MegaMan 9 Sells 140,000, Makes Capcom a Million Dollars Richer
According to VGChartz, MM9 was downloaded a total of 140,000 times in its first week, (North America) deeming it WiiWare's biggest debut title.
"The main story for this week is Mega Man 9, which had by far the biggest debut on WiiWare to date, and in one week is already third in lifetime sales (behind My Pokemon Ranch and Defend Your Castle) and in lifetime revenue (behind My Pokemon Ranch and FFCC: My Life As a King). It's sales are likely to be very front-loaded, but it should still stay in first place for several weeks."
(Also notable is the fact it grossed $1,400,000!)
This is just fantastic news! The best part is, these numbers only apply to the North American Wii version. Can you imagine the worldwide totals on all three consoles?
I think it's safe to assume MM9 has paved the way for a possible MM10 and god knows what else.
MegaMan 9's PAL Numbers Are Disappointing
According to VGChartz's latest PAL charts, MegaMan 9 (WiiWare) was downloaded 9,000 times on its first day in PAL regions. Compared to the immense first day sales of the North American version (60,000), that's disappointing to say the least.
Again, the number is based upon day one downloads. There is a strong possability the number grow throughout the course of the week. Or not. Hoepfully, we'll get some sort of followup.
Anyone else eager to hear MM9's total North American numbers thus far? I know I am.

MegaMan 9 Retail Box Is Being Sent Out...Sort Of
Speculation indicates the first 200 commentors in this blog post have receive/or will be receiving the promo code. (Don't ask me. Although I'm one of the first commentors, I've yet to receive the code)
The promo code also comes with a special URL leading to a secret area in the Capcom Shop. There, you're prompted to enter your code in order to purchase the package.
More info as it develops.

A Look At SSR3's 'Modification Gear', Burai Noise Change?
A preview for SSR3's successor to the Wave Command Cards, "Modification Gear", has appeared on Webshop Cereza's online shop.
The cards shown seem to hint at the possibility of a Burai Noise Change.
Courtesy of RockmanREDUX:
A preview image of the Noise Kaizou Gear cards for the upcoming Shooting Star Rockman 3 has appeared on a listing at online store Web Cereza. Successing the Wave Command Cards from the previous title, among these cards we have something that might be interesting: Burai Noise, with a Spade in the top right corner (linking back to our 5 card setup?). The other two aren’t as obvious (or clear) to read, but from appearances the second should be a White Card (the text on bottom says White No. and what I think is 1); a Stealth Laser card being visible. As for the third card, all that can be read from the title is Ultimate —, but it can be seen that there are three wood-type bosses we’ve already encountered: Goat Kung-Fu, Ophiuchus Queen and Condor Geograph. The last figure on that card, the big green brute-looking thing may be a new wood-type boss, if the pattern follows.
Hopefully, we'll get some clarification from the latest Coro Coro. Stay tuned!

