While browsing through the many posts on Cap Kobun, I stumbled across a World Hobby Fair report, detailing the boss design contest "stage event." Here, Capcom reps talked about the contest, discussing everything we already know while showing off contest winners from past EXE and Shooting Star games...Interesting.
Now, why show only the EXE and Shooting Star winners? We've been led to assume the contest can be about anything from Mavericks to Robot Masters and yet, only Net Navis and FMians were on display at the event. Also, let's not forget the official WHF boss design flier used the images of two SSR winning designs, Goat Kung Fu (RnR2) and Moon Disaster (SSR3). Is this a sign of what's to come? Maybe.
Still, if the contest is related to EXE/SSR, why then are various Rockmen promoting said contest ?(pictured) Your thoughts?
It could be that most of the entrants are from EXE/SSR. It could also be that past contests before EXE were not hosted by the same group. It could also mean an EXE/SSR hybrid game.
ReplyDeleteThat would be cool...
Anyway, I'm one of the few who takes this as good "news", because I love EXE and would gladly take another entry. (Provided it was made by the original producer and team.)
Uhhh... It's a Trap?
ReplyDeleteWhy do I get the feeling that this is going to be an EXE/SS crossover game?
ReplyDelete"Maybe"? Are you kidding? Since CORO is involved in it, expect nothing more but another EXE-type game (this includes Ryuusei) for kids. Maybe RnR4. Maybe something totally new.
ReplyDeleteBut definitely not Classic/X/Dash/ZX (although Capcom will probably create another Rockman platformer on DS someday) - none of them just suits the Coro's readers age.
i love the post from the guy who bashes exe as a "kid's" game. you should take a look at your beloved X and ZX games not one of them is aimed at anyone older then 13.
ReplyDeleteactually I think the boss contest may be for that mega man cross over game were all the mega men (from the various series) would fight. the director for star force said he wanted to make the game in an issue of Nintendo power last year
I also don't get why EXE is supposed to be any more "kiddy" than the other Rockman games. It's ludicrous. :P
ReplyDeleteBest case scenario: They're making a massive crossover game, and the reason they're accepting bosses of all types is that the player can go to all the different series' worlds and fight bosses there, hence accepting any series.
ReplyDeleteThough the EXE/SSR crossover seems a tad more likely.
Oh man, if it's an EXE/SSR crossover, I'm stoked... It would please both EXE and SSR lovers I think...
ReplyDeleteBut, no love for the classic, x, legends, zero, or zx people if that's true. :( I have faith that they will appear soon though. :)
I think the only way they'd do an all-series crossover would be a fighting game as was mentioned in Nintendo Power...
it could just be that it just shows the winners of the most recent contest
ReplyDeleteSigh. . .man i knew it was going to be like this, an EXE/SSR game? Another one already? Not surprised by this but good news for those EXE/SSR gamers and fans alike and have fun. But too bad for me. . i thought it really was going to be about the classic, X or even the legends serious, o well.
ReplyDeleteIt will be a crossover I can assure that. They wouldn't promote a boss contest for the EXE/RnR series like this. And seeing as how multiple Megamen are involved, it would be unwise to say this is strictly a one-series game in development. I think this game will be a crossover-type.
ReplyDeleteIts most likely going to be a crossover. Although it seems to be at a high rate that it will be EXE/SSR related.
ReplyDeleteThey probably just showed those two because those were the most recent boss design contests, methinks.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Spike, wording and everything. XD
