated that is Legends 3 were to be made it would most likely be for Wii.
ReplyDeleteI hope it's a fake or speculation, I don't want to buy a 360 just for Legends 3.
OMG YES PLEASE!!
ReplyDeleteDo anyone know when this update was made?
ReplyDeleteit is possibl;e that they could announce this at e3, there are plenty on oppertunties to announce today, so lets hope!
ReplyDelete- I would trust if such game had been registered, much like the MegaMan9 case. For now, a mistake. ^_^;;
ReplyDeleteHELL YEAH!
ReplyDeleteAnd plz stop talking about making it on the wii. I want the full experience baby!
Those are very, very good news! I hope it's true and is released to Wii.
ReplyDeleteWell, to the person that said that this used to be common when people expected a game to come out, I hardly doubt that's this is the case. I don't think many people really "expect" DASH3 to come out any time soon at this point. However, I'm taking this with a grain of salt for now. Though I was one of the people who denied Rockman 9 until it was shown in more magazines, so who knows.
ReplyDeleteIf this is true, though, this is as exciting as news of Golden Sun DS was.
@Beefkeek
ReplyDeleteActually Dead Rising sold quite well. 1.66 million worldwide(1 mil alone in the US) so that definitely counts as successful enough to warrant a sequel

We'll talk about wanting it on the wii all we want, thanks very much. Forget the motion controls, I want the IR pointer functionality in this game. Plus the nunchuk+wiimote scheme is just so much better for when you're sprawled out on the couch.
ReplyDeleteIf it comes out for 360 or PS3, I won't be able to get it. I would gladly buy all the systems if I could, but I've only enough to support one system, and the Wii has the kind of titles I like.
and actually, it wouldnt just be for wii if it were made, legends 1 and 2 were on nintendo, microsoft and sony platforms, so it can be on them :D
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! OH MY...!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I'm kidding. If it's real, then sure, I'm excited. I want official announcements, though.
For everyone who's saying "I hope it's fake if it's not on the Wii" - could you shut up? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteNo offense, but if Legends 3 is finally coming out, I really don't give a f*ck what system it's on and you guys jinxing it isn't fair to the rest of us. I don't have a PS3 or a 360 yet either, but I'm not condemning the possibility for everyone else because I (and many, many others) been waiting for years for this and it's selfish to "hope it's fake" just 'cause you don't have the system. Besides, I've been planning on getting a PS3/360 anyway. :P
While I agree that the most predictable choice would have been to go on Wii, I'm going to assume that Capcom is going to keep the more casual MegaMan titles for Nintendo systems (Classic, Starforce / Wii, DS) and perhaps finally give DASH/Legends the visual finesse it deserves.
Man, I know this has a very, very slim chance of being true, but if it is... I cannot express my excitement in words. I'm SO hyped. Lol.

I agree that placing Legends 3 on the Wii would make a lot of sense in terms of control schemes and popularity of the console.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, Inafune himself noted that the framework used in Lost Planet and Dead Rising was also intended for Legends 3, which somewhat implies that, from the start, they intended to make Legends 3 on the PS3/360.
Of course, Dead Rising was ported to the Wii, so the argument is not completely fool-proof. Nonetheless, it supports the possibility of Legends 3 on the PS3/360.

What's funny is, though I enjoyed the Dash series, I wasn't like a huge fan until recently. I guess the story was what turned me off because I wanted the classic megaman storyline, but gameplay wise, the game was awesome. The Dash original story wasn't bad either, just wanted a 3-D megaman classic.
ReplyDelete*Reads comments*
ReplyDeleteNo one said "I hope it's fake if it's not on the Wii", they only wished it is also released to Wii along the PS3 and 360 releases.
@Anon: Hmm, I feel like an idiot now. I swear I read someone saying they hope it's fake or something along those lines. I guess I got overly excited or something. Sorry guys. >_>
ReplyDeleteMaybe I was just riled-up from "I hope it is just a screw up." and "oh god, please no, that means that my hopes for MMX9 are dead…" from the MegaMan Network post on the topic.
Sorry again. :(