On SSR3 Marketing (Or Lack Thereof) and Rockman's Future
In the past, Capcom of Japan has branched out to other multiple forms of media to hype and milk these upcoming EXE/Shooting Star styled games, specifically with toys/merchandise and an annual animated television show aimed at youngsters. This marketing tactic proved incredibly successful for the past six or seven years, attracting multiple newcomers to the franchise.
Strangely, CoJ isn't following this pattern this year.
SSR3 will be released without the aid of merchandise (primarily Takara-Tomy toys) or an animated adaption (usually supplied by Xebec Inc.). To make things ever more stranger, Capcom of Japan did not outline their RM marketing strategy in their annual report. Like at all. Instead, Capcom made it apparent they shall heavily invest in the Monster Hunter series.
Has Capcom of Japan cut its partnership with Takara-Tomy, Xebec Animation and TV Tokyo after so many years?
Sure, we've still got a months worth of announcements, but usually, these marketing plans are announced mid summer. We're past that point now.
So, what's going on? Simple: The Shooting Star series is a financial failure.
Let's break it down:
-Each entry in the series has sold below expectations: SSR1 sold around 500,00 units (combined total of all three versions), Capcom had hoped to reach 700,000. (a number that was previously met by EXE series entries.)
SSR2 sold around 300,00 (both versions combined). Capcom had hoped to ship at least 600,000.
-The ten minute animated series (broadcasted on Coro Coro Comic's 'Oha! Coliseum') saw a 25% ratings drop* compared to EXE animated adaptions. Season two ('Tribe') was canceled prematurely at episode 21. (*number based upon weekly Japanese TV ratings website. Site no longer shows records of SSR ratings)
-Because the anime has done so poorly, Capcom has yet to give rights out to release either seasons on Region 2 DVD.
-I've been told Takara-Tomy lost a hefty sum of cash on SSR merchandise. In fact, it was previously reported that SSR toys were being pulled from store shelves and placed into bargain bins months after their release (Info courtesy of old PRC correspondent "Link")
When you look at the statistics all together, the SSR series isn't doing so well compared to it's predecessor. So, what has Capcom done from here? Cut back on spending.
Instead of wasting money on toys and TV shows, Capcom has invested in small methods to hype SSR3's release in hopes of gaining some sort of profit:
-Continue production of the Shooting Star manga in Coro Coro Comics. Current artists is being replaced by fan favortie artist, Ryo Takamisaki of EXE manga fame. (set to debut December)
-Continue production of the "popular" Wave Command Cards
-Produce a central hub that collects all SSR3 related news and other nooks and crannie's.
-Invest in an animated commercial produced by Production I.G (as mentioned in a SSR3 info pamphlet)
-Finally, promote Black Ace and Red Joker at the Rockman Summer Festival.
Now, it seems we've returned to the pre-EXE 4 era, the time when there were few pieces of EXE merchandise and no animated adaption. Still, Capcom did profit.
It's sad to admit we've hit a low point in Rockman's popularity in Japan...mainstream wise.
"Mainstream" refers to the group of consumers who purchase the hobby style Rockman games and related merchandise (primarily elementary school children). The mainstream (example below) doesn't give two hoots about the Original, X, DASH, Zero and ZX series. These are the folks Capcom has been catering to since the debut of the EXE series.
Upon the end of the EXE series and the debut of the SSR series, this audience began to dissipate. Slowly but surely, this audience will continue to dissipate until there are none left.
It is EXTREMELY important Capcom does not loose this audience. It's because of these new, younger fans this franchise is alive today. Without the EXE series' profits, Rockman would have become a thing of the past.
The traditional Rockman games and characters are slowly moving toward "cult" status, enjoyed only by long time fans and the hardcore. In order to keep Rockman's name in the public eye (the mainstream), Capcom must continue to support the hobby style games. I don't know how they'll do it, but they must continue to support this audience. Whether it be through the revival of the successful EXE series or the birth of a new one, Capcom cannot abandon ship.
Interestingly, the future holds a possible paradigm shift.
Rockman 9 has not only indicated fans want new entries in elder series, but also brought veteran fans back to the franchise; fans who've abandoned it because of the hobby style Rockman games.
If Capcom can successfully create new entries in older series that are accessible (possibly through download) and affordable, they can profit off of the hardcore/veteran fans once again. Who knows, if the traditional styled games become popular again, we may witness the birth of a whole new generation of fans.
Who knows what the future holds...

Everyone Must Have One Of These
Talented knitters TrinKnitty and Paul designed this epic MegaMan winter cap.
"Paul rarely asks me to knit anything for him. So, after two years of his repeated requests for the same knitted item, I gave in. He was even willing to go shopping for the yarn, which proved his dedication to making this knitting dream a reality. We collaborated together to come up with this: I present to you Paul's knitted Mega Man Helmet. "
I've never really be into wearing RM/MM attire, but I'll make an exception for this.

MegaMan 9 Makes Wall Street
Well lookie here! MegaMan 9 got some press from the world renowned Wall Street Journal.
From Kramez's blog:
Sure, your future has just disappeared in a puff of smoke and you've just realized that you're going to have to work until you're 90 in order to pay off your part of the part of $700 billion or so that the gov'mint might or might not vomit on Wall Street (not to mention all the war ca$h!). You turn to the Wall Street Journal, your only source of help and information in these troubled times. And what do you find? Mega Man. A pink Mega Man. Big as life and bright as a poodle, rocking a charged-up blast from his Buster cannon. And you know what? You smile. Your day is suddenly that much better. You reconsider hurling yourself through the window of your office building while clutching your lasted 401(k) statement. Instead, you plunk down what may possibly be your last remaining ten dollars on Mega Man 9, comforted by the fact that you'll never actually finish the game, thereby receiving a near-infinite return on your amusement investment.
Mega Man 9: stronger than the American economy and twice as likely to give you a heart attack.
Isn't it nice to see MM9 get mainstream press?
RM9 Arrange Soundtrack Samples Are Groovy
Personally, I'm not too keen on the groovy/funk style of either songs. I was really hoping for some techno remixes, especially for HornetMan. Oh well!
Don't forget, Rockman 9 Arrange Soundtrack ships October 10th 2008.

