Nearly a year after an array of rumors and speculation, we may have some concrete information regarding the probability of a Rockman ZX 3. Capcom of Japan's head of strategic marketing, Yuji Itou, apparently responded to a fan's concern for the title:
"We're working on a few strategies, a ZX3 is certainly a possibility. Together, let us determine the franchise's future!"
And there you have it. I can't vouch for the legitimacy of such a response, but I can assure you that the fan who e-mailed Itou-san is a trusted friend of mine and a frequent PRC visitor (who has chosen to remain anonymous). Best not get your hopes up; ZX3 rumors are known to
fall over like a led balloon.

lol, MML3 was also always a possibility too. If there's a game, a sequel is a possibility. This means nothing.
ReplyDeleteAlthough it probably won't happen, a ZX 3 would be nice. I'd rather see Mega Man 10, X9, or Legends 3, though. (Or Battle Network 7, but that series is over, so...)

Dude there IS going to be a zx3. If any of u have played zxa you will know that it ended with a cliffhanger much like zero2. Capcom usually follows up their cliffhangers. I say usually because of well.... Legends. And for that they shall never be forgiven.

ReplyDeleteHaha, NO they do NOT usually. Quite the opposite. It is common practice to end all games with a cliffhanger to provide an excuse for a sequel if the market calls for it.

ReplyDeleteThere probably will be a ZX3, at least at some point, since it helps continue to slowly bridge the gap towards the Legends time period. Regardless of whether or not this is a rumor, I can almost guarantee that some folks over at Capcom have something regarding this game in the works.
ReplyDeleteAs for MMX9, I'm fairly sure they will keep their word regarding it, especially since MM9 did so well. As for when we will see it, it probably won't be as soon as we'd like.

ReplyDeleteIt seems you never saw that episode of Mythbusters. I never played ZX, but I will hold hope for it until #3 comes out.
I certainly hope so. ZX was actually the one that got me into this entire series.