Hmm, that's interesting. You know, when the formerly cellphone-exclusive FFIV: The After Years was announced for WiiWare, I was pretty happy. One thought crossed my mind: If THIS formerly cellphone-exclusive game is getting released on a console network, then could the same thing possibly happen to that cellphone-exclusive MML game (The Great Five Island Adventure)? Perhaps that is exactly what this "Mega Man Legends 3" is. I doubt it, though, since the platforms announced for this MML3 are the consoles themselves rather than the service networks, and I doubt they'd port a cellphone game directly to a current-gen console.
ReplyDeleteWhy aren't my comments making it through lately?
ReplyDeleteStill a game such as megaman legends 3 would do best on the wii for a lot of reasons...
ReplyDeleteI hate to break your dreams, but vgreleases doesn't seem to be all that reliable a site.

That's why you can't have the Wii as your only system. Either you get a PS3 and Wii or a 360 and Wii.
ReplyDeletekeiji did say that him and alot of the team would love to make a Rockman Dash 3, and did so in a video interview. it's up on youtube. i wouldn't say it confirms this, but it does give some credence to it. i mean, it is kind of apparent that capcom likes rockman dash, or characters from it wouldn't keep appearing in games such as TVC and MVC.
ReplyDelete@Devilus: I totally agree with you. Using the Wiimote to aim would be amazing and I'm sure they could use the motion controls cleverly like Zelda did - not too much, but enough to make a difference and used intuitively. I could handle either route, though - PS3/360 means we get a pretty Legends, Wii means we get a fun legends. At this point, I'm pretty sure the lot of us would be floored with either. :P
ReplyDelete-Age
It's possible, of course, that they are working on this, but then there's this:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.themmnetwork.com/?p=1772
I'd like to get my hopes up about this too, but then again, I'd hate to be really disappointed about it with a big letdown later on, so I'll probably wait until *crosses fingers* we see some sort of announcement later on if they really start working on such a game.
Someone asked if we would ever see a port of "Great 5 Island Adventure," and you never know. As "Final Fantasy IV: The After Years" has finally made its way onto the Virtual Console, so too could that game if Capcom and the game's Japanese mobile distributor wanted to redistribute the game. As with X9, and MM10, if there's enough interest, it may get done.
@Ageman20XX, And in addition to that an mml3 on the wii would mean a braoder game audience considering who would buy the game, well ofcourse us fans but the megaman genre of legends would obuisly atract the onces having a wii more, im not saying legends is child/family like that but for those who do not know it woulden quote apeal to the regular ps3 or 360 users. either way it would be awsome, my concern is just that the game would sell a lot less then capcom would never invest in it agian. but as the last post i read here told us this anouncment is most likley wishfull thinking of some random member at that page. still, lets keep our hopes up.
ReplyDeleteWell good thing I didn't get my hopes up. You guys all argued for nothing.
ReplyDeleteIn fact--even if it were real, you all argued for nothing.
Figures it'd be a retarded practical joke. Well, back to the Old Folks' Home for me... You coming, Flash? XD
ReplyDeleteDamn. That is too bad. I saw the post now that you updated it. I would have been flipping out if I saw it beforehand. Still, it would have seemed somewhat iffy. Well, we all can still hope. I too don't care what system its on. But think about this. With the mechanics used in Lost Planet and Dead Rising, plus their sequels, imagine how perfected they could make Legends 3's gameplay? Things take time, and I have been waiting this long, make a good game with more!
ReplyDeleteWOW how about the MMX9 with a new character... they forgot about to mention that may be on TGS this year... hoping :)
ReplyDeleteif this is a fake, i'm gonna the person who put it up.
ReplyDeleteif this is real, i don't care which system it's on (unless it's 360 only, then i'll be mad) i'm eventually getting a PS3.
Well, I have both a PS3 and Wii, so if it's true (probably not), I can get it either way.
ReplyDeleteFFFFUUUUU-
ReplyDeleteI hope it's on the 360. In all honesty it would make the most sense. Which system has the biggest fan base that aren't casual gamers Xbox360. what system would be best for a fps Xbox360. Let's face it worst choice would be the Wii. Name some good fps for the Wii and I mean actual good ones. Actually name a good shooter on the Wii. If the PS3 got it I doubt it would be exclusive. Also Capcom shows no loyalty to Nintendo. There's Deadrising, Streetfighter2hdremix, Megaman9, Streetfighter4, and Devilmaycry 4 to prove that. So I'm looking forward for the game on 360 better controls and good graphics. I love capcom but I doubt they'd need Ps3 graphics. Hoping the game is real and expecting it on the 360.
ReplyDeleteWhat troll would do this? >.>
ReplyDeletePlease pay attention:
ReplyDeleteMegaman creator already mentioned that he would like it for Wii, thats it.
c´mon capcom, don´t let us down to all oldschool mm fans, i can forgive the fact of the ryusey saga (or whatever it´s spelt), or a possible zac efron/hannah montana duo performance on that saga (hahaha hey capcom, don´t read my mind, i have real bad traps you know); but with this "new" my hopes are once again refilled.
ReplyDeleteBut when Megaman 9 was first announced, it happened in the same way, so I don't think it might be a fake (hope I'm not wrong)
ReplyDelete(Not the same Metalman from before. I don't even have a 360 :P) I hope it's released for all 3 consoles and, why not, NDS and PSP.
ReplyDeletewell...the legends series went furthest on the ps 1 netendo dropped Megaman altogheter back with the 64...besides PS and maybe just maybe 360 would make sence...but of course since i own all teh systems i know for fact that what you get on the WII is diffrent from what you get on the others...(i have the same game on wii and x-box and they are barely similar, the same goes for the DS and other nitendo games) (p.s. my spelling is wrong but i don't care...MEGAMAN LEGENDS YOU RETURN TO US...NO THANKS TO YOU RESIDENT EVIL 5
ReplyDeleteanyway i'd say there will be a 50% chance of PS focus, 20% chance of X-box focus, and 30% wii