MegaMan Legends and Wii: A Perfect Match?
Wiifanboy has written up a lengthy article discussing why MegaMan Legends (Rockman DASH) is ideal series to grace the Wii.
A small excerpt:
"If Mega Man Legends were to be revived for the Wii (or, better yet, get a sequel), the wonders of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk would make it a far more enjoyable affair in terms of movement and shooting. For starters, a more practical use of the nunchuk's analog stick would move Mega Man around, and the C button could snap the camera behind his back to eliminate the annoyance of running in one direction and looking in another -- standard 3D action/adventure controls. To take the C button's functionality a step further, holding it down could activate strafing, eliminating the need for two independent buttons for strafing left/right. And to fire, there's the Wii Remote; a targeting reticule and free aiming with the Wiimote would do wonders to speed up the combat and make it more fun. In fact, Mega Man Legends would work exceptionally well with a very Metroid Prime 3-esque control setup."
I could defiently see something like this happening.
Do you think the Wii is fit to house the Legends/DASH series?

Rockman 9 Official Site Updates, Wallpapers!
Capcom of Japan's Rockman 9 hub saw an update today. Sadly, nothing we don't already know.
However, what you might find interesting is the addition of a wallpaper section. Currently there are two awesome wallpapers to download.
On a related note, congrats to Japan for receiving Rockman 9 today! Let's hope it does just as good if not better than the North American sales figures.
'The Jakob Tower' Is Actually Being Built? Not Really...
Rockman X8's Jakob Project doesn't sound so far fetched anymore. Japanese scientists are currently hard at creating a real life "orbital elevator:"
"Now the finest scientific minds of Japan are devoting themselves to cracking the greatest sci-fi vision of all: the space elevator. Man has so far conquered space by painfully and inefficiently blasting himself out of the atmosphere but the 21st century should bring a more leisurely ride to the final frontier.
For chemists, physicists, material scientists, astronauts and dreamers across the globe, the space elevator represents the most tantalising of concepts: cables stronger and lighter than any fibre yet woven, tethered to the ground and disappearing beyond the atmosphere to a satellite docking station in geosynchronous orbit above Earth.
Up and down the 22,000 mile-long (36,000km) cables — or flat ribbons — will run the elevator carriages, themselves requiring huge breakthroughs in engineering to which the biggest Japanese companies and universities have turned their collective attention.
In the carriages, the scientists behind the idea told The Times, could be any number of cargoes. A space elevator could carry people, huge solar-powered generators or even casks of radioactive waste. The point is that breaking free of Earth’s gravity will no longer require so much energy — perhaps 100 times less than launching the space shuttle. "
That's pretty freaking awesome. Can Japan do it?

MegaMan 9 Downloaded 60,000 Times On Day One
"Using Wii Shop Channel rankings from the top American Wii markets -- US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia -- along with historical sales data calculated from Nintendo Channel usage data, we can exclusively reveal to you today the sales for the first day for the hottest WiiWare title to date:
Day 1 sales for the Americas:
Mega Man 9 (WiiWare, Capcom, 1,000 points): 60,000
Yes, that's right. In one day Mega Man 9 outsold all but six WiiWare titles' lifetime totals. In one day it outsold Strong Bad Episode's 1 lifetime sales from over a month. For the full week it could surpass the lifetime sales of every WiiWare title -- and most Virtual Console titles, as well.
Needless to say, this is a pretty successful debut. We'll bring you full week sales next week, look out for the first-day sales of the XBLA version when it launches next Wednesday.
The other titles released were Plattchen Twist 'n' Paint (WiiWare, Bplus, 1,000 points), Super Dodge Ball (NES, Aksys Games, 500 points), and Vectorman (Sega Genesis, Sega, 800 points), and none of them had enough first-day sales to crack the top 20 (less than 1,000, probably far less)."
Looks like the game is a success. One has to wonder how much this number will change at the end of the week...

