NP polls in no way affect VC releases which is truly unfortunate as we're well over due for some more Virtual Console MM love.

There are tons of Japan only games on the SNES that need to make their way over to the Virtual console: TERRANIGMA, TREASURE HUNTER G, BAHAMUT LAGOON, SEIKEN DENSETSU 3, ROMANCING SAGA 3, and many more. Still, as WILY WARS was once on the Sega Channel, I doubt it'd be a big deal at all to put it on Wii's VC.
ReplyDeleteSeriously, it'd be a snap to put wily wares on the VC, but I highly doubt we'll ever see it for the same reason you'll probably never see Super Mario All-Stars: why put 3 titles up for one price when you can sell them seperately? Even if it is remade and has extra levels, they could be afraid selling it would hurt sales of MM1-3 for NES. I hope they prove me wrong though, I pretty much only have a Genesis to play my copy of it and I had to mod the dang thing just to do it.

ReplyDeletePlus, I got SMAS after owning SMB1, 2, and 3, and I'd get MM:TWW just the same; they'd basically be getting money from me twice.
Or, given I have the MMAC, it would be a way to get any money from me at all, since I already have the 8bit versions.
Also, MM:TWW has been topping that poll when it can for some time now.

Dave - not saying it's not my personal preference to own the originals. I still got the NES carts of MM, just saying that's how I think they think lol

However, you do get the WILY TOWER bonus game for completing MM1-3, and I've always found it to be fun to play (albeit short, since there's only 3 RM's and Wily's tower).