ReplyDeletewell i found this interesting comment on the internets and i know im a little late it is by some guy called mecha jesus:" I couldn’t agree more about getting a third legends. The first one still remains one of my favorite games. I haven’t played the second one yet even though I own it. I think I shall have to go back and play through both of them. Not really sure if I agree about the Wii part though. You bring up good points for the Wii’s case but I have to say that I think the 360 would fair better. Sure it’s a little more expensive to develop for but you also have to remember that that’s where most of the ‘hardcore’ gamers are right now. They’re going to be the ones that know the series the best. The Wii, unfortunately, is populated mostly by parents and their kids who I highly doubt would know or have any interest in the series. Plus a large part of me wants a pretty high-def mega man. =P Anywho, you never know what Capcom will do these days. They seem to be going back to their old series quite a bit."
ReplyDeleteas much as i loved the legends series of megaman i dont think this is truecuz ive read that the legends series isnt as popular so capcom may not make the game. i hope im wrong cuz i really want to see the series continued
ReplyDeletethat's kinda true....
ReplyDeleteit didn't have a good opening in USA but it did gain momentum...and the digital whatever the hell you call it completely failed...
Legends has more hope at reviving megaman than all others
also in Japan Legends has been making a come back...cellphone games galore seriously theres already a legends 4 but only in Japan...lucky jerks
why cant it be on all system why does it only be on wii or on xbox360 and ps3. it doesn't have to be one way or oanother. i hate that the wii is seperated as one section
ReplyDeleteThe legends expirence started as MegaMan 64 and I was really dissapointed when legends 2 didnt make it for nintendo. if they MegaMan Legends 3 PLLEEAASSEE make it for Wii.
ReplyDeleteRumor in the industry is a lot of developers are pulling out of nintendo support. The new 3DS that debuted at E32010 came with mixed views because nintendo calmly admitted the system will damage children vision. Its likely MML3 will hit PS3/360 as well as its episode content.
ReplyDeleteWow anon, your fanboy is REALLY showing. Reception for the 3DS has been unanimously positive across the world. 75 games from over a 100 publishers at launch.