Rockman 9 Pulls a 'Blade Runner' *MAJOR SPOILERS*
Remember that really blizzard clue The Shadow provided us about Rockman 9's story? You know, the one about "robots having expiration dates?" Well, guess what...turns out it's true.
Numerous sources are claiming this is indeed a major plot point in the game, specifically during the moments leading up to the duel with Wily.
Apparently, all Robot Masters have a mandatory expiration date, a specific time when they shall cease all functions. With this knowledge in mind, Wily convinced Light's newest robots to stand up for their rights and proclaim that they can still be of use even after their termination date. Thus they began their rebellion on mankind.
I must note, I have not witness this play out myself. I've yet to beat the game (six RMs down, two to go), but I have eleven sources claiming this plot point to be fact.
Cyberpunk funs, does this plot sound familiar? It should, it's adapted from one of my favortie films: "Blade Runner." (1982)
The film centers around Rick Dekard, a Blade Runner assigned to retire four revolting Replicants; humanoid robots who serve various functions such as personal assistants and soldiers.
Eventually, Deckard learns that all Replicants, including those mentioned above, have limited lifespans (four years to be exact) as a fail-safe in case they develop the desire to be "independant" from their directives.
The reason why these particular four are revolting is because they seek to extend their life spans. Eventually, it becomes apparent that removing a Replicant's fail-safe is impossible, all Replicants shall meet their demise whether they like it or not.
Eventually, all four meet their end. Ironically, only one of the four dies from expiration (the other three were destroyed before they expired).
Interesting, no? (If you've yet to see Blade Runner, I highly suggest checking it out. It's one of those love/hate films. Depends on your taste.)
Now that I think about it, the Rockman lore does have a lot in common with Blade Runner. Anyone else notice the similarities between a Blade Runner and an Irregular/Maverick Hunter? Hmmm...
Well, I do hope you're enjoying Rockman 9. Hope I didn't spoil too much. (sarcasm)

MegaMan Promotional Soccer Ball?
To promote the US release of Rockman Soccer, Capcom apprently distributed MegaMan themed soccer balls:
"This auction is for a “SNES Megaman Soccer Ball promo from Capcom. This item came from the Capcom vault a few year back and I was lucky enough to get two, one for me the other for the winning bidder. It was used to promote the release of MEGAMAN SOCCER for the Super Nintendo. The ball is made of a hard sponge like material and is about 7 inches in diameter. Please note that this is not a real soccer ball but a RARE PROMOTIONAL PIECE that was used to promote the SNES Game MEGAMAN SOCCER."
Cool. Personally, I'm not a big soccer fan (nor am I a fan of RM Soccer), but this may interest some of you.
The "Shadow" and the Rockman Corner Mega Man 9 Leaks (A History)
"No movie anytime soon, the only thing original series thing planned in the near future is Rockman 9 for VC and PS3 Download." -The Shadow (Capcom Insider)
At the time, most of us swept "The Shadow"'s comment under the rug. I mean c'mon; we've heard all kinds of Mega Man 9 rumorsbefore. Why would this one be any different?
Everything changed one June morning. One June 13th, 2008, the OFLC ratings board officially revealed that Mega Man 9 was on it's way. The news set the internet a blaze – *everyone* was excited. Our collective eyes quickly turned toward The Shadow's comment. He was right. But who was he? How did he know about Mega Man 9 so early? Not longer after the OFLC ratings surfaced, after The Shadow contacted me directly.
In our first e-mail exchange, The Shadow told me he was a "beta tester" from the innards of Capcom USA. His intentions were simple and fair: to leak as much Mega Man 9 info as he could to the fans via Rockman Corner. He passed along the first-ever, concrete details about the game, which I posted here. Here's what it said:
"-Rockman 9 will feature a retro 8-bit art style, a homage to the earlier games.
-Two playable characters: Rockman and Blues (ProtoMan).
- A popular belief is that RM9 will act as the 'link' to the events of the X Series. This is not so, The storyline DOES NOT lead into the X Series, rather it's a 'traditional' plot.
-Many new characters, new Robot Masters and maybe some new supporting characters.
-Gameplay is reminiscent of Rockman 3-6.
-Online components: Leader boards and some unknown form of online play
-RM9 will be on all major home consoles: Wii, X360 and PS3. X360 and PS3 users will be able to purchase the game from their respective download services. It's unknown how the Wii version will work, whether it will be a downloaded game or not. "
The following day, The Shadow dropped another morsel of info. This time it was about the game's story: "Robots Have Expiring Dates."
The next day, again, more information: "MM9's Development Outsourced?" In that post, The Shadow claimed that Mega Man 9 was being developed by "two companies"– Capcom Japan and an unidentified "third party." As it turned out, the second developer was none other than Inti Creates.
And, well, that was it. The Shadow vanished. Complete radio-silence. Not long after his disappearance, Capcom USA's own Seth Killian confirmed there was indeed an individual who saw the game early, though he wasn't a "beta tester".
And so ends The Shadow's story. He's still MIA, at the time of this writing. But if you're there, my friend, thank you for keeping us posted on Mega Man 9. I sincerely hope you didn't land into any trouble!
And now here we are: eagerly awaiting to boot up our Wiis and download Mega Man 9 tomorrow. I don't know about you, it feels like Christmas!

