Spotted at the Licensing Expo 2018 showroom floor, here's a look at the Mega Man: Fully Charged booth. It's also a charging station – get it? GET IT?
Anyway, couple things of note here. For one, we've got a new logo with the "Fully Charged" subtitle attached. Second, the banner closest to the ceiling has a new Mega Man render. And third, it's confirmed that the toyline from Jakks Pacific is due out in 2019. It will be completely separate from the toyline that's launching later this summer.
Check out a few additional images after the jump. A huge thanks to Eleanor Prior for the images!
Right next to the image of MM is an image of Teletubbies. That sums up my feelings about this show.
ReplyDeleteI do have to say, the way the coloring and softness of the images, which is yes, stuck next to the gleeful visages of the Teletubbies, gives off a very...childlike, Transformers Rescue Bots, Fisher Price vibe.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I get it, this is a show aimed at children, I just hope it isn't too dumbed down...
Rescue Bots is actually solid for what it is, though. This just gives me the vibe of like... super ultra baby-fying it.
DeleteAgreed. Rescue Bots was actually cleverly written and even contained bits of wittier humor adults could pick up on. To top it off, it is canonically linked with Prime's timeline, which was the best damn Transformers show in recent years.
DeleteI kind of feel like this seres is just going to be a rip off of Astro Boy's 2003 Series I mean so far other then his look and name it does not really scream Megaman to me
ReplyDeletecould they just not go through with this
ReplyDeleteWell, the crown basically confirms that blue Robot Master as Wave Man me thinks. Dunno why people thought it was Bubble Man, they seem to be keeping the colorschemes reasonably close to the originals.
ReplyDeleteThat's about all I can say as far as positivity goes though, sheesh... I get a major feeling that this is gonna be dumbed down and kiddy-fied to the max. The fact that it's being displayed among Caillou, Teletubbies, and some sort of Pokemon ripoff I assume doesn't help either. I'll give it a shot, but... man. Not looking good.
That Pokemon Ripoff as you call it looks like Slugterra which I think is a completely unrelated series since I haven't seen any of it yet and it I think was on Disney and is on Netflix now and pretty Popular. Could be less about catching and more about stopping your typical evil.
DeleteProbably because of the flippers. Though Wave Man had those too. Maybe it's just because Bubbleman's more recognizable?
DeleteIs there a place where i can show my murderous rage ?
ReplyDeleteThis is fucking hell.
Please kill Megaman. This is fucking cruel beyond words.
Woah calm your self edgelord
DeleteYeah it's bad and will forever tarnish the Mega Man name but what are you gonna do? It is what it is, Mega Man just has bad luck and good luck on far ends of the extreme.
DeleteActually, if you want the cartoon to end quickly. Don't buy any of the toys that are released for it, don't watch the series when it airs. if events that happened in the past with Cartoon Network shows that ended quickly are anything to go by, doing the above will guarantee a swift and fast death the the cartoon. And we can forget it EVER happened.
DeleteGuys, relax, holy shit. I mean, Mega Man was tarnished before by that moronic Ruby Spears show. Just let it slide. I'm not gonna watch it, but still.
DeleteOh man, a *charging* station? While I cringe at the cheesy pun, I'm going to classify this as a clever move because were it not for the fact that people may need a place to charge their devices, would there be anyone actually visiting the booth?
ReplyDeleteIts look pretty decent
ReplyDeleteThanks booth creators for using the same promotional picture over and over, giving us nothing new to obsess over and criticize.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame how this abomination hasn't sparked the same level of outrage as CN's new Thundercats cartoon.
ReplyDeleteI guess MM fans are much more accustomed to this kind of abuse.
Oh I'm sure this has sparked more rage than we're seeing.
DeleteWhy do they insist on going through with this? Little kids aren't going to give a damn about it and fans of the series are decidedly disgusted with it. Putting it adjacent to shit like teletubbies is embarrassing. Nobody wants this. Just. Stop.
ReplyDeleteLittle kids aren't their target, though. They want literally babies to watch it, which is why Teletubbies are next to it.
DeleteKids ARE they target audience. TT are next to it because they are the global distributor for TT.
Delete*DHX are the global distributor.
Deletethis seems mostly aimed at very young kids
ReplyDeletethe thing is
why would kids care about a 30 year old game? why not make new stuff?
Also the costume design, especially the tron lines, geez.
Megaman has a sixties/seventies aesthetic yet they somehow managed to make this incarnation look much more outdated.
"Why would kids care about a 30 year old game?"
DeleteWhy not? Mega Man design-wise is very child friendly. It's just the direction that this redesign is taking that is making people worry alot.
Power Rangers is older than Mega Man and it's still running. Dragon Ball is older and it's still THE most popular japanese cartoon in the world. It's not about how old a product is, but how it is managed to the public. If you don't know how to turn a massive franchise into something original, then you don't understand too much about what kids want to see.
Oh my gosh! CN ?!?! IT WILL FAILED!
ReplyDeleteWould like to see some actual footage from the show for once, but oh well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it'll be aight.
Well its exactly what we have been seeing for the last year or so. Looks terrible still will i give it a shot? sure always do but i am bracing for trash
ReplyDeleteOh my God, what did they do to Ice Man?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, this makes Captain N look closer to the original source material.
ReplyDeleteAlso, placing it next to the teletubbies and starting off with a toy line is not a good idea in the least.
