Original Rush Painting Up For Bidding

eBay, home of everything you could ever want and not, has a true one of a kind item up on the auction block; an original airbrush painting of Rush used in MM packaging design:

"This is an auction for a Rush the Robotic Dog Original Airbrush Painting. Rush is a character in the Mega Man video game, this art was used in the video game packaging. I am the original artist. I did this a few years ago, but I don't remember exactly which game or platform it was used for. I believe it was done in the early 1990s. It is an airbrush painting on gessoed plexiglas, 20" x 11". "

After looking over my own personal collection, I too am a bit bewildered as to what game this art belonged to. Are we looking at unused promotional artwork?

Regardless, this is a very awesome auction that no MM collector should pass up. Bidding begins at $0.99 with $13.00 shipping. Best of luck!

  1. He says it was done a few years ago, and then it was done in the early 90s? What?

  2. For older people, the 90's ARE a few years ago, lol.

This goes back to the idea that the exact limits of "few" have changed between our generation and the last.

  3. $13 for shipping? I love how ebay limits shipping for all video games to $4, but everything else is wide open.

  5. I can't figure out what promotion in was used for either, but my best guess would be something Megaman 7-related (what tipped me off were the eyes; they're done in a similar style to Megaman's on the MM7 boxart).

  6. You're complaining about $13 shipping? It's a piece of ORIGINAL ARTWORK on a huge piece of heavy PLEXIGLASS. Unless you want him to wrap it in newspaper and ship it to you media rate for $5. Everyone wants something for free. Boo hoo.

  7. Reasonable shipping /= Free.

I could easily ship that for $7 Priority Mail in a box. We're talking weight, not collectability.

  8. btw - I'm a bit skeptical on whether this guy's story is true or not. For all we know, it's just fan art.

  9. its not fan art, and it was done for a mega man II (gb) magazine ad.