Rockman 9 Wii Supports 'Classic Controller'
Those who feared Rockman 9 Wii would lack the option to use the ever popular Classic Controller should rest easy; it's been confirmed.

Custom Painted Rockman NES Auction
To honor the release of Rockman 9, ebay user moogmayhem is selling off a custom painted NES themed after the Blue Bomber himself.
" It's official, the Nintendo Entertainment System will have its newest game released this fall. Mega Man 9 will be released for download as a new NES game. As with many other fans of the series, I am overly excited, and thus; here is my ode to Mega Man via the NES.
This NES has been completely covered with artwork from the newest game in the Mega man series. This NES would be perfect for any fan of Nintendo or any fan of Mega Man.
I have spent many laborious hours creating a piece that is worthy enough for even my collection! The winner of this auction will receive:
-The completely custom, one of a kind, painted Nintendo Entertainment System
-All necessary hook-ups and attachments for play on a television set. (RF Unit, AC Adaptor - both official Nintendo)
-2 NES Controllers
-Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt
-1 Zapper Light Gun
This unit has been cleaned and tested. However, with any old NES, there is some degree of patience that comes with getting games to work on these machines. This auction is being presented "as is.""

IGN Video Review *SPOILERS GALORE*
IGN Reviews MegaMan 9
IGN has written up a fairly lengthy review of MegaMan 9. Overall, they gave it an 8.6, deeming it an "IGN Editor's Choice" award.
The lowdown (on a scale from 1.0-10):
7.0 | Presentation Dated by design, but also exactly what Capcom was going for. The story is lame, some of the master robots look really silly, but it's all intended. Lots of options and fan service to check out.
3.0 | Graphics A true "period piece" in gaming. Hardcore will love it, but when put against other download games, it won't look pretty. We wouldn't have it any other way though. Classic, and dated by design.
8.5 | Sound The throwback, 8-bit riffs are classic. Awesome music. Again, dated, but by design.
9.0 | Gameplay You can run, jump, and fire straight. Despite its simplicity though, Mega Man 9 is a mastery of 2D platforming. A few balance issues with guns and level difficulty can be found at times though.
8.5 | Lasting Appeal It's a short game, but like its 8-bit inspirations, it's also timeless. Once we beat it, we started again. Fun time trials, challenges, future downloadable content, and awesome level work overall. |
Does anyone else find the graphics' rating to be a little...unfair?
You can read the full review here.
Thanks to all those who sent this in!

SSR3 Site Updates: Battle System, Wallpaper
The Wave Station has updated once again, specifically the "System" section.
Details of the "improved" Battle System have come to light. The rules remain pretty much the same as the previous games; you pick Cards of the same type, or in the same column, row.
Mixing it up a bit are the new Support Use and Single Use Cards. Cards that appear in the background of the Custom Screen are capable of either Support or Single use. Selecting a Support Card changes the Card into Cards capable of assistance such as recovery. Single Use Cards are used as they appear.
You can view two flash movies showing the system in use at the links above.
The second update is a new wallpaper starring Acid Ace. Not much, kinda nice to look at.
Also, pre ordering the game gets you those awesome desktop calenders and an exclusive White Card

Rockman X4 Early Build Surfaces
Yahoo! Auctions Japan is hosting an auction for a trial version of Rockman X4 (PSX), notably the earliest know build of the game.
A buddy of mine has concluded this build was only available at promotional events. The assumption is based upon its SLPM code, 80121, a series assigned to promotional discs that populated trade shows (TGS for instance).
Those interested can bid on the item at Rinkya or Japan Auction Center.
Unfortunately, I am unable to bid due to some technical problems on my end. Anyone care to bid for me?

