I would absolutely love to see something similar to Bionic Commando with added mechanics and the like. Still, I completely understand where s-kill is coming from; would a "remake" tarnish the already classic mechanics of MM2? Is it even worth the time and effort to add all sorts of new bells and whistles?"MM2 gets nods from Capcom in a lot of places, so it's definitely at the top of our minds. Whether a straight HD port would work is an open question. To my mind, the model there is not MM Powered Up, but more like Bionic Commando: Rearmed, which started with all the original level designs, but added a lot of interesting new mechanics, etc.
MM has already explored a lot of additional mechanics over the course of many games, so it's overall a trickier proposition, but I've gotta say I'd love to see it myself."
We'll see what the future holds.
Not interesting.. Make a new.. Not a remake, thanks!
ReplyDeleteNeeds to be cell shaded like EXE on th gamecube was. Also needs to be on PS3 because it has loads of power that would make sexy smooth 3D models.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter after all. People seems to deny retro style. As far as I can tell you, 3D engines are the default - the MM9 release was a shock, "how could it be 8-bit nowadays". Trying to get 2D improved, things were boring, as MegaMan1 was turned into MMPoweredUP, even with great new options.
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit that 3D killing worlds are the default gaming scene. New kids will never have a chance of enjoying a NES like we did, or even the evolution NES to SNES, N64 and GameCube, unfortunately.
I dislike people that disagree of releasing improved retro titles/games. :(
@Rockmon,
ReplyDeleteNo, I prefer Wii! Dont make one for PS3...
Yes, I would love to see a remake of Mega Man 2 in HD. As long as the speed of the character models and the hit detection are close to the NES version as possible.
ReplyDeleteWiimake! I'm with Fabiano on the shame of children only playing uber-violent games and scoffing at more mild titles, not enjoying a wider range of old and new classics alike.
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with the occasional Halo or GoW bout, but don't get stuck in it!