Downloadable Content Confirmed For Rockman 9
Well what do you know, DLC is in!
According to Capcom of America's press release, DLC will make its debute after launch:
"Additional downloadbale content available after launch."
DO WANT.
The press release does not specify which versions of the game will be reciving DLC, so I guess it's safe to assume it's coming to all three.
You can find the press release at CoA's official MegaMan homepage under the Synopsis tab.

MegaMan 9 Press Kit Photos *UPDATE: ASSETS REVEALED*
GamesRadar has put together a collection of pictures of the incredibly awesome MM9 Press kit.
I can't tell you how much I want this.
Thankfully, Capcom has expressed an interest in stocking 200 copies of the kit at their online store. Nothing is set in stone yet, but it's nice to know Capcom is looking out for us "ordinary folks." (those not apart of the press)
UPDATE: Kraproom has uploaded the contents of the MM9 asset disc. Contents included pictures, wallpapers, video and press releases. Check it out.
Talking About Splash Woman
With Rockman 9 rapidly approaching, I can't help but get excited to face off against Splash Woman, the series' first female antagonist (well, in Original series terms that is).
So readers, what are your opinions on Splash Woman? Do you feel it was a wise choice to mix things up a bit and debut a female Robot Master? Or do you feel her presence has broken the traditional “____Man” pattern we've known and loved for over two decades?
Personally, I think her presence adds some diversity to the “nearly female-less” Original series cast (Roll, Kalinca and Plum being the only ones I can think up of off the top of my head).
From what I've gathered, the fan response has been generally positive. I can't tell you how many pieces of Splash Woman fan art I've seen in the past 24 hours (both clean and dirty. *ahem!*) from 4chan alone.
What do you think? Comment!

"Rockman Rockman Best Price! Edition" Makes the Top Five
For a game considered to be a commercial flop in Japan, this comes as good news. I guess it took a budget price to get Japanese gamers interested in the 'Rockman Rockman' experience...
Actually, it really shouldn't come as a surpirse to see a Capcom PSP title is doing so well nowadays compared to two years ago (when RR was originally released). Capcom's recent success on the PSP is due to the immense figures brought in by 'Monster Hunter Freedom 2nd' which not only sold more than two million units, but also moved nearly two million PSPs. That's pretty darn good.
With a bigger user base compared to two years ago, PSP gamers are finally taking an interest in Rockman Rockman. But what of Irregular Hunter X?
Missy Elliot Cosplayed As Rockman? Oh Yes She Did.
Anybody notice Wily(2:30) and Forte (2:41)?

MegaMan 9 Retail Package?
Apparently, Capcom was hard at work creating a mock MM9 NES box set, but it eventually fell through:
"When we came up with the concept of a "box art" for Mega Man 9, we thought it was kinda funny, since there would be no real retail box for a dowloadable title. The premise of our marketing concept for the game was to promote this title like it was 1987, complete with cheesy art and game descriptions (read the back of the box) that had little to do with the actual game.
We then started to think, well why not? Why don't we recreate an old NES package complete with a real NES cartridge? So, here it is. What do you think?
Unfortunately, we weren't able to put the full game on these cartridges (the licensing and legal issues were a headache and not worth the trouble), but I agree, it would've been cool. Instead, these carts contain a small CD with artwork, game information and screenshots.
Anyway, we're sending these bad boys out this week to our friends from the press. Don't worry, we're thinking about offering a very limited quantity (200) on the Capcom Store, probably with a PSN or XBLA game voucher. Comment below if you're interested.
(Oh yeah, the MM9 shirts are here as well. Darin from the Capcom Store will blog about it once he's ready to make them available. He's just getting back from Indy, but go bug him anyway!)"
Anyone interested? Drop Capcom Unity a comment.

Anonymous: "MegaMan 9 on the 22nd. No DLC."
An anonymous source claiming to be a part of the press has come to crush the rumors started by SSJ4 while at the same time, confirming MM9's U.S release: September the 22nd.
"This SSJ4 guy is nothing but a fan pulling your guy's legs. His stuff is pure bull. There is no DLC whatsoever. The only thing close to DLC is a few unlockables gained by completing certain tasks in a "Challenge Screen." (Sorry, I'm not going to touch on this)
I've had Megaman 9 in my office for the past week and have been diligently writing up a review slated to hit online next week. I thought you and your readers would like to know that Capcom of America has specifically stated to not release the review until twenty-four hours AFTER the 22nd. Why? Take a good guess :)
However...I do not know if the 22nd release date applies to all three version of the game. We're only reviewing the WiiWare version, so I guess its safe to assume it's heading in the Wii's direction Monday.
Look forward to Sunday night, Capcom is expected to drop a press release confirming the date."
September 22nd is seeming more and more likely. Apparently, during IGN's "MegaMan 9 Week" campaigning, (celebrating the best Wily bosses) they mentioned a September 22nd release for all three consoles.
Why must we be teased? Can't we just have the game now?

MegaMan 2 On Virtual Console Today!
A Compendium of RnR Beta Things
Members of 'The Rockman EXE Zone' have put together a hefty list of various beta things from the first Ryuusei no Rockman.
The contents consist primarily of aesthetic differences,so nothing nearly as cool as the hidden EXE 5 DS 3D elements. However, fans of beta stuff may want to check it out anyway.
Can you spot the differences between the beta (left) and the final (right)?

Coro Coro Issue 10 Scans
The long awaited October Coro Coro is here and with it comes our first look at the 'Red Joker' version of SSR3.
The scoop:
-Each version has its own set of Cards, Noise Changes and Finalized Forms.
-Game features ten "Terror Noises", dark/evil versions of the known Noise Changes. Not much else is known.
-Defeating a foe with a ratio of 100% will reward you a random Card.
-Ratio indicates foe's 'invisibility status. '(?)
-Wave Command Cards are returning, now referred to as "Noise Modification Gear." They come in three variations: Noise Cards (increases abilities, combine five cards), Reason Cards ( Strengthen Finalize Forms and share benefits from your assembled "Team" consisting of real world friends) and White Cards (Allows you to receive more in game White Cards, similar to Blank Cards)

Red Joker Takes Over SSR3 Site
Finally, worth while SSR3 official site updates.
Like Black Ace, Red Joker becomes available to Rockman once he obtains the Joker Program made by the Satellite Police.
The Joker Program gives Subaru direct access to the Meteor server, allowing him to transform into Red Joker. Once in Red Joker Finalize, Rockman gains a flame thrower charged shot plus the immensely powerful "Red Gaia Eraser" Noise Force Big Bang attack.
The site update also added a new section; System.
System covers the basics of SSR3 gameplay. The first entry covers how Noise Changes work: Noise Level rises when a Virus is attacked with an 'overkill' none elemental Card.
If your Noise Ratio is at 0%-49% when transformed, Rockman will 'Form Out', the process of changing shape. Changing shape allows added damage to attacks and other abilities.
When Noise is over 50%, Rockman will move to 'Color Out' mode, allowing his transformation to reach its full potential. The example used is Ox Noise: Ox Noise gains a Heat Canon charged shot and the ability to perform its NFB: Atomic Blazer.
Like previous transformations, Noise Changes have elemental weaknesses. If you receive damage from your weakness, the Noise Ratio drops to 0% canceling Noise Change.
So, what happens if the Noise Ratio reaches 200% and beyond? A ratio above 200% allows Rockman access to the Satellite Server, presenting Rockman with exclusive random Cards.
Awesome.
Capcom has opened up a special mobile version of the SSR3 site. Here, visitors can get SSR3 news on their mobile phones and downloadable wallpapers.
The Satellite Serves has updated as well. Entering in the code, 395656, allows you to view a secret document concerning 'Project TC', the ability to Trans On. Also, you can view some schematics of Acid Ace.

Rockman DASH 2 Cutscene Code Is Bitter Sweet
Code developed by undergroudruin, a well respected code cracker amongst Rockman DASH fans. Unfortunately, he refuses to distribute this code to the public. A darn shame, I love these kinds of things.

BubbleMan: The Room
Well, somebody's a big BubbleMan fan.
John spent a grand total of three months decking out his room to look like BubbleMan's stage (of Rockman 2 fame)
Everything you see was done entirely by hand: Measurements, penciling, everything.
Now that's devotion.
